Given the atrocious state of Nick's health (especially teeth -- poor dental health has been linked to heart disease), not to mention the common fate of child rapists in prison, it shouldn't be surprising if Nick dies sooner than later.

Unfortunately, the State has a responsibility to protect his health. If he gets an abscess, they'll deal with it in the cheapest way possible.
This is because of those cases of wrongful imprisonment. If the State lets an inmate fester away into death and is later exonerated, it looks really bad for the State, and lawsuits.

I can't be assed to go back and see who was talking about stamps (I think it was nool), but yes, it's common practice to make inmates buy stamps out of their commissary funds.
Basically, a lot of your rights are stripped away, and are treated as privileges. If you can't afford stamps, you can't write people. That's one of the things that convicts use to guilt their family into sending them money.
They can buy things like chips, cookies, etc. too. I'm not sure what the deal is with drinks, since they could make a weapon from a soda can, or even a juice box straw.
That's one of things to consider before being a fuckwit and getting sent to prison, though.

Here is a counterplan: @Null doesn't mention anything about either @Ancani or @maddipuppy in his letter, and if Nick mentions either of them in his letter, it gets redacted. He can't hurt you while behind bars, and you've already gone through the process of blocking him from ever mailing you again.

He's in prison. He's not getting out any time soon, possibly ever. No one's safety is at stake. Whether Null sends a letter or not, his obsession isn't going to change.
I understand being the target of a shit eating pedophile isn't fun, but the danger, as much as it was since Nick was terrified of people and never ventured out, is passed. The most he can do is write letters, if he has money, and he'll probably lose that privilege if the DA is contacted.

So long as Null doesn't mention a victims name, I don't think I see a problem. Especially because that's probably the most "controlled" form of writing we'll get out of Nick. I'd, personally, prefer Null doing it (without names) than some random ween doing it pretending to be one of the victims or using their name to get a response. We do not, under any circumstances, what it to seem like the victims are pushing for contact with Nick and we don't want to give Nick a reason to try and keep contact with them.

But, a random writing to him really doesn't do much but give Nick a way to vent. And while many of us think him never having contact with the outside world would be fine, actually hearing what he thinks happened to him would be ...interesting. We've seen how warped Chris changes things, it'd be interesting to see how warped it gets with Nick.

However, maybe @Null could wait until everything for blocking letters to the victims is set up? Just to make sure they're protected.
