if he’s taking anything, then he needs to see a doctor about it more than Polly does. This is a recent photo

I know a guy really gaunt from severe Crohn’s Disease that looks healthier than this. And that dude actually monitors his diet.

How old is he? 30s? He looks like he could be someone's grandpa in this image.

No help has come :(

Before Polissa can use this argument to con someone, many (most?) people use insulin pens that don't require refrigeration instead of the syringe and vial these days. (I'm not trying to gainsay you, but I wouldn't put it past her to start mooing about that soon. We see you, Polly!)
You still have to keep insulin pens refrigerated until they're opened, same as the bigger vials. After opening, they can be at room temperature for 28 days.

Insulin pens are the preferred prescription for patients experiencing homelessness, because they can pick up one at a time. And because then they don't have to worry about people stealing their syringes.

Too bad he won't because "REE Kiwifarms is evil."

I've wondered if he actually is on diabetes medication. He doesn't have insurance and insulin, needles and testing equipment is damn expensive. He could just be taking an oral medication like Metformin but if his doctor prescribed it he'd be requiring Joh to test and come in for the occasional A1C test, again, which gets expensive if you're not insured.

Guys, is it possible Poorlissa might have exaggerated?!
Sifting through all of Polissa's claims to figure out which ones are true can get challenging, but I do believe Josh has type 2 diabetes—and that he's receiving no treatment at all for it. He's in terrible condition, has recently lost a lot of weight, has no muscle mass, and has developed sores on his legs. This is a 36-year-old man with the body of somebody 20-30 years older. He's falling apart fast.

Getting Josh on insulin and improving his diet should be absolute top priority in that household, because he's the only one capable of earning an income, and because he's going to die in an ugly, painful way—and soon, if he doesn't start managing it properly. I'm sure he feels like warmed-over shit most of the time.

He doesn't have health insurance, but he and Polissa are so low-income, there's got to be some way he can get help. He should get seen by a doctor—be it through a free/charity clinic, or even spending a day at the ER, like so many indigent patients do—because not only will that give him the records needed to support a potential disability claim, but the social workers might also be able to find a way to fast-track him into a state or federal program that can get him insulin and diabetes education.

That said, the sticking points in all this will be Josh, who will need to take charge of his own care and change his own habits, and Polissa, who appears to do all the grocery shopping, and who I don't believe is capable of following through on the needed dietary changes.

At the very least your soon to be ex husband should get a shift meal if you let him do his fucking job instead acting like your personal slave. You are having a very likely unnecessary hysterectomy. It is a common surgery. Nobody cares. Do better. One of my favorite cows used to be The Kneady Homesteader. She was a married edgelord POS with 4 boys when she got started. Through her myspace angles and terrible political take YT vids, she managed to reel in a 350lb married man with two young children. They both left their spouses for each other and the new guy basically never saw his kids again as he moved 3-4 states away to be with the new bitch and probably didn't pay too much child support. Lots of weird drama ensued. She had two more children with her new loser in her early 40s and him in his late 40s (naturally, no fertility treatments as you might expect). She had a hysterectomy, probably for good reason, but she didn't set up a fucking gofundme for her aftercare or expect a 6 day histrionic hospital stay. At least she had that going for her.

Anyway, what led me to lose interest in the cow was that one night, she, her husband, and their two mutual children were hit head on by I believe a drunk driver at incredible speeds. Her husband died on impact. She broke about every major bone in her body, massive brain hemorrhage, on life support for a bit and in the hospital at least a month. Children also have some broken bones, but were definitely not as physically injured as their parents. A GFM (archive) was set up which I can't hate too much on because she was a SAHM who hasn't worked in like probably 20 years and now was REALLY disabled. He had no life insurance. I don't understand not even having it group through work even if it was a pittance, but he was likely pretty close to uninsurable anyway owing to his age and extreme obesity. Now, I don't like this cow, but I understand why people might donate and she got in the hundreds of thousands of dollars, no shit.

Nobody cares about you because you don't have that level of need. You aren't disabled, you are just lazy. Nothing tragic happened to you. You don't have kids, just pets you should rehome. Nobody cares. Get a job and let your retard husband work his.

There are low income/sliding scale/"you still get seen if you can't pay" clinics in most cities and large enough towns. For primary care and basics there are actually options in-between "dying" and "ER as primary clinic" for most people.

Why, here is one serving her area that I'm sure she has a dozen excuses at the ready to not use/claim she can't use.

I don’t know about Joh, but at least Polly will get her hysterectomy for practically free via Medicaid. I better not see her whining about her copay.

Speaking of the hysterectomy, she’s so excited that she changed her Twitter icon to the selfie she took at her hysterectomy consultation appointment

Imagine being this excited for insta menopause.

She also commented on a Gelfling Girl post where Gelfling is still paranoid about getting preggers despite having her tubes tied and living in a state where abortion is easier to access

More Alabama hatebonering

I know off the top of my head who OP is talking about with those states. I can’t name a particularly batshit Alabama politician that’s always on the news at the moment. Pretty pathetic considering that’s where George Wallace came from.

I highly recommend you stop eating or drinking before reading these tweets

Nasty

Once she gets to the hospital, Josh is stuck there because he can't drive. He has no option but to stay and serve her will unless he can dig up someone to come save his ass.

I wonder if not feeling like complete shit all the time would improve his attitude. But that can't happen because Polissa needs all the attention and coloring books. I can imagine him being in ICU and her interrupting her doctor to tell them about how she has ouchies because she can't have stress. But this way she needn't save up for a divorce when she can wait a few months and watch him keel over in the survival garden instead!

Didn't she have dry shampoo on her wishlist and now she's saying shampoo caps don't work? And you most definitely can wash your hair with one arm. I've done it. People who only have one arm do it daily. But no, she'd rather have dirty hair and Febreez her snapper than figure it out.

Aside from the grifting and whining, she's also a massive downer. She's a whiny, mean, Debbie Downer.

He looks like a diabetic guy I went to high school with who used to take "extra" insulin so he could drink more.
Yeah, that doesn't always work.
Source: alcoholic diabetic cousin who "was careful when he drinks." Died from it, was found 3 weeks later when the neighbors noticed the smell. From a detached house. In August. Without a/c.
Don't drink and diabetes, kids.

Privileged fatcats! They don't know what it's like to live with a red 40 allergy that prevents you from working!

is she thinking she's going to get the trailer for free and she and her family tell. section 8 she's paying rent and splitting the money with them?
Section 8 programs require a home that's up to code.

Yeah, that doesn't always work.

Yeah, last I heard the guy I knew was blind. That was in our mid-twenties so who even knows if he's still alive.

I feel terrible for the people who found your cousin. That's something you never forget.

Joh really does look unwell. Like, some people, particularly younger guys, can be that thin and wiry but it looks natural. Joh looks sick, like he's burning through his fat stores because he's not managing his diabetes correctly. I bet he smells like acetone.

Is he Type I? I might be late and gay, but I missed his type somewhere.

I keep forgetting he doesn't have a license. Aren't there work driver's permits? Is that still a thing? I know there were work and school permits, easier to get than a license.

I didn't get more details than that, but I can't even imagine. He was single, childless and retired, so nobody noticed him gone.
Iirc, he died in his sleep, so at least that's something.

I don't think we know, actually. I'd assume Type 1, given his age, but Type 2 can hit if you're unlucky and fat enough.
