So any predictions on how they will fuck up CK3 in the future?
The core of CK3 is already fucked, since neither culture, religion, nor gender affects anything.
I was happy with how CK2 only let you play Christian rulers at launch - because the events, rules, and expectations of the game were centered around Catholic European rulers from 1066-1453. This was expanded over time, with different cultures like muslims and steppe nomads being given unique events, rules, and expectations added afterwards.
CK3, however, has tried to do a universal framework that works for French kings on the cusp of the renaissance, Byzantines counts during the Alexiad, Kipchak nomads, and Tibetans all at the same time. The end result is that they they are all subject to the same events, rules, and expectations. There is no core experience centered around what most players want, there are only vague events that could work for some of the known world for a few hundred years. This is the case for both religion AND culture.
This means that neolithic Subsaharran tribes in 867 play exactly the same as English kings in 1450. You will face the same events, dilemmas, and decisions. Are you the devout muslim caretaker of Mecca? Your feast was a disaster since you ran out of alcohol. A heretic vassal escaped the confinement of a completely empowered ruler after you imprisoned them for treason? If you as much as attempt to imprison them, everyone will greatly dislike you.
No matter who you play as in the most current patch in CK3, you will be able to beat women to death because you have the 'wrothful' trait, and nobody (not even their husbands) will dislike you for it. The depth of CK3s simulation is that hacking an axe into the neck of Aliénor of Aquitaine would have solved the 100 years war, it seems.
