nahh, the chat was the issue in so many fucing crashes in other paradox games and nobody uses them anyway...

Bokoen1 who did take the sponsorship and made a video shilling the mp, omitted the fact that they had to make a mod to make it playable. Total shitshow.
Bo will do anything for money...

fake-depth, where there's a bunch of systems in place, but they ultimately feel totally inconsequential.
That's pretty much every Paradox release after HoI4, stuffed with meaningless empty activities that don't really interact with anything in a meaningful way beyond giving the player something to waste time with. Take raw resources in Victoria II vs Victoria 3, in the former they were tied to provinces as an innate property thereof and their output is dependent on not only the overall economy but also how well you manage your pops, technology, laws and infrastructure as these variables are all interconnected and will wax and wane in ways that make some deal of sense thus creating a system that actaully has a decent amount of depth to it, whereas in Victoria 3 resources are not innate but rather a type of building that can be built to a cap determined by the amount of resource potential or arable land the state has, with the latter further subdivided by certain provinces having the potential for agricultural goods not available in others, which results in a system that feels artificial and lifeless due to it being tethered to the game's lacklustre construction system and the only meaningful interaction it has being with the market.

The majority of my issues with Victoria 3 are actually centered around the construction system, or rather how the developers chose to tie all resource generation and production to buildings and to give each of those buildings a dozen or so assorted production options to give the idea of depth when in reality every option boils down to increasing throughput via adding more input materials whilst reducing or changing the pops requireed to keep it running, which is something that was relegated to technology back in Victoria II because at the end of the day it's just busywork that the game didn't need to have you do because there were other things to keep you invested. The change from artisans and RGOs to the subsistance farming building which arbitrarily limits your pops to a low lifestyle, no matter what, is shit too and only serves as a motivation to build things to increase standard of living because apparantly that's all that matters in this game.

And don't get me started on Diplomacy and Interest Groups...

I really don't get it. How they can release game like CK3 which is direct upgrade even without DLC's, compared to CK2. The whole UI and tolltips are probably like the best they come up with, even such retard as me, picked quite fast how to play it and do well because things were explained in easy way. Then they release shit like Vicky 3 and they spin it around making it much worse then previous tittle and even UI, is much worse. I don't think no amount of DLC's and marketing can save it. Anyone playing it right now will get bored eventually as there isn't a lot of replay value in it. Shills will eventually stop shilling it. I think in about month or two it will flop and player count is going to be the lowest. Reviews are already slowly dropping below 60% positive feedback. There's too much things to rework and overhaul to save it.

CK3 was crap at launch too. The only saving grace was that the foundation of the game was just a clone of CK2 with fancier graphics and your Priest making hostile claims instead of your chancellor. Beyond that CK2 had way more content at the time but in true paradox fashion they slowly added more until CK3 was a passable experience.

In the case of Victoria 3, they didn't take Victoria 2 as the basis. They tried to reinvent the wheel. And modern Paradox has little in common with Paradox from a decade ago. They don't understand what makes their games FUN.

The Fun for Paradox Grand Strategy players is NOT in clicking on pointless tables and min maxing. It's in acting out REALISTIC historical WHAT IF scenarios.

WHAT IF Novgorod united Russia instead of Muscovy.

WHAT IF Mexico won the Mexican American War.

WHAT IF Scotland conquered England.

WHAT IF Chezkoslovakia rejected the Munich Agreement, went to war with Germany...and won.

The key kicker though being that each what if scenario is believable and creates its own emergent story to justify complicated game mechanics.

Sadly the writing was on the wall for modern Paradox when they came out with the sunset invasion expansion for EU4. All I had to do to absolutely wreck the Europeans as the Inca was agree to burn enemy chieftains in fire pits for a few decades to amass enough reform points, and then like a Christmas miracle I could build galleons, modern artillery and fucking HORSE CAVALRY FOR SOUTH AMERCA IN THE FUCKING 1500s.

It was stupid, and blatant power fantasy about reverse colonization. To the point that if you start as the fucking Cherokee in EU4, you are GUARANTEED great power status by the 1700s.

Victoria 3 is just the final stage of this cancer.

As much as I want to shit on Paradox for Victoria 3 the one thing I will give them is that despite of all the anti confederate shit going on in the past couple of years they still included Dixie as it's own distinct culture.

Not if he has anything to say about it.

So as I expected, with the release of Victoria 3 and it's attempt at filling out the entirety if Africa with nations, has simply lead to mass complaints from everyone, especially from the people Paradox tried to placate. Youtube is now filled with Wakandaboos with ludicrous accents bitching because their favorite black ethnicity is not the strongest regional power in their region. A lot of complaints about borders not fitting with their headcanon, and even more complaints as Africa is not compromised of 500 micro states with an average population of 2000 monkeys.
And this is exactly why you don't give Wakandaboos an inch

Are these actual Africans whining about how their tribe and its history isn't portrayed right? I've gotta see it, African tribalism makes Balkan nationalists look positively civil.

And of course random tribe in middle of Africa have literacy rate aroud 20-30 % in 1836 . And considering there is only one tech tree shared by everyone, that same tribe will have steam engines in 1840s. And will be on same tech level with Western Europe in 1850s.

Anyway there is lot of cope on YouTube, pdx forums and Reddit. They believe there is this conspiracy by 4Chan, this New Zealand Agriculture forum and V 2 multiplayer autists to mass negative review game on steam to make it fail and destroy Paradox. Lol

PS: Game have 63% on steam at the moment

And in usual fashion, more DLC will be added for Cities: Skylines, yet again:

The World Tour content include some Korean-related items, including a K-Pop Station (although I doubt it'll actually be licensed music), Financial Districts, and an African Vibes station.

So any predictions on how they will fuck up CK3 in the future?
What do you mean "in the future"? They're doing a good job of fucking it up now from what I've heard. Maybe not Vicky 3 bad, but its definitely a step down from CK2.

Having played it, its not that bad at all. It has most of the content from the first game, plus more (like a larger) map, and the only thing that really seems to be missing right out of the box is the ability to play republics, for whatever reason. Add-on content ain't really worth it outside of a deep sale, though. Then Paradox showed what money grubbing assholes they are by increasing the price of both the DLCs ($20 to $30) and the flavor packs ($7-$13) after they had already released them.

I meant going forward, what woke shit and messing up older stuff released with new dlc like they did in HoI with i think boats (maybe planes?) not that long ago or the buff Natives got towards the end of EU4

The core of CK3 is already fucked, since neither culture, religion, nor gender affects anything.
I was happy with how CK2 only let you play Christian rulers at launch - because the events, rules, and expectations of the game were centered around Catholic European rulers from 1066-1453. This was expanded over time, with different cultures like muslims and steppe nomads being given unique events, rules, and expectations added afterwards.
CK3, however, has tried to do a universal framework that works for French kings on the cusp of the renaissance, Byzantines counts during the Alexiad, Kipchak nomads, and Tibetans all at the same time. The end result is that they they are all subject to the same events, rules, and expectations. There is no core experience centered around what most players want, there are only vague events that could work for some of the known world for a few hundred years. This is the case for both religion AND culture.
This means that neolithic Subsaharran tribes in 867 play exactly the same as English kings in 1450. You will face the same events, dilemmas, and decisions. Are you the devout muslim caretaker of Mecca? Your feast was a disaster since you ran out of alcohol. A heretic vassal escaped the confinement of a completely empowered ruler after you imprisoned them for treason? If you as much as attempt to imprison them, everyone will greatly dislike you.
No matter who you play as in the most current patch in CK3, you will be able to beat women to death because you have the 'wrothful' trait, and nobody (not even their husbands) will dislike you for it. The depth of CK3s simulation is that hacking an axe into the neck of Aliénor of Aquitaine would have solved the 100 years war, it seems.
