Yep. Plus the saying about the burned hand teaching best comes to mind with said moderates. And the one about trust lost being twice as hard to regain. They're going to have a built-in skepticism towards Democrat claims thanks to finally waking up about being lied to for so long. And over time, that pushes them more and more towards the right thanks to the Democrats doubling-down on the very statements that pushed them away in the first place. After all, if they were lying about drag queens, maybe they were lying about the Orange Man being bad...

Or you know, since this is Current Year and a pop culture reference is mandatory.... "Every lie we tell incurs a debt to the truth."

And with sources they may still be inclined to trust, such as CNN, cleaning house and trying to lean more moderate, these sources that aren't directly democrat that might as well have been democratic that they're attached to that may start providing some positive coverage of republicans in with the bad. Hearing something other than constant "Orange Man Bad" could have a significant impact. Not that CNN deserves a redemption arc or that I think they'll succeed, but they're welcome to try. More likely their idea of 'moderate' is "bring on some RINO talking points".

Rainbows indeed, at least with the wording presented. The government is more than welcome to request anything, as long as they're not exercising power. Unless Zucc starts telling people that there was implied or explicit consequences for not suppressing it, there's nothing wrong with the government asking you to do something and you complying without any undue pressure. I find it extremely unlikely that there wasn't implicit threat/action, but Unless Zucc confirms it and presses the charges, nobody would realistically be able to prosecute it.

Thats the magic of the Republicans current ask, you don't have to. All the republican voter base wants them to do is stop censoring, stop algorithmically pushing down content, and stop spending corporate money on wide public political initiatives. Translating that to business, it means they want them to stop deliberately reducing their customer/user base, stop demoting hot, highly engaged content that generates revenue, and stop spending large chunks of revenue on non-revenue generating activities.

The current Republican asks align 1-1 with "Make as much money as possible without discriminating" and thats not a hard pill for Big Tech to swallow.

Do keep in mind that twitter is a minority of a minority of a minority of people. Twitter has about 396.5 million 'active' users total, of those only about 83.4 million are American, of those only about 10% or 8.34 million are frequent users. Of -those- an estimated 50-60% are bots.

You are left, conservatively, with 4.19 million people. Out of a nation of 329.5 million.

Do not ever use twitter as gauge for the effects of policy on people as a whole, or even democrats as a whole.

You are already seeing it. Twitter is going through an elaborate song and dance to 'force' Musk to buy them, Facebook/Meta is trying to pivot away from shit entirely. Just those two make up astronomically important parts of big tech. And the smaller ones are simply bowing out since they don't have name recognition hatred.

Motherfucker straight up threatened Putin with nuking Moscow if he dared to even step foot in Ukraine, and called Kim-Jong Un "Rocket Man". Compare that to the Brandon admin's, as a certain film director would put it, wishy-washy Mickey Mouse shit of "we will not act if it's a minor incursion". Or when they called Putin a killer, and Putin was all like "say that to my face, faggots", and they pussied out, like the bitches they are.

You don't have a choice. The system is going to collapse and we can either have a softer landing or a harder landing. Getting rid of all of the debt in a system that is built and fueled by it will crash the system. That is the soft landing. Continuing to kick the can down the road like we are doing and letting it collapse on its own will be worse than a controlled demolition of debt elimination.

Thing is, and its a thing @soy_king failed to elucidate on, is that if you do something at the request of the government, you are acting as a direct agent of theirs and are forced to abide by the same legal restrictions as they are. Its why they've been doing the end-run around the 1A through entirely unofficial channels, and why that Disinformation whatever thing is blatantly illegal if its giving orders to companies and a cunt's hair away from being blatantly illegal even if all it does is just post up what the government says needs to be taken down and the social media companies and the like comply.
