Damn reading all this really does put everything into perspective. I remember reading a 4chan post years ago by someone who was apparently affiliated with James who wrote about how James was clearly autistic and had weird idiosyncrasies. In a lot of ways I'm proud that James was able to overcome all that and make something of himself on the internet for a while. This book however is not doing him any favors and I actually feel really bad for him since he seems to unknowingly be opening himself up to further ridicule.

With that said I find it really heart warming reading about how much he loves his family. That's definitely not a negative trait. I do however wonder if his autism or whatever had anything to do with pushing his older friends away. Regardless, some interesting information that probably shouldn't have been made public.

As I have said before, him having autism really explains everything. It's been pretty clear that he is on the spectrum, but now hearing this and seeing the posts pretty much confirms it.

The problem with james attempt to ape RLM is the Screen wave people had no charisma. Nether does james. He videos need to ether be scripted or like james and mike mondays very heavily edited.

Well, Cinemassacre did used to have Mike, Bootsy, Kyle, and the others who people actually cared about. If they had a decent manager, maybe they could've stuck with that instead of getting some failed Youtube talent assclowns like Screenwave who are a void of charisma.

I'm not an editor but I just want to "fix" this so badly you have no idea. If I were to send this to an actual book editor I think they would reject it because of all the errors unless they get paid a significant amount. It's just like whenever you see someone with a whitehead or a mole on their face and you have this innate urge to pop that shit. I heavily rewrote just this paragraph so it's not clunky and repetitive:



I'm not going to rewrite the entire fucking thing but this should give you an idea of how badly constructed this whole thing is. The parenthesis I removed is optional and using parenthesis isn't the sign of a hack but it's a good idea to try to avoid that as much as possible. Parenthesis is more of an aesthetic choice and -depending on what you're doing- it may not "look" right. Parenthesis is best used for giving the year of a product like a movie, book or whatever. James' book might be worse than the Onision books on a technical level. And I feel bad for saying that because I feel like I'm kicking a puppy but keep in mind that this man is selling this thing and using his platform to ensure a large number of sales. So it's fair game.

Aside from being clunky and awkward it also is really padded. It's like he wanted to hit an arbitrary word count which is superfluous if you're self publishing. There's a lot of reiterating that's unnecessary and at worst it comes off as being pretentious especially regarding praising himself.

Side note: I found this phrase in the original foreword "and exude pride in him and his craft" to be so incredibly awkward that it reminded me of the Ghostbusters NES ending with the "and prooved the justice of our culture."

Doug and James have too huge of egos to write something nice about another Youtube creator. They both made movies in which their characters were the center of the world and the savior of humanity. James ghostwriting his wife's stuff and praising himself is about the only option there ever was.

Edit: I noticed that in the pages that have been posted so far that James doesn't like to use big words. It's very easy to use big words and it has the reputation of big words = smart. But when appropriate you use big words to avoid repetition and to give the text a flavor.
