I've never driven in a lot of snow or lots of ice (A few times for the latter). Mostly rain for me but even I know snow tires/chains are thing despite not owning any.

Do we know if he has an open or a limited slip differential. I highly doubt he locked up by downshifting at high gear (Does he even have a standard transmission LOL).

He either understeered or oversteered (more likely since RWD) so he has a few choices. If anyone drives in snow or ice let me know if these are not possible or other options.

Under steer:
- Punch the throttle
- Ease of the throttle and reduce the turn angle of the front tires

Oversteer:
-Ease off on the throttle and countersteer (not a choice since he was only going 35?
-Drift it out on steady throttle

The proper course of action was to not be retarded and use weight/snow tires/chains.

Oh, I agree. I once drove a Crown Vic through Wisconsin in winter. At the time, I was living in California, and had little experience driving in inclement weather. I made it in one piece, but I was also very careful.

What you have to understand though is this: He bought a 760HP muscle car. Said car is begging to be driven aggressively. He's been thinking with his dick for months. He lives in Minnesota. AND road conditions there right now are shit.
