Toyota is historically horrible at making performance cars, and they haven't become any better at it. If it weren't for partnering with BMW and Subaru they wouldn't even offer anything that could be considered fun. The LC500 is a big pig of a GT car and not fast, definitely not suited for track work. Car and driver recently had brake and transmission issues with the IS500F for lightning lap 2022. It's a $60,000 V8 sport sedan and look at what beat it around the track... golf R, civic type R, an ugly bmw 2 series...
Toyota has very little in the way of iconic performance cars. The 2000GT is probably the most beautiful japanese car but yielded nothing long term, the Corolla AE86's following is a total accident, the MR2 was very cool but never very successful, the celica and supra were basically the biggest hits and that's it. The celica lived too long and became a joke and the last gen of the Toyota supra (before the bmw nupra) became a phenomena but at the time was a lukewarm success; too expensive , and was killed off to suit. The 2JZ is probably the most overhyped boat anchor of an engine to exist.
The LFA doesn't even count since it was a flash in the pan halo car never to be repeated, much like the 2000GT...
