I posted this elsewhere, but I figured it's worth crossposting:
At 10:50 in this video where Vergie says: "If science isn't serving humanitarian ends, then what is the point that we're doing? Like, what's the point of it? And it's like, right! Are we making science for aliens? I mean, you know what I'm saying? So if by our scientific notion of whatever health is right now, if that's excluding 68% of the population, which is the plus size population, if that's excluding 70-ish percent of the US population, then it's not working. - It's not working."
I think that betrays a lot not only about the HAES mentality, but how the average normie approaches "science" as an authority as well.
Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled content.
Bekah in a spoiler because she's mentuls again
This one kind of makes me sad, to be honest. I think she's actually autistic and she's emulating what she sees from the other fat acceptance chucklefucks.
She could have been saved.
I can walk anywhere I want (lucky me) and hike for fun, but the gym has equipment I don't have at home, so it's fun to "play" with and listen to podcasts or music or whatever.

In a completely unprecedented turn of events, a body positive, lgbt, gen z with autism and chronic pain popped up on my tiktok today. I feel like she could be related to Splotchy.

That's why it's better to think of the gym not as a place where you go to burn off calories, but as a place where you go to actively do something like build muscle or catch up on audiobooks or whatever. This is probably the first thing I will ever agree with with a deathfat about. Hopefully, it's the last.
Going to the gym makes me think about how stupid it is that I need an artificial means of burning calories when there are billions of people on the same planet who would love to have enough to eat. It kind of makes everything feel even more pointless and hollow than usual, and reminds me of this very old point-counterpoint piece from the Onion: I'm So Starving versus I'm So Starving.
