I know this was pages back, but offline archives/backups are generally exempt from GPDR. That's what makes these temporary suspensions so damned perfect. This is a nothingburger, and yet they've shat out countless articles in the span of just a couple of days, to the point that a Wikipedia article can be whipped together calling it the "Thursday Night Massacre" with over 30 citations (lol).

With their suspensions being lifted within days (or less) of being disciplined, the louder they piss and moan about this, the more ridiculous they'll look in the coming days, weeks and years. They received a wrist-slap over breaking rules they were warned about well in advance and suffered no harm whatsoever for it. People will see this screaming and crying for what it is: children throwing a temper tantrum. What little respect journalism may have had left is being eviscerated by their antics.

Last year we had the bitter horror and laughter of the Motherfucker saga, this year we were brought to near sadness with the Keffals + journos + Liz Fong Jones twitter cabal trying to murder the site. Unlike the latest jail saga, we've been having a really fantastic past few weeks to make up for it. It's nice. Last year's big sava didn't offer as much closure for those responsible (but consequences for Chris were had and we had Gunt's Portugal adventures to cheer us up) so this year let's celebrate the little wins.
