Every trailer a watch for this remake make me enjoy DS3 more and more. What the hell.

What the fuck are they doing with the characters; I get remaking, but any character who's had more than one game kinda has a known look; and even the characters who are one-hit wonders, there's nothing wrong with them. I get remaking, so clean things up, something here or there, but don't fucking do an entire face and hair swap. Though I'm also of the mind that Isaac didn't need a face, we got one short look at it at the end of DS1 (a fine reward, I guess); but he's turning his mask off and on too many times for DS2, we didn't need that. If anything, have another face reveal at the end, but show him more ragged and his hair with white strands, show some physical wear and tear for all the insanity his mind is putting him through.
And I swear to God I know a YouTube guy that the new Isaac looks like.
Which hardcore mode; the "only 3 saves" like in DS2 or the "You can save, but if you die we delete that save and you start at the beginning" in DS3? Because while I appreciate the challenge, DS2's hardcore was several magnitudes more difficult than DS3. It also doesn't help that you could use USB or Cloud Save to backup your game, so any perceived death in DS3 was quickly mitigated by transferring your off-device save data.
there more I see the more I just ask myself.. why? DS1 isn't that old, literally all EA had to do was put a bunch of nerds in a room, update the textures/models/engine and call it a day. no one asked for this, no one wants this. all this time, money and effort for what? it completely misses the point why people like DS1 in the first place.
We wanted to make the scene more interactive, by making a 1 minutes scene that lets you control the character while its happening to a cutscene that last longer and has no gameplay.
I'm looking forward to the remake, I can't say I really understand many of the complaints I see about it, they seem very autistic and nit picky to me often times, but yeah changing this what is really just a simple scene into this really complicated mocapped in your face thing is a weird decision to me. I think it's less tense, less scary, because the player isn't in control. Mentally the player knows that they aren't in danger in a cutscene like this. In the original game you are in control the entire time, meaning the player is never sure if they will need to react to this creature or not at any moment.there more I see the more I just ask myself.. why? this reeks of thi4f, fucking leafs.
I didn't mind the video until they mentioned making it "a lot more interactive", and my brain immediately realized that they've made it way less interactive by turning a scene that previously happened while the player controlled Issac into a cutscene.there more I see the more I just ask myself.. why? maybe you need to have played ds1. not meant as a diss, just a simple "you need to see what I mean".I'm looking forward to the remake, I can't say I really understand many of the complaints I see about it, they seem very autistic and nit picky to me often times, but yeah changing this what is really just a simple scene into this really complicated mocapped in your face thing is a weird decision to me. eh, as much as I am a fan of "support when publishers do the "right" thing" (I bought anthem after all - after it was fixed), can't really support it in this case just because it's horror and singleplayer. if they'd made something new, or maybe DS4, then yes, but this is just re-heating a great meal from last week. I still expect them to put proper effort in if they want my money. even if it's a success, what's the message? just mangle your back catalogue because people won't buy new singleplayer horror games? Why am I going to play it then? Probably because the horror genre has suffered a lot the last decade, and desperately needs the resurgence of this and the resident evil franchise.
I'm still curious to see what else they've got for the remake, not all of it is bad, I like the way they've opened the ship and made the necromorphs spawn around the ship dyanmically.
This is also the first step in a course correction as EA had previously said they would no longer do Singleplayer only games, and funding a singleplayer only horror game, even if it's a remake, deserves some interest.
Some people prefer it, but I've never been a big fan of the walking sim horror games that most indie horror end up being. Robbing you of the ability to fight any threats is a cheap way to do horror in video games honestly, and most indie horror are just cheap mass produced copies of amnesia and that p, t, demoas for horror, there's always a handful of games during next fest. of course as indies they won't necessarily have the budget like a dead space, but that doesn't mean they're bad. I rather spend the $60 bucks EA is asking for the remaster on some indies that put their heart into it than another corporate product that misses the point.
which is another thing, a simple remaster would cost half of that, and people are much more likely to pick up a DS1 remaster for 30 bucks, similar to how sega does their ports. this would be a much better gauge for EA to see if there's interest instead of dumping millions in whatever this is (higher budget = higher expectations, and it's not like this was the exact same reason the franchise got killed in the first place).
EDIT: just checked out of curiosity, last next fest had 74 games with the horror tag. of course doesn't mean much, but maybe worth a look:

They wanted to have that moment where you got a Necromorph transforming right in front of you from Dead Space 2.
DS3 missed the point of the franchise, but at least it didn’t blatantly ruin the characters.Every trailer a watch for this remake make me enjoy DS3 more and more. What the hell.
It should have been a co-op survival mode as it would have fit the tone of the trailers and series much better. "The terror has returned. But this time you are not alone."You guys ever miss Dead Space 2 multiplayer? I miss it like I miss Bioshock 2 multiplayer. It was different from stuff out at the time, and even with issues, it still managed to make me think back on it more than a few times.
I was talking lately about that actually with someone. I think Dead Space's mechanics would make a great survival mode. For some reason, they were like convinced that it would suck and that I was retarded for saying Dead Space has more and deeper mechanics than COD zombies. Which is fucking does. Callisto Protocol is supposed to be getting one, but Dead Space still feels more polished than that game combat wise.It should have been a co-op survival mode. The unbalanced PVP and cheaters killed it very quickly. Not as primal rage inducing as Destiny 2 cheaters that actually slow your game to a crawl when they are on your screen, but when they are not in the lobby even with other high level players, that lag is gone. Funny how news about lawsuits against cheat making companies suddenly makes these faggots less common for about a week or so.
Mass effect 3's multiplayer is still the gold standard. Can find a match just as fast as I did a decade ago. Only retards said it was a waste of time while they fucked off to the next pvp game of the week to bitch and moan about perpetually like DSP. At least people publicly lynch any cheaters that are left today apparently going by the steam forums.
I've spent countless hours on ME3 Multiplayer on the 360. I wish Bioware had kept the week-end events rolling after they stopped supporting the game. It's a shame that they didn't bring that mode to the ME remastered collection.Mass effect 3's multiplayer is still the gold standard. Can find a match just as fast as I did a decade ago. Im still confused. Is callisto still in the PUBG universe or not? It still feels like it since they are too concerned about "MUH GRAFFIX D00D" to care about things like basic player customization that even DS2MP had. Let alone anything decent like the mobile game's survival mode that could earn you stuff like credits that carried over to the main campaign.I was talking lately about that actually with someone. I sucked it up and started over on the PC. It was worth it and iirc you can use a controller if you want. Its a shame that bioware didnt catch onto the trend of the "one time only userdata transfer" that even companies like Bungie, Activition, and eventually 343i did around 2020 with 360 fileshares for the MCC. So there's no technical limitation excuse. Just Discordfag tier developer bullshit.I've spent countless hours on ME3 Multiplayer on the 360. I need to play ME3 multiplayer on PC but I'm not used to the keyboard/mouse controls.
It isn't related to PUBG at all, they kinda got out of that weird thing I think the Publisher Krafton pushed on them. Also, I should have specified it's a single player horde mode planned. Not MP. The game is fun, I beat it on Series X and had a good time, but I'd wait for a sale. Especially on PC, where I think it still has issues. On console it's fine, 60FPS is pretty smooth, patches fixed bumps with that. The main issues I had with the game are that the GRP module needs work to be more satisfying when throwing enemies and shit at enemies, the universe is really not interesting compared to Dead Space (There isn't any like Marker tier thing thats super interesting you want to know more about).Im still confused. Also don't think anyone ever appreciated the tentacle grab cutscenes after the nth time. I know I sure as hell didn't. They were an annoying speedbump by then.
