This gets dangerously close tho to the one-eyed, CIA cum sucking neo-con warhawk McCain wanna-be Crenshaw's ultra retarded secret mission video. Of course DeSantis has a proven track record so far but still...
I take like boomer posting about Trump its incredibly tacky and super dramatized, but harmlessly adorable at the same time
Like being in a BBQ and uncle John standing up and yelling "USA USA USA" upon seeing his favorite team score a goal

If the amount cancelled is big enough there will be a 1099, so the IRS at least will note the debt cancellation.

Hm, maybe that's what all the new IRS employees and CID agents are for?
If the grand plan is to entrap people who take this on out of desperation or whatever with student loans for some kind of political gain, they're only going to catch the retards who'd vote for them anyway.

The american rescue plan thing made student loan forgiveness non taxable til 2025 apparently.

Im curious how they decide which 10k of the debt gets removed. Does it go to principal? If so would you get to choose which loans get paid off first? If you have interest does that get knocked off first? Does the bank get to choose? If it does happen im expecting the lowest interest or oldest loans to be removed credited automatically.

Also 125k is such a weird number. Quite a few NYC/Cali types who went to college and racked up debt to get office job and live there would make past that and still be basically broke due to how expensive those cities are plus student loan repayments.

Maybe it's just because I'm from engineering, but how? Me and everyone I know who did it got PAID to do a master's degree. Normally financed by an outside party in exchange for research. Going rate was pretty much minimum wage plus free tuition and fees.
All the people who graduated with some humanities degree during the recession couldn't find a philosophy job, so they convinced themselves that they should just get a masters and by the time that was finished the economy would recover and all the philosophy mills would reopen.

Ironically, the only places here still stable are churches. But a fuckton of them stopped food drives. Because there's a lot of homeless now.

I live next to a church and every Monday they give out food boxes. Every day I see people in $50,000 cars lined up to get their free food. Drives me fucking nuts that the church doesn't look at their car and tell them to leave.

You act like they just convinced themselves and werent actively encouraged to go do this by their professors and the school selling them a crock of shit.

Theres also the unspoken. Those who failed out of grad school. Grad school can be a shock when some of these people learn a C is basically an F there. And STEM programs might let you get away with 1 B before there is an issue.

My STEM masters had a starting cohort of 200 people and only 15 of us finished 2 years later. A whole lotta people might have taken loans with nothing to show.

Even an undergrad STEM degree should be making you enough money to pay off your student loans, regardless of biting off more than you can chew. But it's always a person's own decision to do this. Letting yourself get talked into taking on undischargable debt, without a real plan for employment, is not something I can empathize with. I worked my way through school.

This view is understandable but I have to disagree. In my a bit over half-century on this Earth I have seen more and more of this push to believe that the only way one can be successful is to get a degree, any degree. Alongside increasingly ignoring trade schools or methods of employment.

Children are basically indoctrinated to believe the only possible way to have success in life is to get a degree, and that any degree will open up opportunities for you. That kind of propaganda has a lot of effects I cannot fully lay the blame at their feet for. Its hard to argue they should have first planned out for exactly what kind of job they want when what they are told from grade school to high school is that the important thing is to simply have -a- degree.

I'd argue this systemic failure is deliberate though, the goal of much of the forces pushing it is to get kids into college to be indoctrinated into left-wing ideology.

Just so we're clear

Biden, or one of the cathedral claiming to be acting on his authority (without knowledge, which would be an interesting legal mess if we had a functional government), pulled back Trump's executive privlege for an illegal fishing expedition warrant that resulted in a raid on his house...

But Pelosi is claiming her own magic not-executive privilege to hide the January 6 kangaroo court's dirty laundry now that it's very, very obvious that the GOP is taking the house and senate.

Plus was favoring the prosecutor pretty extremely, like restricting the defense in their ability to cross examine and shit-talking them in front of the jury.

Defense blasts judge in Whitmer kidnap retrial: You're favoring the feds in front of jury

We see the obvious problem here, right?

And here as well?
So we slightly modify @Ruin's post:

This is why conservatives always lose.

Conservatives "but that's violation of due process, you can't do that, that's unfair!"

Leftists "lol nerd we're going to do do it anyways."

"Conservatives "Oh well time to do nothing but whine on the internet about how the situation would be if the actors were reversed. Surely we'll win next time."

Well... the problem is they didn't know the risks. Everyone was told that the only path was this one and it would be worth it. They were lied to. The debts never being paid back. So it's a hard landing or a soft landing. Forgiving/erasing the debt is the soft landing. Everything defaulting and collapsing the system is the hard one.
They've had more than a year to figure out the risks. Unless all they did was dick around in college. In which case. Fuck them. Stop wasting everyone's fucking time.
And even if it was a fucking grift. I'm not getting punished for their mistakes.
Like I said the best case scenario for them that I will agree with is a sweeping change of the education system. Then maybe we can look into the fucking loans. Not a second before. I'm not leaving myself vulnerable to more dicking by the dumbass banks that thought predating on children was going to end well for everyone.

I'm not going to help support a system prone to collapse. A system that needs constant bullshit like this DESERVES to collapse.
