Is Starlink its own Tier 1 provider? It doesn't matter how sympathetic a downstream ISP is to the Farms, if the upstream wants you gone then you're gone. I wasn't exactly convinced there was some shadowy plan going on in today's current year politics. No, I'm utterly convinced everything is happening by pure stupidity. They can't just buy it out right and bail Elon out because then people who support the establishment would be unhappy. So what do they do in this situation that's subtle and carefully planned? Nothing. They can't do anything with their golden goose now because as a direct consequence of their actions Twitter is in the hands of essentially a rebel.

Unless they plan on changing things through force and through blatant manipulation, this is essentially a lose-lose situation. Twitter can bleed out and die and Elon acquires a debt that he may or may not recover from, but what did the populace of America and the world just witness at the end of it all? That everything we suspected about the modern day internet and social media was correct all along?

You're right that there is no conspiracy just stupidity but wrong that this is a lose-lose situation. Elon will takeover Twitter. He'll relax the rules to Fox News and The Blaze-tier. He'll gain users from Parler and Gab and Truth. He'll increase profit by charging for blue checkmarks. Overall only the super extreme far-lefts will be triggered but everyone else will tolerate this as the new norm because it's the same as mainstream politics.

What will be interesting to see is how Elon handles censoring people who against the US Imperial War narratives on issues like Ukraine and Taiwan. Will he allow people to openly criticize the narrative? If so that actually would be a big change.

You're lucky, my main account which got banned in the Nick Fuentes wave like a year ago (because I pressed follow on one of his burners) has not even been given an actual response. It's just there, in limbo, for Platform Manipulation and Spam, and no human will look at it.
Because of the long period of inactivity and ignored appeals, the case was stealthily closed, which I only discovered as I tried submitting yet another appeal after Elon took over.
Instead, I had to open a new appeals case.
The trannies at Twitter's mod team won't let go of their power and they will not let go of making chuds irrelevant through suspensions and shadownbans either.
And when a large chud cries about it publicly, they'll just put Elon in the front of a situation such as "here's this guy that posted about black crime 49 times and 30 times he complained about police arresting some far right dude, 60 times he mocked women PoC journalists and he intentionally misgenders transgender folx".

I don't know how familiar anyone is with modern Musk's antics, but you cannot believe anything this man says at this point. - He was going to revolutionize transport with hyperloop, trains hovering like air-hocky pucks in a huge vacuum tube. This was such a clown show I can't even fit it here. Eventually it morphed into chauffeurs manually driving tesla cars single file down tunnels from station to station at about 30mph. Currently operational in Las Vegas, paid for by Nevada taxpayers.

- He's going to put them underground by digging tunnels faster and cheaper than anyone else ever with his Boring company (he did it at the same rate for the same price).

- SpaceEx will have people on Mars by 2024 (although the deadlines for all these things are constantly shifting back as they fail to materialize)

- SpaceEx will use cheaper, reusable rockets to the point a ticket to space would cost $100k or less (only one part of the rocket is reusable, and despite government contracts SpaceEx rockets are actually more expensive to make and launch than the older ones, because reusable rockets aren't actually that great an idea)

- He created an entire fake housing development to show off his completely impractical solar roofs, while pretending this was already a thing he was doing.

- He's going to create electric 18 wheelers that will be more efficient than rail he can do it right now in fact (back in 2019)

- He's going to make robots that replace human workers any day now but they have to use super-edited videos to show their embarrassing performance

I don't know if he was always full of it or if he used to buy into his own hype, but at this point the guy's on the level of a used car salesman and he knows it. i'm pretty sure that their bans and suspensions are at least 99% automated, based on parsing tweets for naughty words and phrases, and probably also on report volume, so if a couple dozen simps report you for insulting their queen, it might simply trigger an automatic temporary suspension regardless of what you did or did not say

Almost entirely automated and nothing has actually changed yet on policy or the backend. All we have coming out of it is a series of mildly-conflicting information by people 'in the know', no confirmation by Elon of anything but paying for bluechecks, and the knowledge that twitter staff are locked out of making new changes.

Personally, my bet is we won't see any changes until at least another week, possibly a month. So everyone trying to appeal their stuff now or expecting different moderation are being massively premature. Musk has to have time to wrangle Twitter into something he even can get an overview on, let alone actually start implementing changes. And no doubt he is receiving tons of resistance to even basic inquiries even now that he officially owns it.

Coinbase's free speech stance is irrelevant to industry blackballing employees because of their work history.
When Facebook was in hotwater, noone took it out on facebook employees.
I've been an interviewer at numerous companies and even wrote the latest interview process at my previous company. I can say with confidence, there is no system in place to blackball employees except in special circumstances (ie candidate sued employer in high profile case). At the end of the day tech companies are forced to be exceedingly practical. They cannot afford to not hire qualified engineers.
