People you used to watch, before they were fags (or you stopped being one) - A fall from grace

While Markyd123 is also English, he's not as whiny as other wrestling channels when it comes to past angles or characters. And his content is a breath of fresh air since he doesn't cover topics that have been done to death.
He's the "hawk" right? I like him. Compared to the rest anyways. Who the fuck really looks at 90s wrestling and goes "oh yea thays just to problematic"

There was a gaming one that I don't remember his name that I unsubbed after he talked on some current day Lovecraft game where the the devs decided to portray the people of Innsmouth as dindus suffering racism, completely missing the point of the original story by a mile. I don't remember if he praised it or said it wasn't enough but that broke the camel's back for me.

The other was Matpat shoving a knife into the back of FNaF's creator over him supporting the wrongthink party. MatPat owns a McMansion thanks to this guy's work and he repays him by joining the mob with the pitchforks. Even compared to the other terminally deranged YouTubers MatPat came as especially scummy.

JustSomeGuy, and it still breaks my heart that nigger faggot lost all credibility and likability.
Maaaan, nigga seemed like a sensible one, until you realized its not safe to leave your children around him. Dont know if he has doubled down since those florida vids

and teetering on the edge is Rekieta Law. He's not quite there but very very close.
Was never a follower, but stopped watching the guy completely after his youtube got gassed, and even kiwis were acting like we just witnessed the fucking opening of pandora's, the end of america and shit

Went even as far as to gang up on the one single dude who spoke the truth; That the only thing changing here is rackets not getting as much moolah as before

Fortunately for us freedom was restored or something a couple of days later when his channel got reinstated

Styxhexenhammer666 because he just stopped being funny or relevant. That and I got tired of him shilling for Bit Chute and other sites at the start of every fucking video.
Dude used to come across as chill and laidback, but that image cracked to me in two specific moments from videos i dont remember, but i know theyre there somewhere

First was when he claimed he worked "about as much as anyone with a 9-5, hell, i probably work *harder* than that, because i tend to investigate what i can for most of the day"

Bitch, you get paid for commenting on news articles that someone else wrote. I respect the hustle, but dont bs me saying thats tougher than your average norm clapping at the office

Second moment, and the image breaker for me, was some video about alt video sites or whatever, trying to shill for bitchute, rumble and whatever the like

At some point the guy starts sperging out on people who enjoy sports, in a way that came off as angry rather than funny, thats when i realized that nah... Dude is still the same resentful, creep kid he probably was back then, couldnt even fathom why millions of normies wouldnt want to switch over to bumfucktube in order to follow some right wing lunatics

It was pretty similar for me as well. For someone whose living is partially made by predicting election results he's fucking bad at it. A lot of the right-wing-o-sphere on Youtube and else where have come close to creating the same kind of echo chamber that led the leftists to TDS in 2016 but they lack the self awareness to see it.

He gave Trump something like a 95% chance of winning in 2020. Without unpacking all of that shit again, that's an awfully high percent when it's commonly acknowledged that elections have been "fortified" by the Dems multiple times in the past, and it smacks of the same misreading of public sentiment which led to Hillary getting her shit pushed in.

Shilling for BitChute for the first minute or so of every fucking video was the last straw for me. I had already realized that I could get the same navel gazing opinions about politics from just about anywhere else, that I could also not have a product I wasn't interested in pitched to me daily was just that last little push I needed to give up on Styx completely. He might not be as big of a clown as Raz0rfist but they are both very much in the same fucking circus.

Man I feel bad for Scott. FNAF wasn't amazing, but a lot of people liked it and a community formed around it. Scott seemed to enjoy what he was doing.

I used to watch Total Biscuit, but then the channel just died
TB died of cancer lol.

Leadhead: Troonout made most of his video essays unbearable
Gaming Garbage: Outgrew it right around the time Shmorky's voice got too high pitched
Game Grumps: Humor got too bland when Jon was yeeted
Joe Goes: Channel died/Troonout
Thorhighheels: Kept shoving small rants about socioeconomical shit he heard about on Twitter and had 0 understanding of on videos about obscure retro games. Muh transphobia muh crapitalism
MillionDollarExtreme: Barely lives on via Bombstrap, Sam has done almost nothing funny since Adult Swim

I've ranted extensively about Mega64 in the past, but in extremely short summary:
  • They got woke
  • They squeeze every last penny out of their fanbase by way of a maze of Patreon bonuses and "exclusive" merchandise
  • Rocco Botte is a sex pest
But I never hear about them anymore, so whatever

Lately this has been my feelings with a channel called Brad Taste in Music. He used to do edited album reviews and topic videos that I found interesting. Now he’s lost all motivation to make interesting and inspired content since he figured out he could rip off viewers in request streams.

What are request streams? They’re long streams every Tuesday and Saturday where viewers pay to put a song in the queue for Brad to listen to. A few months ago it was fun, he had interesting stuff to say and the price wasn’t too bad.
Now to request a song it’s 9-10 dollars a minute. A. Minute. He looks bored the entire time, barely says anything and you can barley hear his mic above the music. I don’t think he deserves a youtuber thread but I want somewhere unbiased to complain about how lazy his content has gotten. He has openly admitted to his mod team to only being interested in the money and not making interesting content.

Viewer dissatisfaction is getting reflected in his views as well. On average an edited album reviews barely gets 30k views. He has 200,000 views right now.

isnt thorhighheels one of those people who complains about video game violence even tho all movies are violent?

Used to watch a few of the Channel Autism people (Spoony before he became a sadcow, Brad before I lost interest, a little bit of Doug with my younger brother who liked him more than I did)

Used to watch AVGN before it just became pathetic seeing Bimmy go (literally according to his book) full autist

Used to fall asleep listening to Lorerunner before i found out he’s a pedophile, wife beater and habitual liar

Quite a few podcasts I enjoyed before they went balls deep into wokeshit

Noah Cadwell Gervais made decent vidya retrospectives before going woke also
Noah and Jacob Gellar and Joseph Anderson were never good lol. never got the appeal of whining for an hour micromanaging "fun" in a game

When I started getting into anime in the mid-2010s, I started listening to anituber podcasts. I was gradually alienated from them over time. Mother's Basement and Super Eyepatch Wolf started insulting their audience. Canipa Effect used to do indepth videos on animation techniques, but then stopped doing that and shifted to just giving empty praise. Digibro was interesting at first due to his tremendous knowledge of anime history, but then he started doing cheap patreon Q&A videos, and then trooned out. Pedantic Romantic... I'm not quite sure what that guy's problem was. I think he became nonbinary or trans? I hope he turns his life around before it's too late. Glass Reflection and Bob Samurai have remained sane, but their content output has become very sparse.

Also listened to the Lorerunner's videos as podcasts. He was good for digging up information about the development of a game or a movie and the circumstances of its release, digging up interviews on design and writing decisions, etc. He was also good at breaking down game design techniques while playing a game. His ruminations on old Square Enix JRPGs and Star Trek episodes were really good. Only other Youtube channel out there with a similar level of depth is Dark Pixel Gaming/Resonant Arc podcast for JRPGs, but nothing for Star Trek. But then he shifted from doing the compact, 30 minute to 1 hour long ruminations that contained that juicy info, to doing long livestreams of games, so I stopped listening. I found out about the pedo accusations against him a couple weeks ago and people saying he got off because of a technicality or something, but I haven't seen any proof that he did it.

Birdman used to be fucking hysterical like 5-6 years ago and he's pretty tame now. He's extremely scared of being demonetized. His new vids aren't bad exactly but you can tell he self censors a fuck ton to avoid losing e shekels.

Nerdcubed/Nerd3 back in the early 10s. Made decent edited videos of him playing random games while goofing around and giving a general opinion on it at the end if you should check it out, along with proper full playthroughs and permadeath challenges in some games, etc. Eventually the ego on him must have gotten the better of him as he started shoving in random political bullshit before it was popular to do so, along with constant fedora tipping in the most pompous, faggy way. He also couldn't take criticism worth a shit, and would explode on fans at any sort of critique, even constructive ones, he would constantly get into slapfights on his own subreddit and Twitter over dumb shit. I quit watching around the time South Park: The Stick of Truth came out and he got some day 1 game breaking bug that messed his save up one hour in. He quickly made a video ranting about how awful this was and uploaded it, which by then was patched iirc and his fanbase told him to chill out since the game just came out, to which he got super assmad and called them all idiots on Twitter. This, along with previous retardation made me drop him, I checked up on him and he surprisingly brings in over 25k USD on his Patreon a month, but he apparently has employees he pays for some game he's working on so I wonder how long it'll be before he's broke, unless he invested smartly when times were good.

Alright I will have my go at this:
  • RebelTaxi (Pan-Chan) - The definition of a YT personality that should have left to do better things years ago. Pan was extremely funny throughout 2010-2015, but that podcast, while fun at first, absolutely ruined him in the long term. The Frederator partnership didn’t help either. The obvious things to point out are Pan’s short-comings like him crying in a Toy Story let’s play that he couldn’t bang the Ruby Gloom t-shirt girl in college, or his Adult Swim interview. In saying this, what really got me to give up on him was the change in style. Pan’s reviews were more like riffs where he mainly just looked at something to make crude jokes. In recent years, he is trying to clean up his style, but it lacks the old punch his stuff held. I miss the sarcastic asshole Pan that has seemingly been replaced by informative or bitter/depressed Pan.
  • SML (Super Mario Logan) - He was my second childhood channel to Pan. Much like Pan, his style shifted and I lost interest. His golden years were between 2010-2013 when he mainly did vids with Black Yoshi and Shrek. Bowser Jr. and Jeffy were never as funny. Every now and again, Logan pulls out a good joke in his vids, but much of his content seems more geared to sucking in kids now. The controversies surrounding him like the attempted suicide inspired by his videos and Nintendo legal troubles only make him worse.
  • GameXplain - golden years were the Wii U era where there was little competition for a Nintendo community leader. After the Switch’s first year, they became extremely boring and repetitive with the left wing politics starting to be randomly injected. Now knowing Andre is a piece of shit, GX is hard to watch
  • TheBitBlock - Josh was fun up until the end of the Wii U. Nowadays he is just some bitter Trumptard that hates Nintendo because his channel never blew up as hard as GX. He is just a nit-picker that will never move past Nintendo because he carved a niche of GC nostalgia-tards.
  • PieGuyRulez - He was always the boring one of the animation trio. Mr Enter and Pan, for all their faults, were at least memorable. PieGuy is just too clean to get much out of past that good era of cartoon reviewers between 2010-2015.
  • Mr Enter - We all know.

SModcast - Just a podcast with Kevin Smith and Scott Mosier just shooting the shit. It was actually a great podcast with them going over anything from interesting facts to old audio recordings of Smith from the 90s. The downfall of the show was way before Kevin Smith's heart attack however. I would say it was around the episode where the conceptualized the film Tusk, Yoga Hosiers, and Moose Jaws. At that point they were adding on new shows and creating the SModcast Network and Comic Book Men was in full swing as well. It was clear that Smith and Co. wanted to fully exploit the series for as much as they could, as fast as they could. It went to shit fast afterwards.

Talking Simpsons - I came across this one as it is a spin off of another podcast I listen to called Retronauts. Retronauts is mostly about old vidya game content. The hosts are clearly hardcore leftoids but they keep it to a minimum on Retronauts so it doesn't bother me. Talking Simpsons is a bit too much however. These guys will go on for minutes at a time about current politics even when they have nothing to do with the episode they are discussing. Again I'm fine with listening to lefty content, it doesn't bother me. Though I came to listen to a discussion on a Simpsons episode, not some weird rant on universal healthcare. Luckily I found Four Finger Discount which is a much better Simpsons podcast.

John Oliver was always a painfully unfunny faggot.
John Oliver's one advantage over all the other painfully unfunny faggots is that it's a weekly show and he can pack it full of mostly painfully unfunny gags. I can see how a college fag with an appreciation of form could be a fan of his. I can't say the same for the likes Jon Stewart or Stephen Colbert who struggle to shit out a (painfully unfunny) joke per episode like it was a life-sized silicone buttplug baby.

Any Youtuber who slows down on making content so much that you forgot you subscribed to them THAT pops up a video in January talking about their mental health, this years going to be better so they hopefully can keep milking their Patreons. If it was one Youtuber you'd just shrug, but when it's a few all at the same time (Start of January) and you predict that the following January you'll see a different set of them trying that grift too.
