I dread the deluge of soycuck "lore" videos trying to connect the very "universes" of Souls and Armored Core together.

Even more so if someone tries to explain it as "multiverse theory".

While I played them all, I can't say I remember much of them outside of OG Demon's Souls. But, is there a Karasawa in any of the Souls games?
 
I tried to get into 5 but the autistic "respawn" mechanic where you're little more than a perpetually parachuting pilot made the game unplayable. Who the fuck came up with that shitty idea anyway? I hope they were executed like a dark souls character on the spot. I'd rather just be dead for the rest of the match and spectating.

Daemon x machina was WAY better than V though you lose the grounded art style for the cell shaded generic anime style of that game.
 
Is there anything similar to AC that can be played on XBox Series X? So far I've tried Hawken and Mechwarrior 5 and I am not satisfied...
 
Cool that FromSoft is branching out, ironically by returning to an earlier series, because I was starting to think Soulslikes were all they would ever produce again. But the King's Field autist in me thinks they resurrected the wrong series!

I was a big armored core fan. But... actually not looking forward to this too much. With how modern From's focus on more boss battles and everything is, fighting big robots was mostly an eh to me: I always enjoyed fighting other ACs more.

I for one would like Souls loreniggers to be kept far away from Armored Core as much as possible if their only frame of reference are souls games. See Vaati, fucker's so bland and the only thing he got is the narration voice used to regurgitate reddit lore discussions.
EDIT: On that note, if you want to watch content creators who actually know and played Armored Core, I recommend Ouroboros, JeeNine and maybe Armored Core Lore on YouTube.

FTFY. Vaati got his start basically regurgitating all the lore sperging /v/ extensively did over Dark Souls back when that was a newer game.

It probably came from King's Field, but the Moonlight Sword was the main character's ultimate game-busting weapon in the Otogi series for the original XBox, also made by From Software.

Moonlight has been the strongest sword weapon since the OG Armored Core on Playstation; same thing for the Karasawa. which has been the strongest hand-held beam gun in the game. There's a lot of naming conventions which most people can take a nod, as both series are made by the same people; but lore spergs will have the board with thumbtacks and redstring while they schitzo-post how Patches is really a dimension traveler or whatever.

I wouldn't put it on one person; it's just the sad nature of the beast of a game series getting popular and having everyone jump on it. Does he contribute to the problem, yes; but even without him, there's plenty of others who fill the role. And I'll admit I enjoyed theory/schitzo-posting back in the GameFaqs days, because gaming was still niche; but with how it is now, even if you manage to smother one idiot content creator, three more will pop up and take their place. In the most extreme cases; even if/when the actual devs come out and say "Actually, X is X and Y is Y," you'll have spergs claim their headcannon or whatever is more valid than what the actual fucking developer says. It's not a singular person problem; it's a retard mob problem.

That's my point, he took 4chan lore sperging and turned it into reddit tier lore regurgitation.

On that note, the best way we can counter this Soulsniggering is to actually show people how previous Armored Core games are played. A lot of people have little to no experience with the series in general and the recent IGN interview with Miyazaki and Yamamura doesn't help describing the game so people keep thinking it's close to a Sols game. If you see anyone showing interest in the series, show them the fundamentals of previous games first to set their expectation accordingly.
