Community Quiverfull Movement Lolcows - Starring the Duggars

No, that's purposeful on the part of JillPM and Shrek. It's been exposed by a former babysitter and school mates of (I want to say Tim, one of the poor slackjawed, recessed chin boys that will never be a functional human) when he almost escaped their clutches at a fundie college that they withhold food as a means of control. Jill could have enough food in her fridge and pantry to stock an entire all you can eat buffet by the airport and she still wouldn't feed her kids. The kid gained something like 20lbs in one semester and finally looked like an average 19 year old young man despite being sent off with literally no money, just from what he was fed by other kids that pitied him. They posted a picture from taco bell and each kid got a single taco (some of the teens had 2) and Shrek had a pile of 9+ food items in front of him. It's one of the mechanisms of control in their death cult and it's sad as fuck to watch. Jill and Karissa Collins are truly fucking evil, Bethany Baird is just a disgusting, neglectful slob... luckily her husband is not only the breadwinner but also the major childcare person.

E: Although I do agree, much more assistance needed, especially for kids that didn't ask to be born to a sociopathic narcisscist.

It also sucks for women who are childless not by choice whether they couldn't find a suitable husband or they are infertile among other reasons. A lot of them think that it is somehow their fault they are childless or people are like "Why don't you adopt?" without realizing how rigorous the approval process is as well as how expensive it is. Childless women in those communities are often forced to take care of their aging parents and younger siblings and often not treated like adults compared to married women. As for men, well, it reminds me of a quote Brigham Young said once in that unmarried men over the age of 25 are a menace to society and they are also infantilized and treated like lesser men for not having a wife.

If they are childless because they are disabled, it is also very unlikely they will get the proper education and assistive devices needed to live to their full potential. They may even be less likely to marry compared to their secular disabled peers as a result depending on the nature of the disability.
This is one of the reasons that I think evangelicalism is just Christian culture imagining itself to be 'Biblical' and not something that one can recognize from the Bible. Protestants give Catholics shit on how they do non-Christian stuff and what they do is 'non-Biblical,' but acting like infertile people are almost subhuman just because they can't pump out half a football team on short notice is something the Evil One will keep hoping they do. Because that is one way they help to destroy faith, by acting like their fertility makes them better Christians.

A lot of these small, isolated evangelical churches are also literal cults headed by sex pests and other abusers. Poverty+isolation+lack of education+a couple charismatic sociopaths setting up shop at the local church is a combination that can harm generations.
If a church has too much power centralized in a single person, it's probably going to be highly dysfunctional. Even if that single person is good, one person can't watch everything. If you don't feel comfortable with leadership from ALL church leaders and there isn't some room for difference of opinion, I'd argue it's a bad church. The Duggar's church they were at when Josh molested his sisters is a good example of that.

I often think that there are religious leaders who started out as basically good, but decades of money and adoration from parishioners inflated their opinions of themselves to the point that they could sin without second-guessing their behavior.

Absolutely. There are men and women who having a flock to tend to is something they think makes them somehow more important. It's just really terrible and foolish pride.

The Mormons definitely have some big problems theologically and within the social structure of the church, but they're really a sweet people. At least there's something good there.
Yes, actual Mormons are by and large wonderful people, I just despise the organization. Quiverfull shit actually encourages awful behavior, though.

I can understand why. So much of it is pretty weird money-laundering stuff by making young people pay crazy amounts and then forcing them to live in terrible conditions and making them think it's some sort of due diligence they must pay if they ever want a nice

Quiverfull beliefs are sort of tangentially related to Gothard, but I actually don't stray too far from some of it. I believe all children are blessings and opportunities to grow, and if my spouse was comfortable, I would be very open to as many children as she wanted.

Quiverfull really doesn't give a shit what the woman wants. She's just a walking womb. And they don't care much about the children afterwards, as the whole Duggar situation showed, whether the paterfamilias rapes the shit out of them or whatever.

See also, the Rods and how they can't even be assed to feed their kids (while Jill and Shrek eat at restaurants pretty frequently). Or that interracial quiverfull couple whose baby ended up in the hospital from a UTI gone horribly wrong because they were making the baby sit in dirty diapers.

It's more of a religious principle you see in various Christian faiths rather than a denomination itself. Yes, there are women begging not to have more kids, being unfairly pressured against her well-being, etc., but most people who practice it are pretty varied. Some people who take the theological position are natalists like myself, and some lean more to providentialism, which I understand why many mainstream Americans especially find the latter superstitious.

Karissa and Mandre Collins, I follow the Reddit thread on those two.
What a mess, I feel so awful for those children.
Supposedly, the entire family is at some fancy house in Utah with another fundie racist couple, the husband of the other couple is a rapper of some fame, who raps about race and women.

Wait, the interracial couple is staying with a racist fundie couple? Or are the interracial couples somehow racist?

Not that race is particularly relevant to any of this, since most quiverfull types are white and the way they treat their kids is unacceptable regardless.

Being a bogan transcends mere race. It is an essence of being.
