Two 8-month-old pit bulls that were loose in Nanaimo attacked several children, severely injuring at least one. Other people that came to aid the children were also injured.

The children were playing in a yard at the house of one of their friends. The dogs were from somewhere else in the neighborhood and had been cited for being at large previously.

One of the owners of the dogs came and got the dogs but did not stick around. The news interviewed the other owner, a Dangerhair that looked to be in her late 40s or early 50s. While she was devastated at what her dogs had done, she said to the reporter, "People are saying, look at this from the prospective of a parent, well, these dogs are my kids, too," and then she broke down crying.

It was later reported both dogs were euthanized, as there have been other incidents prior to this one, and due to the severity of the injuries the one particular child sustained.

To the dangerhair dog owner I would have to say, "If these dogs were your KIDS, you did a lousy job of raising them. Thank heavens you didn't spawn any of your own."

And do you know what the pit owner said? "She's actually really sweet, she's just stressed because she's on leash right now". Fucking wild.

Perfect opportunity to shoot the pit in the head, look the owner dead in the eye and say "Sorry, I'm just stressed because your pit tried to attack my dog just now."

"I hope this gives you runners SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT when you happen to run past somebody and their dog."
Yea, I'm thinking "thank God I brought my knife with me," and "I wonder how fast I can wrap my sweater/coat around my other arm."

If you're going running/walking/feeding the birds at the park, you should have a reliable folding knife on you at all times. If a dog attacks you might lose an arm, or something else, but you might stand a fighting chance, and live. There are many dog attack stories where a women successfully defends themselves, and their kids with a simple pocket knife. If anyone asks, it's for "opening those gosh darn amazon boxes."

I'll never forget when the lunch lady I liked went missing for a week, and upon return, had bandages on her legs and arms. The "family dog," which just happened to be a pit bull, attacked her when she tried to pick up her grandson at her son's house. They are a retard animal, for turbo-retard owners. Reading about the pit bull that was dragging the wife's corpse around the yard was dark. It could have been so much worse for the lunch lady.

Some cunt brought a pit bull into Home Depot the other day. Dogs aren't even allowed in stores unless they're emotional support animals. It's fucking illegal and everyone does it anyway, cunts!
This depends from location to location.
Home Depot often does allow dogs within their stores as long as it is leashed and not causing any problems. This also applies to Lowes.
Not saying to bring pitbulls into Home Depot by any means, but some locations do in fact allow dogs in.

Speaking as a dog owner - absolutely all dog owners are retarded, no exceptions. Pit owners are retarded cause they have pits, normal dog owners are retarded because once in a blue moon you'll just forget that a grown ass man can actually be afraid of your 20lbs dog, or that someone doesn't know this or that idiosyncrasy that comes with living with that particular animal.

Caught on Cam: Dog Attack Leaves 5 Kids, 2 Adults Hurt

Police in Atlantic City, New Jersey, say a caught-on-camera attack by a pair of dogs injured seven people, including five children, on Tuesday afternoon.

Two kids were walking their dogs in a fenced area along the 1300 of Baltic Avenue, Atlantic City police said, when a third dog approached. Witnesses said the dogs then became aggressive and broke free from the kids.

“Without warning, it appears the dogs then turned on the juveniles and began attacking them,” Atlantic City police said in a news release.

Steve Greenwood, who had just finished working for the day at the Atlantic City Engineer's Office, rushed in to help.

"It was a madhouse," Greenwood said. "They were just coming from everywhere."

Another man, David Gardella, also helped contain the dogs. Video shows him pouring water on the animals.

"I put him in a headlock and body slammed him to the ground so he would release off my wrist and then Steve came up," Gardella said. "It's a godsend that he was there."

Greenwood put one of the dogs in a chokehold.

"I dropped down on top of them, putting all my body weight on him," Greenwood said.

Gardella, another adult and five children ranging in age from 10 to 17, were all treated at the hospital for serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries, police said.

Animal control took the dogs away and placed them in quarantine.

"It's very scary to see that happen," Atlantic City Police Chief James Sarkos said. "To see all those kids that were out there and subject to harm's way. But I was comforted by the fact to know that there's good Samaritans out there that didn't hesitate to jump in there."

There is a video on the site and to me it does look like three pits running around attacking all of these people and kids.

Hope they do a bit more than that after it attacked kids as young as 10. No one was killed, this time.

Every time I see a video like this, even before shit starts to go down; I immediately feel sick. It doesn’t need to happen. One hundred percent pointless, from beginning to end. And the fact they’re in quarantine? Jesus. In the past these dogs would simply have been put down. It’s not like these are happy dogs. They can’t do the thing they were bred to do, they’re miserable. They take up resources from other animals in shelters, it’s an ugly cycle.

The chokehold seems to work well on them, possibly moreso than even say, getting shot which sometimes appears to accomplish nothing more than fucking them off—there‘s a video of a dude letting one out of its pen in a shelter, it attacks a women, guy comes in, shoots it maybe five times, and about fifteen minutes later the dog is up and walking. It’s gruesome as hell—back to the chokehold; you’ve got to be tall, strong, and maybe most important, you’ve got to be in the right position. You’ve got to be careful beyond careful in how you approach them. There’s no way I could do it.

They used to be put down, and their numbers were dropping to the point they probably would have become extinct eventually. Then Mike Vick happened. It's the 101 Dalmatian effect, people felt bad for them, the breed got a huge exposure, and backyard breeders started breeding pitbulls and selling the puppies of this 'nanny dog' to make a profit. Now they clog the shelters even as they tend to be the 'breed' that gets neutered the least.

The warning should have been that they were Pit Bulls.

I use to feel bad for those dogs that Vick killed in his rube goldbergesue ways but now that I know they were mostly shitbulls I feel like I'd pay him to start doing it again.

Shelters used to put down known fighting-bred pits, citing that trained fighting dogs were too dangerous to place for adoption. Now they place them and any pit puppies they find for adoption, (even though the puppies are very often offspring of dogs that were ruthless and game enough to survive fights) and placing them in homes with people who expect them to behave like normal family dogs. It's insane the almost PR-like campaign these dogs get compared to any other dogs, no other breed I know of has people desperate to love away bad genetics, or refuse to believe that their dogs are anything other then what they were bred for, which is too fight and kill and who often are just one or two generations removed from blooded fighting champions.

Sounds like a lot of people with an insatiable need to virtue signal, even if it means putting themselves and others in harm's way. Adopting and raising a shitbull is easier and less hassle than, say, adopting and raising a black kid from the inner city, but you'll still get the same feel-good brownie points and atta-boys from your fellow soy-swillers.

There's also that "I can change him" element. Makes sense seeing how shitbulls are the "bad boys" of the canine world. Funny how you don't ever get those vibes from...say....Kangals.

Yeah, a lot of it is virtue signalling. Try suggesting a breed ban or restriction under any article or Subreddit mentioning a pitbull attacking a child, you might get accused of 'racism' or eugenics.

And boy howdy do pitbulls attract the long suffering! People simping for the dog even after it has killed a pet or bitten their child; people with super neurotic dogs that will chew through a literal wall of the house or destroy a room; people having to 'crate and rotate' to stop two pitbulls from ripping out each other's throats. These folks will rationalize away the dogs' bad behaviors, making excuses after excuses for bad genetics or why it almost tore off a child's face.

I also blame the disingenuous dipshit Cesar Millan and his obsession with using pitbulls as examples of trainable dogs. Millions of normies were exposed to "The Dog Whisperer" and were convinced of how "obedient and peaceful" were pitbulls.

I've been skimming through this thread, and i've been thoroughly convinced. Not finished yet, but need to skip ahead to ask something important:
How can I know what is and is not a pitt bull? Lots of dogs have this sort of squashed headed face and pittbull body. Are they all dangerous? Or are there breeds that look similar but which are fine?

If someone brings anything that looks anything like a pitt bull into a dog park, should I become wary/leave/move away? Or do I need to learn how to spot this one specific breed?

Anything bred with a pit bull will likely have almond shaped eyes, a particular shaped head, and a particular musculature. As far as what to do when you suspect you've seen a pit bull/pit bull mix - don't do anything too sudden. I'd probably keep your dog close by and if you want, you can leave. I don't ever expect pit bull owners to give up public space.
It's hard to describe to someone who isn't familiar with other breed + pit bull. A common example is a lab/pit bull mix. Labs are pretty athletic but if you breed them with a pit bull, the lab can look more muscular and thinner. It's also weird for me to describe how a dog's mixed breed can be seen.
