Anyone remember Shape Shifter?

He did an interview with a detransitioned man named Billy who had srs and then phalloplasty:

Billy is a victim of sexual abuse and bullying. After his genital mutilation, he was bleeding so badly that he needed blood transfusions. He now realized that he transitioned to cope with the terrible things that had been done to him. But he didn't just have srs, he had many different surgeries (voice, adams apple, brow, nose...).

At 22:55 they talk about voice surgery...and it turns out both of their voices are extremely damaged because of this. I didn't even know that this surgery can make you lose the abillity to change the volume of your voice. Horrifying!

Then there is also the sad fact that these men are both stating that they transitioned and had all these unnecessary surgeries to finally be happy. Go to 29:01 and look at Shape Shifters reaction when Billy talks about how he isolated himself after transitioning because he was unable to be open about his past. It's people like him and Billy I feel sorry for. Not the shrieking gaydens, not the disgusting agp fetishists.

Billy eventually found Jesus and detransitioned. I'm happy for him although religion is another can of worms. Note how he talks about how he learned that thoughts can come from god or the devil. Poor Billy, what he needs is to stop coping. It's not the devil that caused his suicidal thoughts - it's his traumatic experiences. But nonetheless detransition and religion improved his life. He even got married.

All was well you might think. Nope! Because Billy had a phalloplasty (starting at 44:22) ...and guess what? The same shit that is happening to ftms happened to him. The surgeon lied to him and did such an awful job that Billy paid him to remove the fake dick. Jesus Christ, this poor man went trough a lot.

Shape Shifter explained in another video that interviewing people feels very unnatural to him, and he feels very self conscious doing it, so putting on make up calms him and helps him focus. It's a displacement activity to help anxiety, essentially.

Edit: ninja'd. He's quite passionate about helping detransitioners get their messages out, and I guess this is how he feels he's helping.

Yeah, it does come off as a little vapid but I have watched a lot of stuff with Shape before and I think he's just always in a constant state of unease and he fidgets because he can't cope with being still. I generally feel pretty bad for him and I think he does a lot of good speaking out in public about the dangers of transition though.
