Most of the people calling her an old guard RINO have just noticed that she exists in the past couple of days. Remember this site, while having a relatively high percentage of politispergs like us, is by no means dominated by politispergs. What is the go to insult for a Republican they don't like if they themselves are not a Democrat? RINO.

RINO just means a person who cloaks themselves in Republican (conservative) values and then does things like demand censorship. This idea that she is an old-guard RINO is silly, she's part of the new class of grifters. And I unequivocally agree that the right has plenty of chucklefucks too among us.

This shit pisses me off so much. Last week I put in a pick up order for groceries because I ran out of time to do it in person. Some of the items were highlighted with a new price (typically used when noting sales on items) but instead of a sale it was a price increase. Complete bullshit.

I never understood what about Iowa makes it a swing state. it doesn't have any large cities, it's mostly agrarian, yet somehow, unlike it's neighbors with similar demography and economies, it's fairly purple.

I dunno for sure, as I know next to nothing about Iowa, but I would guess that it's a lot like Kansas, where there are just enough college towns and suburban yuppie scum to put it in play.

Boomer farmers who still buy into the whole idea of Democrats being an independent businessman's party.
The parallels are closer with Minnesota than other states along the rust belt. And Minnesota's heartland has turned hard against the state Democrat party.

I saw Larry Summers, the former treasury secretary during the Obama administration, talking about unemployment used as a way to keep the economy from "overheating." He said, "We need at least 5 years of the unemployment rating being at least 5 percent higher than it is now. 7.5 percent unemployment or more for 5 years." This would be by the government's official reckoning of employment and unemployment. Actual unemployment would be increased by over twice that 5 percent target. The new great plan is for over 10 percent of the current workforce to not have a job for at least 5 years for some people. Great plan!

Damn shawty is it really too much to ask for you to not operate machinery doped up? I don't like the idea of a nurse sticking a needle in me after hotboxing in the car before work.

I keep hearing "not addictive" and "not a gateway drug" but lived experience says so much otherwise. Every single person I graduated HS with that is now in jail or a certified junkie started out with weed in junior high. I don't have many but all of my junkie relatives did. Weed put an otherwise normal classmate into special ed because he stopped caring.
