I'm.fairly certain that "goy" is a term for people who aren't Jewish. It's been a thing I've seen in Twitter to help differentiate the two populations. But I'm not 100% sure.
Goy is shorthand for goyim, if I'm not mistaken. Goyim is anyone who's not Semitic. It's been a term that's been used even longer but I digress.
She's also so damn off-base when she says that FFXIV is only appealing because WoW is doing poorly. No, it's been growing year-over-year since Heavensward because it has its own appeal. People aren't screaming at each other to play FFXIV because they need validation that it's good, they're advocating for it because they enjoy it so much. It's a joke in the community about how much they push it, they have the common sense to understand that it's not going to be for everyone and they aren't gonna shove it down other's throats. It's good on its own merits, not just when it's being compared to recent WoW.
There is a legitimate phenomena of "WoW" refugees, but it's also worth noting a decent portion of FFXIV players are annoyed at the refugees due to some of them transferring the worst of their experiences to FFXIV. Whether it's toxic behavior, griefing, a need for outright cheating add-ons to play the game or what have you, it's caused players to be bitter about these newcomers. In turn, some WoW refugees can't help but be baffled and shocked when it turns out that unlike Blizzard, the FFXIV GM team is actually active. Granted, the GM team is oddly capricious, but you can tell there's humans.
She even admits that it's enjoyable and can see why other people enjoy it, but it's not for her. And that's fine! But saying the game is only recently popular because WoW is doing poorly is completely disingenuous. Yes, WoW has fallen from a monumental height into a deep, deep valley, and many consider FFXIV to be the top MMO now, but FFXIV has been crawling its way up for years.
One thing to legitimately dislike about that review is how she's gonna hold it over everyone's heads; similar to how Dunkey does whenever he does a JRPG review or something stupid involving said reviews. And she's already done it, with that ZP clip.

Goy, or goyem, is a term Jewish people use for non-jews. Mostly used in a pejorative way.

She can't help but make a ZP reference can she?

"Weebs treat japan like an exotic zoo"
- Lily "Black people are inherently more interesting" Orchard
Lily ''why don't you learn our their language'' Orchard.

Of course she thinks Japan is the only foregin country that produces media or animation, and is the only one that faces issues with exportation of said media.

Anyway, someone posted her Spop video with a positive title on reddit, but the commenters were already aware of who she is.

It looks like in her video, that she has announced her resignation as a WoW player, likely not for the first time, stated she doesn't like FFXIV, and really only plays SWTOR, and then only in some sort of sad, lonely way. That's brilliant. That's absolutely golden.

I can play all my favorite games and never have to worry about her and her poisonous opinions ever again. Sure, she'll harp on about Sylvanas forever. That's fine, and she can enjoy her strange little bizarro corner of the internet where she's right and everyone else is either with her or total scum. And I shall not go there. And as she isn't going to be talking about WoW's newer content, she'll eventually peter off espousing her rhetoric about it, and her cult of personality will quiet down as well, not wanting to play a game made by evil "Christofacists", lest they irk the ire of their internet demagogue.

Oh this is delicious. Like a borderline hedonistic desire has filled me to jump into Hordeside Zul'jin Orgrimmar and happily sing that the witch is dead, or at least, gone. I'm not because there's no real point to it. But the desire is there all the same.

Good things really do come to those who wait!

That said... I don't think she'll be gone for long, as much as I want to believe it. She's got an obsession with the game, and a tendency to anger ruminate. Eventually she'll break and return to WoW, likely privately to avoid the accusation of hypocrisy.

Ah well.

I was going to push back on this as she’s been known to sneak around like an addict. Saying that she’s been paying her subscription with gold when caught on it. Something that is possible if you’re autistic enough but doubtful as one of our resident players explained here.

But unless I’m reading this completely wrong she’s been out since April of this year. (Maybe?)

Somewhere in the recent responses she told off a fan or an anon about how annoying it is that people make her recommendations and don't respect her telling them to stop. I think it was pre-Kiwiggeddon, but it put me in ind of when she definitely left World of Warcraft forever for real this time you guys people were recommending her FFXIV and she was telling them to stop and she already had The Old Republic.

And it just got me thinking that I know why people keep giving her recommendations and then pushing about them, and it's because she's a total ass about it.

Like when people said "Try FF-XIV!" she couldn't just say "I'm happy with SWToR, but thanks!", it was always "Look you fuckwits shut up I've tried Final Fantasy here's a dissertation about why I'm not going to play it" and then she posts this huge, contentious argument where she gets a ton of things wrong or willfully misinterprets them and shockingly her fanbase sends her a bunch of messages trying to clear up her misconceptions and she just doubles down.

That's why people keep making recommendations and arguing for them. That's why people keep talking about anime to her. Her legitimate fans are trying to have a legitimate conversation about something that Lily legitimately gets wrong, all because Lily couldn't stop being a prick for three seconds to say "Not for me, but thank you."

People here have said it's Lily's job and she should take recommendations, but I don't agree with that. I think she needs to broaden her reference pool, certainly (and do actual research, god forbid), but most of what she posts are rants about tropes she doesn't like and the people who do like them. She isn't a Mr. Enter of Saberspark or whatever who's actually routinely experiencing new things and reviewing them, and if her posted asks are anything to go by people tend to respect that. It's only when she bemoans the lack of slice-of-life lesbian romance or complains about the specific failures of a show that people pop in and say "You'd probably enjoy X", and then she starts screaming at them.

I could understand if she were fed up with people constantly telling her "Review this next!", but they don't. The recommendations she gets are fans who genuinely feel she would appreciate a thing, or just saw something and think she would like it. Somebody went out of their way to tell you -- somebody's they've never met -- about a thing you might enjoy because they were thinking of you. Even if it's not your thing, that's really nice, and it's worth a thanks, and hey, chances are somebody in your audience might appreciate it!

You don't tell them why they're wrong, call them an asshole, and then make an extremely ignorant excuse. I think a lot of the cross-discussion that Lily gets is from people who really think that she's just misinformed and are trying to explain something and not from somebody who is looking for any excuse not to engage and then mocks people for... thinking that she might enjoy something.

She wants to fuck Nathanos?

Nathanos, the character that she wrote as a sadistic rapist that rapes her OC, brands her, tortures her and ultimately gets punished for it. That Nathanos?

Idk, but i'm getting the idea about Lily LARPing as their OC much more than we think.

Yeah, she never gonna LARP as a main character which his entire life was destroyed by a civil war, travelled for a long time in the planet, reaching a point when with a group of people (progressivelly) which shares a similar goal to the world, learn more shit about it, fights against antagonist & rival people, finds finally love in the middle but, fails in the mission by not reaching in time to save his lover and creates another civil war as a consequence (not his fault, but i'll think you know how's depression). And that's only the end of a 2nd big part.

Lily loves too much conformism. And in her life entirely is based on that; complete control between, is a literal human jail.
She's bad in near anything, and yet she's still making content. I could say Lily is a DSP clone but with lesser funny moments and just plain pain eye watching shit.
I think rape scenes are more less in writing, lily. Why you're so obsseded with it?

Twilight Sparkle is also her favourite pony. Wouldn't think that going off of how Lily wrote her raping and abusing Lily's OC.

Or think that Garevoir is her favourite Pokemon given she wrote one raping her OC.

And then we had two more Tales of Phantasia streams.

Alright, I finished going trough the loot.

Not that much happens in either one. There's some bits to comment on in the first stream, the second is almost entirely barren.

First up:

-she skips the cutscenels lat lighning speed, because she layed the game like 17x already, so she says.
Sucks for the viewers who have never played the game before tho, they have no clue whats going on.

-she keeps complaining about the Tale games going from 2D to 3D. Says the 3D games suck.

-at somepoint she's explaining to chat that in Nova Scotia it isn't cold as is often believed about Canada, but very humid. SHe goes on about how she puts a bunch of ice packs in her bed to sleep. I didn't clip that, but still wanted to put it here for prosperity.

-chat wants her to show herself on cam while playing - Lily doesn't want to because then she'll have to shave and put on make up, it would take to long.
Chat then encourages her to do it anyway, but Lily doesn't want to because then she'll get floaded anons criticising her appearance.

I distinctly remember her saying that she removes all her, and wants her partners to be free of all, body hair, because otherwise it triggers her ADHD with overstimulation. Soooo-

-she gets pissy at vievers leaving the stream, and yealds for them to ''make up their minds. Either stay or go.''
Because she apparently doesn't know what a fucking stream is, and thinks that people who click on the video are under an obligation to stay and devote your time to her skipping cutscenes till the end. Otherwise they're being fickle and, oh man, you're getting dangerously close into Lizzy teritory here guys.

-now mad at her viewers, she belittles a dude for saying that ToF gives them Pokemon vibes. Probably because of the pixelart invoking nostalgia or something.

-Mikaila is planning to come to Halifax in the end of October to celebrate their one year aniversary.
Yeah, let that sink in, they've been married for one year already.

-In a turn of events, Lolo joined chat and proceedes to vent about how much harasment they're getting over their critique of Bruce Timm.
Lily comforts Lolo with a good ol' ''they're just jelly'', and that the Crimson Wrench design they did parodying Timm's art, is much better that Timm's art. Lol.
She then explains herself for once, and saysthat the problem of Timm's female character designs isn't that they're ugly, but that they're all the same body type, with no variations.
''If you took that design in an environment, where you had other female characters who didn't look like that, she would- it would be an actually interesting stand out design'' -Lily

Other female characters, who didn't look like that. Lol. This is so condescending sounding. As well as looking like she can't think of any other body shape/type herself.

Point is, even with her elaboration, she is still guilty of doing- The. Exact. Same. Thing.

-Mikaila then starts to ramble about Timm canonizing Batman X Batgirl. The offending piece of media she directs her anger at being the Animated adaptation of The Killing Joke.

Second stream, as mentioned, barely anything happens. Lily was having a good time, had fun playing the game and did lots of comments and reaction to what was happening in the game. Most of it boring, but whatever, it's rare to see her enjoy herself.

-Lily notices that in her Japanese version of the game, the spells of spellcaster are said in English. Someone in chat explained to her that this is a twist on how English games often use Latin words for their spells, therefore Japanese use English words.
I wanted to highlight this line of Lily's, because it's stupid:
Well, given that it's a Japanese game it would make sense for them to do that. I mean, It's like, pick another language and the other language just happens to be their closest friend.

-the other thing that happened is that a trans person in chat poured their heart out, about being conflicter over a former friend of her's being bullied and shit-talked. Because despite them not being friends anymore, she still cares about that person.
conflicted.png
Lily of course responds that the viewer should not deal with the problems of others, and should not feel obliged to care for a person who was cruel to viewer.
I get what Lily's trying to say, and I agree with it, it's just her lack of emphaty and wording that muddles the message of it.
You don't need to take every problem onto yourself. That's what other people are for. *chuckles* Someone else will do it. - Lily

It's also one of those things where, on another day, Lily would tell that viewer off and that she isn't her psychiatrist. Esuna got lucky that Lily was in a good mood that stream.

That's it. That's all I've got out of a two hour stream.

That's why the question always remains to me why anyone tolerates this person and keeps coming back.

The whole thing just looks like an abuse simulator where a whole bunch of insecure young people, especially insecure lonely young women and gay dudes, are primed to be taken advantage of by nasty, useless men because he may give them negative attention, but at least it's attention, and they're emotionally unhealthy enough and crave drama to the point that they will chase after violent narcissists who treat them like shit instead of risking isolation.
And the funny thing is I'll bet virtually every single one, if you asked them, would swear up and down that they'd never stay in an abusive relationship while in reality they're so drawn to abusers that they'll hang around letting bottom of the barrel losers like this degrade them and punch them around emotionally until they eventually meet someone irl who'll do it to them for real.

It's frustrating to watch, but that's the world. There will always be guys like Jerry, and there will always be people who aren't willing to demand better of and for themselves.

She's bad in near anything, and yet she's still making content. I could say Lily is a DSP clone but with lesser funny moments and just plain pain eye watching shit.
Now no reason to do Phillip dirty like that, amigo. DSP is so scared of sexual content he looks away from the screen any time an attractive character shows up, and he'd never consider abusing his wife (possibly because she's tougher than he is).

@Stuck Pooh

Twilight Sparkle is also her favourite pony. Wouldn't think that going off of how Lily wrote her raping and abusing Lily's OC.
Or think that Garevoir is her favourite Pokemon given she wrote one raping her OC.

I'm going to be that jackass who blurts out the subtext, because some people (like Jerry) need to have it explained to them: it's because he's an abusive, rapist cunt who gets off on hurting people and loves to have captive victims.

With Lily, I think, when she goes off about wanting to see more slice of life, gay romances, or whatever, she doesn't mean that she wants to be recommended new stuff, what she means is she wants to see more of those things in the media she's already familiar with. She probably expects her fans to already know this, because Lily has a bad habit of assuming her fans should immediately pick up on things that, while to her are obvious, are very hard to get the context clues for if you're an outsider.

So, yeah, how dare her fans not read her mind or just immediatly become aware of the actual meaning behind one of her rants, they should know that she doesn't want recommendations, she wants you to agree that the next WoW expac or Star Wars show should be about two lesbians frenching for 90% of the run time. I mean, what do you expect her to do, actually explain how she feels? Fuck that! Why bothering trying to express yourself and maybe work through a few of the things that are bothering you when you can get unreasonably angry in a Tumblr post that comes off to anyone but your fans as the ramblings of an ass-mad, out of touch, shut in?

Lily is feeling the squeeze. She's trying to force her channel into a better position in the algorithm by allowing more freedom of thought than she usually would permit in her comment section. With mild results that are only serving to piss her off.

I feel like the whole "it gets better later" thing is a miscommunication. The person saying it is likely trying to appeal to the sensibilities of the person they're talking to, to the point where they don't really mean what they're saying.
If this applies to you, try this: Instead of only selling the part where something "gets good", instead look at the parts before the thing "gets good" and try thinking about what purpose they serve. Do they introduce important characters? Do they train you to use important mechanics you need for later? Is it just nice to take things easy for a while before the story kicks in and the stakes get high?
As somebody who enjoys the Mario and Luigi RPGs, I know the games have lots of tutorials, but they're important for learning things you need to use later. If you skip the tutorials for the timings of basic attacks, let alone special attacks, you won't be maximizing damage for a while and you'll get hit a lot, especially in later entries where the combat can best be described as "don't blink or else". Not to mention that the games tend to have interesting opening areas that are different in appearance and atmosphere from most JRPGs.
So instead of saying "it gets better later", tell people about what there is to like in the meantime.

Honesty is the best policy. RPG's tend to be front-loaded with roadblocks, just be honest about that and people will most likely cut it more slack.
