Is it true that
the Flash communicates through dreams or some shit
? Because that's what I heard

Yeah that's true. So much crap had to be shoved into this film. It would have been stronger without it.

Well, I'll be looking forward to watching this on a future movie night...

But yeah, I hate to say it but judging from what a lot of the movie critics I listen to have been saying, this movie is just about as joyless as the trailers let on, which really annoys the hell out of me. Warner Bros and DC seem to have this constant hateboner for their own franchises and not even attempting to hire on a creative team that can A) respect the source material; and B) try to cram what is sounding like four different big events in the comics into one movie.

Well, we'll see how the Suicide Squad fares later on this summer, but I'm not expecting much at this point.

Eh, a really mixed bag for me. I thought the performances were good, but the story was a huge mess. Like they inserted so many different plot points into one single movie it made it really confusing at times.

And yeah the Superman thing is way too early. It could work if they make something fun with it like bringing in Bizarro or Steel or Superboy, but they probably won't do that.

I thought it was better than Man of Steel, whose biggest crime was being boring. But overall i'd put the film around a 5-6 or so. And yeah MCU spergs are kinda obnoxious with their films, but this movie has big flaws that are hard to ignore (and this coming from someone who can't stand the MCU).

Fanboys in general are insufferable, but the DC one's who touted this as "Avengers killer" and proof that their movies can be big and mature kind of were the most obnoxious I've seen fan's be in a long time. At least Marvel seems to know what the definition of fun is.

I really wanted this movie to be good, but I ended up pretty disappointed. The first hour was both boring and cluttered. The second was better, but still somehow was a lot less fun than I hoped for. Don't get me wrong, there were some pretty cool things in this movie, especially Batman rescuing
Ma Kent
But seeing as that hostage situation set up is pretty much directly taken from TDKR, I'm not sure who to give credit to.

My biggest issue was that I couldn't take Superman's death seriously, and I was bored by most scenes involving him. I'm not sure if this is just a problem with the story or what, but I spent the entire funeral scene waiting for him to be resurrected in a really retarded way.

I'd watch a Batman movie with this Batman, and I'm interested in Wonder Woman's movie now, but if the upcoming Justice League films are going to be like this, then they shouldn't bother.

I have no qualms about Bats killing people, he does that in comics. Except that he does that as an extreme last resort. BvS' Bats just kills even basic goons he can easily dispatch without guns.

I really feel bad that they sacrificed two iconic story arcs to GoyDer and made a mess out of it. They really should take those two out of the franchise before they use up even more great comic book material.

Story and angsty mood issues aside, everyone else involved did an earnest job, given the shitstorm of a script they had to work with.

Also, if you've watched the trailers, that pretty much is the whole film, only padded to 2.5 hours with extended fight scenes and forgettable filler.

Looking forward to Suicide Squad instead. Here's hoping Snyder doesn't dip his hands into that too much, seeing how he's EP-ing that (but the director and writers are not GoyDer).

Is it just me or did they re-jigger Superman's flying mechanics in this one? I recall that the explanation given in Man of Steel (and possibly to ground the power in pseudo-science) for his ability to "fly" is that the different atmosphere Earth has compared to Krypton allows him to jump higher and farther. In BvS, he actually now has real flight powers, being able to hover and stuff. It's a minor thing in the grand scheme of things, but it kinda feels like they slightly undermined their past work in grounding the character to be more believable in the real world.

They've been pretty inconsistent over the years about "hover" vs "leap tall buildings in a single bound".
iirc the god-tier Fleischer Superman cartoons do leaps, Reeves-es hovered, the comics are all over the place depending on which reboot they're up to.

I'm so used to clicking "spoiler" on kiwifarms.net to see NSFW or large images, that I mindlessly clicked it and spoiled the movie for myself.
Oh well, I'll still see it.

I wonder what will be put into the rated R directors cut of the movie? Some swearing and nudity?

Batman killing people more violently.

I just have one question: What kind of role does the jar of piss play in the movie? I hear most complainers bring it up, but then not bothering to actually get into detail.

It's a component in Lex's plan to make a bomb go off in the U.S. Senate.

Seriously.

That email that Gal Gadot looks at might've just said JUSTICE LEAGUE COMING 2017 right on it. I thought the fight at the end between Batman and Superman was terrible. It was Superman beating Batman with no way to fight back, until Supes got weak, then Batman beating the shit out of him,
but he doesn't kill him cause their mothers have the same name? What would he have done if their mothers names were different? Killed him anyway?

Also
i didn't believe for a second that Superman would actually stay dead. After this whole movie was just an excuse to hype up the Jusice League, there's no way they're gonna kill him. I don't even know why they bothered./SPOILER]

I'm not a huge DC fan so I got kinda lost after a while. A few scenes kept bothering me though.

When Superman died, they had an obituary that said Kent died in the chaos. They buried them both. When Superman comes back in the next movie, won't Kent have to stay dead? I believe he died in the comics too, but not so soon. How would that work in the next movie?
And can someone explain who that little girl was with Bruce when that building came down? I could have sworn she showed up a second time...

Eh, it wasn't that bad. Not particularly good, pretty dumb even, but it had its moments, and unlike Man of Steel it was actually fun, even though some of it comes from Batfleck's unintentional hilarity. Wonder Woman was unexpectedly cool for the little time she was on screen.

I know this is old news, but I've just found out that George Miller won't direct he next Superman movie, which kind of bummed me out. I wonder wou will end up directing it, wouldn't mind Matthew Vaughn myself.

I'd be surprised if they'd make Kent's death a big plot point. They're probably going to pull something like "Wow, Clark was never dead, he just got stuck under some debris and wasn't found, so everyone assumed he died!". Either that or Super will stop using his alter ego altogether, which would be a shame.
I have no idea about the girl though. At first I though she was the daughter of that employee of Wayne that got into a wheelchair, but I can't find anything on the net that confirms this.
