Anime/Manga - Discuss Japanese cartoons and comics here; NO CULTURE WAR DOOMPOSTING!

Final episode of Akiba Maid War is interesting
I personally think that the ending kinda rushed
especially the after credit scene
I’ll give it 9/10 for interesting concept
I actually felt the opposite, the last episode had really solid pacing and absolutely amazing payoff, with great balancing of humour and emotion that sticks to the Yakuza tropes. The only thing missing is five more minutes of epilogue to show what happened to every one that survived.

I agree with you, I should’ve word it better.
I think on the episode 10 (Ranko’s date), Nagomi mentioned about Maid Graduation.
I assume the rest of them “graduated”?

And I’m planning to start watching Bocchi again. Hopefully I didn’t get annoyed again.

Graduation in Japanese is usually a euphemism to something very bad happening. Maids probably work until they get pregnant, too wounded or old to appeal to customers, or get enough money to be formally released.

I haven't seen it in this thread yet so I wanted to share a mange I like to read: it's called Shinju no Nectar and it's about a guy that got isekai'ed (yeah that genre again) But the twist is it's not a student but a grown up and he doesn't get any superpowers. Well except one

When he sucks on the titties of some special girls he transforms into an elemtnal monster (so far we have lighting, fire, water, air and earth)

The world in itself is interesting. It's a world where the industrialization is taking place (we have oil production, war trains, steam powered ships) but magic still exists though is slowly fading out. Also humans don't exist except for those summoned (there is for example another human who was summoned from WW2 USA) Give it a look I enjoy it even though updates are kinda slow. And the last thing: the MC uses a lot of his earth knowledge like making explosives and even sales pitches to great effect. Basically muscles and brain in one.

So it's fucking Qwaser of Stigmata if it was an isekai.

I do often wonder if there's any anime that people like but are afraid to talk about it for one reason or another like it's content or the fact that it's considered quite trashy.

I imagine there's quite a few that have some but thanks to the current state of opinions on the internet they would just prefer not to talk about them.
I'm a moefag, and it's not like I'm afraid to say it, I'm just smart enough people have different tastes, so I don't annoy them with it. same with anime and normies in general.

they gave her big bocchies afterwards tho
then took them away again in the next image.

Holy shit it is him. Dude really likes this fetish of his. Like godspeed, Yoshino, but holy shit, play things up a bit.

sucking on some nice tiddies isn't a fetish, that's just being a dude.

Bought the Soul Eater: The Perfect Edition manga on Monday. The chapters are alright, though the jokes and gags are hit or miss for me. I think I’m liking this better than what I’ve seen of the anime.

There’s a colorized chapter of Maka and Soul fighting Rasputin and it looks very badass.

A bit of a rant and maybe some power level:
Argentinian manga prints are so fucking bad, holy shit.
Why do they have to make every character sound like a retard, argentinian dialect is so fucking bad, I hate it
Paper quality and print can be high quality, but if I see any character say "Che" or "Pelotudo" one more time Ill kill myself

Speaking of chainsawman I have to ask to anyone who's read the manga, has the anime been as bad of an adaptation as some people claim?
I purposely avoided reading the manga to go in blind, but if you've been following it on /a/ (not sure about reddit or twitter) its been 11 weeks of nonstop back and forth whether its a good anime to an overshilled flop that killed interest in the actual manga as well as MAPPA becoming the most polarized anime studio on the board,
It's not really BAD, they got enough manpower that things actually move with enough frames and characters stay on model. Some action scenes look great thanks to that, it goes a long way.
However it's really uninspired and a lot of highlights had much lesser impact. Some great shots were neutered too, whether it was to cut corners or for some other... nefarious reasons, that's up to you. Because yeah, the director is trying to put a "mature"/"cinematography" spin on this. He asked voice actors to not sound like they're dubbing an anime, and is trying his best to ape movies in his directing. It results in some basic shots looking very try hard (for instance: main character eats like a pig, other character sees the mess he left behind, funny - the anime puts emphasis on food porn and trying to make it look good and impressive and add fancy reflections on everything, not so funny actually kinda cringe), not fitting, various issues. It's Oscar bait.

Also the pacing is a lot slower than the manga, so the story feels a bit different.

Basically it's not bad and there's something to be enjoyed but it doesn't fit Chainsaw Man's chaotic identity. It's not a monkey paw, but it's not great either. You should only watch it after the manga if you like it (it's pretty good).

I find it funny that it runs alongside Mob and Bocchi, shows that actually embraced their "anime-ness" and got praised to high heavens for it. They're almost like two opposite work philosophies, and I think the latter is far better for the medium.

If you want a REALLY bad adaptation from the season, there's Hoshi no Samidare. Feels bad, man.

I went in with zero expectations with Akiba Maid War, besides thinking the premise was maybe some sort of darkly parodic take on P.A. Works' own "working girls" series like Shirobako and Sakura Quest, but besides that I didn't even really know what the premise was but this was easily one of my favorite seasonals series this year. It went to unexpected places, and it was completely unpredictable if a scene would end on a silly or serious note.
