I was surprised to see that 18% of people from this poll said they would pay for verification.
1,957,834*0.18 = 352,410 willing paypigs on the low end (hypotheitical $5 tier) that's almost 2 million per month in subscriptions. Is that significant? I guess it depends on their costs going forward.

I get a sense though that there were many people who wanted verification, and were unable to get it for various political reasons. I know @disclosetv wanted verification a while back, and they wondered why they couldn't get it even though they have a massive following. All they do is report headline news. You had to be in the right club, saying the correct things, abiding by the rules of the narrative to have a check bestowed upon you for the most part. Isn't that why "bluechecks" on twitter is a stereotype, because they encompass a certain ideology/opinions?

MANGA/FAANG/MAANG/FAGMAN whatever was a financial term. It has little relevance in the actual hiring market, especially today.
Facebook caught a lot of heat a while ago and engineers there have no trouble getting hired anywhere else.
Side note, Twitter used to be known as a place where you could work relatively chill hours while still being paid high tech compensation. That's probably not going to be true anymore since Elon is a work autist and hates remote work.

For some reason you got it in to your head that as soon as he walked in the door the systems that run twitters moderation, suddenly shut down. I too was watching /pol/ spam nigger on the site.
