Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Exactly.
I went to a idea about how the antagonist (best way to describe a "gray villain", if you ask) of my novel is simply the protagonist but completely different in his actions and more extreme in how his ideas can change the world.
In the case of what I read, it was someone born with an evil nature in an environment that encouraged it. What I think is probably the most human, depressing thing is the passive acknowledgement of what he can't change. There are flashes of good in him and even kindness. It's buried in brutality for a position that needs it, one he can't really leave lest things fall apart in his absence. You can't just do a complete 180 after being the equivalent of a ruthless monster since you could walk though.

Finished up season 2 of Teen Titans... it's too episodic and anthological to carry a cohesive overarching story. Spectacular's definitely the better hero show.
What's your opinion on Young Justice, specifically the pre-revival seasons? I think it did pretty well at having overarching seasonal storylines but the timeskips made a lot of the storylines unecessarily messy.

Finished the last season of Teen Titans. Surprisingly better than the last two. Mixing up the formula really helped. Shame it didn't save them from cancellation. Beast Boy was still a soy boy simping ass bitch though.

It's been a long time since I've watched it. Suppose my complaints would be the obvious one: Greg's inability to let any villain be truly foiled. The reboot clarifying that the Light knows everything only makes that worse in hindsight. And, of course, the timeskip introduced too many characters you won't care about nearly as much as you did the original cast.

CN's apparently hosting a celebration livestream of all their shows right now

Dunno how long it'll last so if you want to pop in and see if your favorites are on, now would be a good time.

Speaking of which while the farms were down I checked out the new big mouth season. It's as bad as ever. Possibly the worst iteration of the show yet. I thought they hit rock bottom with the story arc involving the boy who trooned out, (yes really) but Nick kroll, Andrew, and Seth rogan (producer but may as well be a writer) never cease to disgust me.
I can't say I'm surprised it went there. I haven't even paid attention to or had any interest in this other than being viscerally disgusted every time I see screencaps from it. The art style is so utterly repulsive and degenerate I can't stand it.

See the thing is if big mouth was a legit attempt at trying to use animation to tell a coming of age story about the trails and tribulations going through puberty bring. I could give cut it some slack. Hell the early episodes do kinda go into detail about the anatomy and physiology of the body during adolescence.

BUT all that was flushed down the tubes by episode 3 and for the last 6 seasons the shows deteriorated into... Well when it's not the writers venting woke opinions on current issues then it's the writers sharing their fetishes with the viewers. This show has hit every disturbing fetish that seems to keep showing up in western animation. Mpreg, incest, feet, and even the one I can't even say but it translates from Latin to English child and lover.

I legit would not be surprised if it turns out Nick kroll has cheese pizza on his hard-drive.

The show that had a talking child vagina as part of one of its trailers is still bad?
Well frankly, I'm shocked. Flabbergasted even.

Seriously it fucking had that? One theory I've heard is the art style is so deliberately repulsive because if they get charged with CP they can say "Your Honor, nothing this ugly can possibly be porn!"

So Wendell and Wild is officially out, anyone have any first thoughts about it.
It sure looks cool.
The story goes by really fast & wants you to accept things in order for the story to work. Hell is a amusement park on a big demon's stomach, there is magic hair cream that can bring back the dead, there's this janitor in a wheelchair that collects demons who just so happens to work at the school the main character gets sent too. That kind of stuff.
Warning there is an actual tranny character in this movie, BUT she's a female to male so I have an infinite amount of more sympathy than if it was the other way around. Besides three lines the movie doesn't bring it up again. One scene had her show the lead character a photo of what she used to look like & she looks more feminine than the other girls in the picture, so I don't know if that was a jab or not.
If you're a fan of stop motion & animation I'd recommend it or if you want a newer Halloween esque movie, just keep in mind there are some things in the movie people on this website will roll their eyes at.

You know, I keep thinking back to when this movie first came out and people kept tripping themselves over why anyone want to see an overtly explicit animated move about food products swearing, yelling and having huge amounts of sexual jokes in the title.

When I saw the movie at first, I didn’t think that much of it and just thought it was Seth Rogen’s imagination gone wild. Though, the more that I think about it almost six years later, I start to realize that these overgrown adult actors acting like children are really trying to get their young years back.

Having an ”eight course television event” (:cringe:) over an already forgettable animated movie is one thing, but to see these actors really choosing to not want to give up their hyper-infantilized humor by giving something that no one asked for is really sad.
