Because it's an authority. It's no wonder that anti-religious, anti-state and anti-authority sentiments in general are born in the teenage years. Attacking authority is a subconscious way to affirm your newfound identity, an indipendent identity which you didn't have as a kid.

However, this is true for the teenage years. One is supposed to grow out of it. And that doesn't mean accepting religion, but finding other ways to keep that out of your life and tolerating its existence in the life of others, instead of ranting like a 16 yo.
