At what point did this even become normalized and accepted? I know Biden isn't the only president to use speech cards, and idk I just lament that we don't even have leaders that give enough of a shit about what they say to speak from the heart. That's obviously not possible with pudding brain Joe, and Trump going off the cuff sometimes worked great sometimes not so great. Obama was a good orator but that's because evil often comes with a silver tongue.

Idk. I can see needing a few important details written down, maybe even a little key on how to pronounce important words/names. But it seems like people just accept that the president doesn't even say things the president means, they literally are fine with the president just conveying other people's words. What the fuck?

On a side note, I was reading some old opinion piece from the early 1990s that apparently talks about the bible thumping conservative republicans in favor of gun control and slowly were not providing tough solutions to crime as well. These same conservative elite are also referred to hate the populist movement back then as well like what Newt pulled off. Feel like the economy's tipping point was when the dot com boom ended.

People talked about the dot com craze as a time when just learning basic programming could easily get you a job and a good one. Quite a few people were getting recruited out of colleges because of some businesses being so desperate. Can anyone imagine businesses doing that now?

Things never really recovered for white collar workers. Places like Silicon Valley are weird pipe dreams for many now who can't imagine ever getting the sweet life that some of those people get, since the period for easier entry sorta passed them by.

I was there for the peak of it. Stupidly, I dropped out to follow my dreams of majoring in the humanities, while the rest of my class co-hort from a fucking for-profit degree mill walked into tech industry jobs, even the ones that could only code using copious amounts of copying and pasting other's work. Since they got in the door during the late 90s boom, most of them flourished and are still in the industry, though some of them hate it now. My graduate degree I spent years on? Never. Used. Once.

I also pissed away a chance to get into bitcoin on the ground floor when you could get dozens of them for the price of a fast food meal.

I'm an election denier in that I think Heinlein had it right and you don't have a real election unless your vote has to be earned. Universal suffrage is only a guarante for societal parasitism. Therefore there hasn't been a real election ever since the franchise was afforded to every Jane, Jamal, and Janaqueesha.

I am an unironic Terran Federation simp and base all of my political thoughts on it. Do I want to shed blood for my country based on its current political situation? No, but I sure as hell would if it were like the Federation.

Racism was legit almost gone in the 90s. You have no idea how much black comedians and entertainers mocked the proto-woke in those days. We almost had it solved, then grifters and commies remembered that racial division is what gave them relevancy, money, etc.

Problem is that was never really the case. In most mixed race communities there were always racial tensions, and it's likely many of those black entertainers were (and still are) grifters to this day to something that was extremely popular. Outside the USA danger was still heavily prominent for outgroups. You're not wrong in a sense it wasn't as dramatic and visible as it is these days, but you have to ponder if it was so close to being gone how did people fall for such obvious tricks? You can't brainwash someone generally who doesn't want to be and those that are still hold responsibility for what they are propagandized into believing. Exception being children of course.

I believe the racial animosity (some which I experienced myself) was always there, but back then there was always a double edged sword of fear, if you did raise racial tensions the other group might retaliate, now that most see certain groups at large are weak and cowardly and there is no retaliation more like acceptance they've gone full in on their true hands. It's just at the time (during the 90's) most people didn't know better or know the truth. and it was done purposely to push long term what is occurring in the west these days.
