Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

So finished the entirety of the Warrior Trilogy as well as Wolves on the Border.

Now I don't know if I want to continue on the path with Heir to the Dragon or stall a bit and read a Rock and a Hard Place?

So, I still owe you guys a few images, I guess.

I added a third Medium Laser to the left torso and put the Royal Black Watch insignia on the right shoulder:

I am pretty certain this will not print well, but it's worth a shot lol
Got the printed minis, cleaned them up, primed them and did a bit of a white drybrushing to highlight the print on the shoulder.

Here's how it turned out for the Black Knight, Highlander and Warhammer:

This turned out so much better than anticipated. I attached the models, if you want to print them yourselves.

Also, the Karnov finally got more or less all finishing touches:

I call it, the "Bumble Bee".

You will notice, I hand-painted a tiny black stripe on every bee.
The wings have dark stripes at the leading edge, it's a detail I picked up on when looking at images of DC-3s with invasion stripes for reference.

I'd love to add some more decals, letters and numbers, but fuck me, I need to figure out a way to make stencils or something, cause I seriously won't draw that by hand.

Seems likely to have the initial invasion in my opinion. If Piranha is smart for once, they will release it as a big expansion to go up to Tukayid. Maybe have it so you have to survive and win the Battle of Tukayid as your Inner Sphere crew, and then add DLC to let you play as the Clans to give them time to develop a career/campaign around them.

Also gave MW5 a quick whirl after I got home last night since Gamesplanet has it on sale (I think today is the last day for their site wide sale). Boy, am I ever mediocre at it! At least I enjoyed myself and can't wait to finish the campaign to try a career run.

I know there are mods for it, but what are the chances that MW5 gets Clan DLC at some point?
Pretty damn big.
Your old man is almost certainly some sort of Clan spy who wound up going native in the IS given that hidden inside his Victor were a series of voice message where he announces he's fucking off from a spy job to raise a family and the coordinates to a Brian Cache with a daggerstar on the front door that just so happens to be on the start of the Exodus Road. In before we find out he's a fucking Falcon or something and had a beef with the Dragoons because of that.

That went through my mind when the whole CGL/Pardoe fiasco went down as well. Just show up at your LGS with a thumbdrive of STL files... or a few neatly painted 3D print mechs (to spark people's interest) and a shoebox full of "leftovers" and "test prints" to hand out.

>Oh, you like this Marauder? Thank you! Wanna try painting one yourself? I've got a few I printed, you might wanna give it a shot? Never mind, I don't need those anyway.
>Man yeah, shitsucks that CGL is way behind their shipping schedule, it will take months until the Urban Lance is back in stock... wait a minute, you want the Victor, look what I got here!
>Nah man, it's cool, I usually print several copies of the same mech in one go, just in case something goes awry, so I have a lot of them to spare. Help yourself.

You'll be the coolest kid in town and ten bucks of resin will easily gimp CGL out of sales in the tripple digits. Seriously, a litre of resin is like 25 bucks and you can print a shitload of Mechs with that amount.

But what is this of CGL stealing minis at conventions? Is this them stealing nice-looking minis cause they are magpies in human form or do they steal them for a purpose other than being dicks? I don't get this at all. If they steal dioramas and minis, do they put them on display to brag? What the fuck is wrong with these people?
I started doing this exact thing with Warhammer at one point. I would buy STLs that were nice and put them on a usb stick. And just give them to people. If they didn't have or want a printer I would offer my services. I made a decent bit of money. But eventually I just got so annoyed at Games Workshop I migrated to One Page Rules and never looked back. Everyone I know at my LGS plays OPR over 40k now. No one buys any Warhammer minis if they can help it and I still get asked to print stuff for people. At the very least I make back the £20 I spend on resin.

Meanwhile, if you tried to do that with 40K you'd need at least three liters of resin and $200 in Citadel™ Contrast Paints in order to give someone a starting force. Battletech chads win again.
£5 worth of a 1L bottle of Anycubic resin will get you 1000 points of troops according to Lychee and Chitubox slicers. The bottles are £20. 1 Bottle will get you 3000 points easily. Add one more bottle and you can get a Imperial Knight out of that easily. You could get those expensive Sirya Tech bottles for £60 but they are way overhyped and overrated frankly. I am not denying that it is cheaper to play Battletech. You get a lance of 4 mechs for pennies. About the same cost as a full 10 man squad of Space Marines with all their weapons and gear.

In case the "Battletech chads win again" bit didn't make it clear, it was exaggeration for the sake of a fucking joke. I know we're all autists since we're talking about big stompy robots, but make an effort here.

Hell you can go First/Second edition and get cardboard mechs if you want to be even cheaper.

Sigh. I hate when they fuck with the established lore like that.

I'm going to rank that as fan fiction because why the fuck would the Taurians ever willingly associate with the subhuman Capellans?

Because the Jihad.

Logically, it makes sense. The three nations easily share resources, whether they be industrial or military, and help defend each other. The problem is that Grover was an idiot and forgot he was dealing with the Capellans, who in turn bled them dry of their military resources to fuel their campaigns. The meteor strike killing him was the best thing to have happened to the Concordat while he was Protector of the Realm.

"At least they're not Davions!" - Grover Shraplen, probably.
Which is you know, fair to think about when you realize all the shit the Davions have given the Concordat. Like nuclear warheads and orbital bombardments.

"No Cappie ever irradiated my ancestor." - Taurians.

Didn't the Cappies wage war against them?
I believe any conflict was pre-Star League. The Capellans didnt participate in the Reunification War. There might have also been instances during the Succession Wars, but the Cappies had their hands full with their two big neighbors, I doubt they had time to open a third front.

Yeah, I went and double-checked stuff on Sarna, and the first conflict was during the Age of War before the BattleMech was invented or even the signing of the Ares Conventions, and while horrific and bloody due to the use of strategic weapons, was restricted to the border regions quite unlike the horrors of the Reunification War. Even when it blew up from a border skirmish into the Rim War it was still just a border conflict. Nothing like what the AFFS and SLDF would do to the Taurians or continue to do.
