eeeeee...huge patch today, 8 hour downtime, apparently going to have a bunch of DF related content ready when servers come back up, so excited, was going to take a nap but I don't think I'll be able to

Yep drakthyr new dungeon. Think they will actually release all the new transmog? They stated we'd get common/gray transmog then not another word.

Was gonna pick it up then this shit dropped.

The new cinematic is literally shot for shot of the FF14 advertisement but with dragons, it's pretty shameful and shows how much Blizzard wants that FF14 cock.

The launch stream is a great cringe view really, it transitions from dead-eyed people to total speds. It shows how desperate they are for this to land though, I have played since day one but SL and BFA broke me, I gave my last chance on SL. The more I keep seeing from players who played beta, they don't know what the fuck they are doing now.

I am not going to lie FF14 really took me, I and my partner play it and that game especially if you are a couple is a joy. You can have a house, get married, and pretty much do everything but raid but it's a pretty talkative game. We tried playing wow as a couple and it's so fucking dull, playing 2 players just rewards nothing and the world is not immersive anymore.

That trailer is not fooling anyone except mega retards the game is in a lot of trouble player wise and it's coming down to the wire. I looked at my realm before I went and it was dead, classic and classic BC is dead.

It definitely isn't even a shadow of what it used to be for the lore, atmosphere, community, you name it. I've been playing WoW since just after launch and its the only vidya I have ever been good at, and I still REALLY enjoy the sometimes complex PvP and challenges of playing a skill based class well, so I stuck with it. Aside from a few breaks after MOP and during BFA I haven't really ever been this attached to any video game. Hell I hardly play anything else and really don't even like video games that much tbh.

My biggest regret was not getting in on WoW Classic when it dropped. It is a little too far along for me now so I'll stick to retail. I really do enjoy the PvP but I miss the community atmosphere that has long since died. All my friends quit and the few people I still do play with are just so empty and impersonal. Everyone just gets what they need and then bails, even large guilds barely even speak to each other anymore.

I think about these depressing parts of this game I once loved with all my little pre-teen heart, but honestly the good that still exists here for me outweighs the bad.

Holy shit that trailer just seemed like a TLDR version of the How To Train Your Dragon movies, if you showed me that with no context I really would not have connected it to WoW. The cinematics have always been cool, especially WOTLK, but these last ones have just fell flat for me. Theres no stakes or intrigue set for me by these cinematics, I don't feel any drive to find anything out about the next expacs story. Which probably isn't saying much seeing how blizz has thrown out cohesion for "cool/progressive" shit but it really was something that used to get me hooked when I was younger. I remember watching the Wrath cinematic and getting excited to learn who the guy in armour was and if I could kill him, these ones just make me think its a dragon riding simulator. It's depressing looking at the direction WoW has gone, especially after growing up reading as many lore books as I could and watching my uncle do classic raids when I was a child. As gay as it is to say, WoW was a big part of my childhood and the source of all my gaming nostalgia. Watching its twitching corpse get covered in glitter just really isn't doing it for me. Power to you lot who can manage to keep playing the game despite getting spit in the mouth every time but this shit is just depressing.

I've been having fun with Dracthyr. I don't have much else to say other than the class is genuinely fun for me.

oh my goodness grape dracthyr are mighty gay. Especially the splash art for the loading screen.

look at that fucking art, it looks like the cover of some deviantart hentai created by some faggot with blue hair who sliced off his weiner and has #BLM and #ACAB in their twitter bio

Evoker has been fun to play but I think this is my last month for playing the game. All they've managed to do is fuck up all through out the expansion. PVP next expansion looks to be a complete shit show and that's all I do in the game as I hate the attempt at "dungeons" in their game which I don't find fun at all. Not to mention the player base is filled with soy's that can only complain about Trump in chat. It was a decent two years after leaving BFA as that expansion just wasn't fun at all, but I think I'm going to trade in all of my tokens for cash on my account and put it towards Diablo 4.

And is it normal, for these types of statues to take 10 months to make and ship out to buyers?
It seems to be something similar to what Magic the Gathering has done with Secret Lairs (at least, at one point): they don't have any ready to sell now, they take orders, then they make them to demand - usually replete with errors. Wizards (who makes the game) also just had a really, really bad Q3 earnings report - coming out just around when they announced charging $1000 dollars to people for proxy cards (non-tournament legal).

It seems like faltering businesses that have shit all over their playerbases for years on end seem to be drawing from similar playbooks of charging out the ass for trash.

Yeah. It's funny when paired with the 'they're chasing FFXIV' sentiment. They reaaaaaaaaally want to try and recapture people's interest and tap into the FFXIV segment.

But they're trying to chase a game that has a (for an MMO) strong narrative and is constructed very differently. WoW's strength was always big "epic moments" and set pieces and shit. Now is not the time to have a vague/ambiguous stab at storytelling (because we all saw how that worked with the Jailer, lmao.)

The problem they have is they've put all their eggs into the 'dragons!' basket and they sorta already shot their load with Deathwing and Cataclysm. Big fuckoff dragon big baddie doesn't have the same impact when you already spent an entire expansion diving into that concept. They really sorta should've fleshed things out a bit.

TBC, Wrath, Cata, you all have the main antagonist set up and the general direction of the content. MoP? Same thing, with the notion of what they were kinda trying to push for (both sides working 'together.')

Two people riding dragons. And riding dragons. And riding dragons. XIV can get away with a trailer of people riding chickens because of how it delivers the narrative. WoW, really, can't.

I'm so looking forward to people bitching about this come February or so. I hope the game is fun for those who are gonna be sinking hours into it, but I'm not optimistic.

Random silly Tauren face on the character select screen more enjoyable than all other WoW content of the last ten years. Longer probably

Seeing that you might be fooled into thinking for a second you could still log on and shitpost barrens general chat like it's 2006 again

>community
I'd say classic has even less of that since it's fuller of (loud) retards from what I've seen. nowhere near close to vanilla.

tbh if that's what you're looking for, you need to grab a niche MMO, or at least one that's not MUH WOW MUH FF14 (although I'd go as far and say even the latter has a better community), simply because you're more likely to find people that WANT to be there, not think they HAVE to be there to be cool or trendy playing LE POPULAR MMO LOOK AT THE SUB NUMBERS BRO!
it doesn't help that pvp in WOW is ass anyway shameless plug: try the grind to become emperor in ESO, you'll find plenty of community there

mind you the same expansion that's not so fondly remembered for various reasons (world revamp, dragon soul). didn't they go full HAM with green jesus in cata too?

they could go full story mode in WoW, which never had the highest bar to begin with, in part due to the writers knowing when to let imagination do it's thing. with nublizz it's like expecting a traditional heterosexual lovestory from bioware.

Why do woke writers always write everything so expository or emotionally manipulating?

Normal Writer:
"So how did a poor sap like you end up in such a peculiar chair?"
*chuckles* "Long story, the creche happened and lost my leg and wing in the process. Ain't all bad, however, gives me plenty of time to tinker and engineer titan parts for my clan. Never really was one for fighting anyhow."

Woke Writer:
"Wow, nice wheelchair! How did you end up in that?"
"The creche happened and <he sighs glancing at his injured wing and leg> I lost my leg and wing in the process. I thought it would I would be useless to my clan. That I would be a detriment to my people, but I found out it made me stronger because now I can provide my clan with engineering and tinkering!"

shame it's getting slowly (more) pozzed.
