In addition to appearing on the harassment whinefest at SxSW today, Flynt/Wu is one of three panelists presenting something titled "Can VR Deliver More Emotion than Movies and Games?"

It's interesting that not a single one of the panelists has any experience whatsoever in actually working in the VR field. Flynt/Wu should feel right at home, except for the fact that the other two panelists actually have college degrees -- one in psychology from Stanford and the -- gasp! -- man with a degree in electrical engineering -- and have worked for real companies in the gaming industry. I'm tempted to attend, just in case the other panelists are cranky and start correcting everything that Flynt/Wu says that's wrong or stupid or both wrong and stupid.

Here's the non-description -- apparently written by someone who neither thinks clearly nor speaks English -- of what the panel will cover:

Imagine a virtual world where you the creator have complete control where the player literally enters the realm of your imagination and you have direct access to their emotions. Today’s VR headsets stand at intersection of movie-like immersion and the compelling interactive agency of games. VR is an empathy machine. Based on the panel’s year of VR development and research it's emotion that unlocks VR’s unprecedented levels of immersion and presence not nice looking 3D art. This panel is a deep dive into five new ways to create stronger emotions in VR. Most people assume that the language of cinema and traditional game tropes port well into VR. However, nothing could be further than the truth.

I hope the dude mansplains to her, if only for Wu's reaction

Has Amanda S. Warner ever mentioned Natalie?

According to the articles in which Natalie is mentioned, both Warner and Wu have acknowledged her existence, pregnancy and all. In fact, the story goes they hired Natalie knowing full well about her pregnancy and hired her anyway.

However, since Warner has been the silent partner in all this, either she had no input when this crap was written or she's a willing accomplice to this lie who has largely stayed in the shadows.

I imagine he'll be told to check his damned privilege at the door. A degree in electrical engineering ain't gonna do him no good at all against the racist redneck Tranzilla of Tech Feminists.

About that whole press accreditation thing: I don't think Wu knows how easy it is to get a press pass at most venues.

I was able to get into the Games Convention (when it was still the biggest Convention in Germany) and after that into Gamescom easy, just for being long time staff of a big games forum. Like, all I had to do was upload a fucking screenshot of my name appearing in the "Impressum" and a week later I got my press passes. I've done that twice for both to get in free and nobody gave a shit.

And those are BIG conventions compared to fucking SXSW.

SXSW won't exclude people that might give them press just because of barely passable credentials. And Milo/other Breitbart people probably have a god damn International Press Card or something. IF they are there Wu can do fuck all to convince the Con to remove them because they have, as press, infinitely more clout than Wu.

On an unrelated note I present three deleted tweets. Dont think they got caught.

It's good to just have Wu's feed open in a ab. The "(x) new messages" clicky-thingy loads tweets even when they are deleted.

Yes, Hillary. Listen to the man who's 0% bold and 100% bitch.

What the fuck am I reading?

For all that Wu gushes about VR, has he ever even gotten a development kit and fiddled with it? I thought the Oculus Rift, Vive, and the other VR headsets aren't being made compatible with Macs.

They can be made compatible but macs are so terrible that doesn't even meet the requirements to use VR , palmer even talked about it saying that he will made occulus compatible with Macs only when they made a good computer, and yes he bought a occulus without having a computer powerful enough to use it

Now john, a huge applefag, has ever less reasons to be there

I believe it's more a matter of Apple not making a Mac with a GPU powerful enough to handle VR. And when they finally do, the price will likely be astronomical.

As opposed to my PC, which despite being 7 years old now only needed a video card upgrade to be VR ready.

Panels are supposed to be balanced when its about discussing new tech like this, by my understanding.

I suppose having someone who has no fucking clue what they're talking about 90% of the time counts as an opposing view point.

Virtual reality is like a really big lie that your brain believes.
So Flynt is an expert.

That's not the only issue here, just remember the frame rate drops Rev 60 tends to have. Even if Apple would make a computer with enough power to handle VR, the thing probably can't barely handle any of the poorly optimized 'games' GSX is going to poop out. Not that Wu is going to make any kind of game in the near future, at the moment GSX consists of one person who is promising a steam port to be released "very soon" for over a year now.

Apparently the dog(s) dig Soylent.

I don't know much about the stuff other than that it's basically ground up multivitamin/trace element supplements mixed with starch, lipids and sugar that is advertised as some sort of food Ersatz. Shouldn't be harmful to animals, but I seriously hope the poor buggers aren't actually allowed to slobber that shit and then don't get any real food because "Frank, they already had Soylent! Don't bother!".

I just don't understand the appeal of not wanting your body to digest food by drinking something the consistency of cake batter that might as well have been digested for you in a factory.

It would have to be for more money before the feds would even look at it.
Could the state and city look at it? With all the tax credits Boston gives out for tech they may want to make sure everything is in check. Also buying video games and claiming them as a tax write off or alluding to such on twitter when your home is also the same place as your office doesnt look good.

I thinks Asperlie would be more appropriate.
Ha! Asper-LIE

Incidentally, if the Medium article writer wants an identity of a donor to burn, he can go grab one from the Patreon dump.
Heres a question. Does the Patreon dump show which donors are Wu sockpuppets or not??

Wu's harassment panel is going on now. Quick, someone get in email contact with Natalie!

*EDIT* Shit I forgot about the timezone change. It doesn't start until 10:30 Boston time, 9:30 Texas time.

*EDIT* There are three panels happening at the same time. Even if John shouts over everyone he doesn't have a monopoly on attention here.

Does anyone have a link to that radio show that Wu wrote? I'm sure it's in the thread somewhere but it's a really big thread.
