He's not wrong, and while Tim Pool started off alright, he's become more and more of a shill as he began to fear for his shekels. I won't hate on a guy for wanting to make shekels, but he had the right idea to diversify his income so he wasn't as dependent on Youtube, but then he never did anything with it and ended up being a slave to Susan. More so, it doesn't seem like he's working to make deals with Rumble or Odysee, and while I don't think he should go all in as those are risky platforms, him not doing more with them could end up being a huge mistake if either of them take off in a serious way. Sure, that's not super likely, but imagine anchoring yourself too much to MySpace and not doing much with Facebook back in the day, just because Facebook wasn't that big at the time.
Tim was at his best when he was doing short videos on news articles of the day with a small amount of personal input. Great for a quick hit of the news of the day with more context than the headline. But as his ego grew so did the length of his videos and now he just rambles stream of consciousness until he reaches whatever the current timestamp Youtubers aim for now.
Could be an ego thing, and probably is considering it's Tim, but could also be that he was afraid anyone could read the news so he wanted to make it more of a personality thing so that it was harder to replicate. Though what he missed if that was the case, is that there is a personality to any type of content even if you don't necessarily know the personality of the person making it, and worse yet, by injecting himself into it as much as he did, he made it impossible to break away from it and grow other parts of the business.
For a while I was wondering if Tim was ever decent or if he was just a refreshing new channel when I first started watching him. Looking back at some old videos I do think he was halfway decent (if a little dull) back like 5ish years ago. He legit did come off as a decent down to earth guy and his opinions felt more like actual opinions rather than him trying to come off as the smartest guy in the room. Fame and success really does break people.
