Fat Acceptance Movement / Fat Girlcows

I posted this elsewhere, but I figured it's worth crossposting:
At 10:50 in this video where Vergie says: "If science isn't serving humanitarian ends, then what is the point that we're doing? Like, what's the point of it? And it's like, right! Are we making science for aliens? I mean, you know what I'm saying? So if by our scientific notion of whatever health is right now, if that's excluding 68% of the population, which is the plus size population, if that's excluding 70-ish percent of the US population, then it's not working. - It's not working."
I think that betrays a lot not only about the HAES mentality, but how the average normie approaches "science" as an authority as well.

Anyway, back to our regularly scheduled content.
Bekah in a spoiler because she's mentuls again

In a completely unprecedented turn of events, a body positive, lgbt, gen z with autism and chronic pain popped up on my tiktok today. I feel like she could be related to Splotchy.

This one kind of makes me sad, to be honest. I think she's actually autistic and she's emulating what she sees from the other fat acceptance chucklefucks.
She could have been saved. (:_(

This is probably the first thing I will ever agree with with a deathfat about. Hopefully, it's the last.

Going to the gym makes me think about how stupid it is that I need an artificial means of burning calories when there are billions of people on the same planet who would love to have enough to eat. It kind of makes everything feel even more pointless and hollow than usual, and reminds me of this very old point-counterpoint piece from the Onion: I'm So Starving versus I'm So Starving.
That's why it's better to think of the gym not as a place where you go to burn off calories, but as a place where you go to actively do something like build muscle or catch up on audiobooks or whatever.
I can walk anywhere I want (lucky me) and hike for fun, but the gym has equipment I don't have at home, so it's fun to "play" with and listen to podcasts or music or whatever.

That Ulta vid with Virgie has nearly 85,000 views and only 81 upvotes. That has to be some kind of a record.

And much like the Dylan Mulvaney disaster, some slobbering minion is handling the responses:

The gym isn't primarily for burning calories, it burns hilariously few calories for most routines. The purpose of exercise is to improve other aspects of health, heart function, mood, etc. Yes, it is still privileged to not be doing manual labor, but it really is silly to view any exercise as purely a reaction to caloric excess.

I do not understand the "I feel foolish" crap, and the only people I've heard this from were obese and up. It's a strange ego thing to find exercise embarrassing, especially when it can be done in private in the first place. Don't people find getting winded by a flight of stairs embarrassing? Having a 350lb person ask me how I do exercise without feeling stupid amazed me, they don't feel a general shame when they can't even stand up from the floor or lift a bag of groceries?

And fuck's sake, listen to an audio book, watch a show, listen to music, play a fucking video game, listen to a lecture, listen to a podcast, set up a standing desk and work. How people think you have to exercise staring agape at the wall is beyond me.

These people are so out of touch with reality. Old Navy just lost tens of millions of dollars because they hiked up all the prices on sizes from XS-6X so they could do an in-store rollout of extreme plus sizes and nobody bought them. It's unlikely that any other major retailer will try this considering how big of a failure it was. Suze should just wrap a king size sheet around her gunt. She could get one for like 15.99 at Target, cheaper than anything they sell at specialty fatty stores like Torrid.
The difference between an XS and a 4XL is like the difference between a beach towel and a boat sail.
I’m an amateur seamstress, I like to make clothes as a hobby for myself and sometimes as gifts. The difference in fabric between straight sizes is usually an extra 4 inches width and height per pattern piece, which adds up very very quickly. The difference with plus size patterns is more drastic, probably 6-12 inches more between each pattern size up. Making a dress usually costs me $20 for fabric since I have equipment and notions, but the times I’ve made plus garments, that number can easily balloon to $60 or more due to extra fabric and interfacing. I’ve made quick blouses and skirts out of small pieces of fabric scrap, but I’ve never ever been able to salvage something for a bigger person out of an ordinary garment.

In the sweatshops most cheap clothing comes from, they have machines that stack layers of fabric and cookie-cut out pattern pieces so they can mass produce the same garment. When fatties demand a line of plus sizing, the pattern has to be drastically altered- it’s not just a matter of sizing the pieces up, the whole construction of the garment has to be adjusted to make it look similar to the original when finished. Less pieces can be cut from the same piece of fabric. If the cutter machine could cut 500 small dresses from 1,000 yards of fabric, the 4XL is only going to make 150 from 1,000 yards.
Despite fatties claiming corporations have a moral obligation to charge them less or whatever, the extra fabric is not negligible.

“Exercising is like digging a hole in the ground for no reason” has got to be one of the most retarded arguments against exercising that I’ve ever heard.
They just don’t get it.

Schlubby geeks have this superiority/inferiority complex about weightlifters where they cope into the abyss that “I’d rather read a good book or play a game with friend than waste time pointlessly building muscles” - like they’re smart for being fat and chads are dumb for being fit. Usually it’s the opposite, if you care about your body you care about your mind, and your workout routine is a single brick in your roster of hobbies and interests. Working out is a great way to double dip on that book or show you’ve been wanting to catch up on, instead of just sitting around your room watching or reading the same things.

Ambitious grift, but I doubt she'll make a lot of money with it.

Also Lizzo saying she feel stunnin' (gag) with her
>fake hair
>fake nails
>fake lashes
>five layers of make-up that reshaped her face
>shapewear
>nasty brown-green bodysuit

All that money and effort just to look ridiculous and fat. It looks exhausting.

>reeee fat is not a disease
>uses "ableist" in the next fucking sentence

Disabled people literally define themselves as a group because they live with one disease state or another you dense motherfuckers. Actual disability activism was originally all about securing equal rights and equal opportunity, absolutely - they wanted the right to earn a fucking living and be as independent as possible, and for people to realize that disabled people may need accommodations to do certain things, but they absolutely were capable of more than being locked away in an institution and forced to live from the charity of others with no legal agency over their life. REASONABLE accommodations were a means of actually minimizing their dependence on others, which was why they busted their ass to secure them in the first place. The crippled veterans and polio survivors who founded the movement would wonder what your fucking problem is - you are allowed to live as you please, have your giant novelty ass wiper stick delivered to your door, secure your own internet service which gives you infinite opportunities to generate income or consoom virtually anything without leaving your bedroom. I would love to hear their response if you cried to them that your big civil rights issue is that Size 5x isn't consistent between tarp merchants and science hasn't conceived of a way to keep you as healthy as a 25 year old distance runner while you walk <100 steps and eat 3500kcal of fried carbs daily.

Fat activists really need to appreciate trannies because if it weren't for them, FA's would be the group with the least self awareness on the planet.

>being diagnosed with an ED is a privilege

Oh just absolutely fuck off. I don't even have it in me to try and differentiate between all the levels of entitled, oblivious and self-righteous this is.

I got curious and found an interesting thread. It's more difficult than I thought to find photos of her without makeup, even an article where it's all "Lizzo goes makeup free" has her wearing makeup, and another one is "Lizzo's no-makeup makeup look!"
Turns out she's got some insecurities, which we knew, it's obvious.

I fear they are making real world gains.

Anecdotal bullshit: At the doctor, I was asked "are you okay with being weighed?" for the first goddamned time in my life, by a normal sized nurse, in a place I've gone for decades.

I really, really fucking hope that was one weird nurse and not a health system-wide change to appease tantrums. It just sounds so much like a check on their list of demands it was a little nauseating.

This is right after watching a BMI 50/A1C 12/neck girth of a garbage can/treatment noncompliant person leave the same system after a week+ hospital stay (let's say this stay was full of piss, shit, a roommate complaining about the smell until the nurses were forced to do a wipe bath, and attention seeking lies so a 33 yr old didn't have to move once) claiming doctors "had no idea" why she had congestive heart failure issues. I thought it was a self placating lie, but this makes me wonder if the doctor's flat out were told not to explain consequences to people.

Apologies for PL, this is just disgusting to see HAES echoed in the medical establishment , and I hope it's just a ego sparing lies and traumatized nurses.
