This is what teenagers do though. They want stupid shit. They cry and rage about how the world is unfair and no one understands it but them, especially not mean adults. This is why they *need* those same rational adults in their lives who tell them to stop being fucking ridiculous. And of course they won’t listen, and they‘ll sulk and whine online and to their friends, which is exactly why they should not be the ones actually making those kinds of decisions. It’s easy for a teenager who has never been seriously ill and knows they will live forever to ignore the parts of the research they don’t want to hear, especially when trans adult creeps are telling them they’re right to ignore it. It’s a fad, but fads seem like life or death when you’re that age, and not thinking through consequences is what kids do.

Parents are partly to blame, older trans activists are very much to blame, and the medical community is downright criminal, but I’m not going to blame a stupid teenager for being a stupid teenager. They are obnoxious, slappable little fucks, but that is what teenagers are.
I can think someone is an idiot, and still feel sorry for them that they were allowed to go through with all the moronic whims their child brain came up with without enough of the adults around them protecting them by saying ’no.’

Oh yeah, I agree with you here, and this is 100% the fault of the groomers online and in the medical profession. Not the fault of the teens. It’s not easy to tell them to stop, and the people we keep track of here have made it that way. It’s a risk now to try and protect these kids from their own stupidly.
I know KF is primarily for laughing at autists, but we do also (accidentally or on purpose) provide a genuine service in being one of the few places that still hosts dissenting views that just might give someone the courage to say what they really think, and provide a counter balance to the troon narrative. Sometimes mixing business with pleasure is ok. Personally, I always feel a baseline level of empathy for anyone that regrets transitioning regardless of age. I have to admit that on occasions like these, while I’m sympathetic, I’m also baffled when people talk about the masculinizing/feminizing effects of HRT as if those aren’t the expected/desired outcomes. Not being knowledgeable about the rare, less discussed side effects is understandable. I’m referring to things such as lower voice, more hair, etc. Those are the end goal.

Though, I do feel the most empathy for the children that are transed by their parents and are far too young to truly grasp/understand any consequences/outcomes of HRT (i.e. Jazz Jennings).
