If you don't want to read through 291 pages of this thread, fine. Here's an explanation as to why this thread reached as such. There's also a reason why this thread was in Multimedia rather than any of the Person of Interest/Lolcow boards as it's debatable that he's a lolcow or not, because of the huge controversy that was last year when his Monster Madness videos being accused of plagiarism, decreasing quality of AVGN videos, Screenwave slobs unnecessarily being involved in the videos, Rex Viper cringe music, etc.
I assumed he's not a lolcow because whoever made the call to move this thread back to multimedia didn't want a-logs on reddit to shit up this thread. Personally I think both James & Mike are just doofuses who were aping South Park humor . They're funny to laugh at but they're really not strange or malicious enough to be real lolcows. If they were obnoxious whiners on Twitter that would be a different story.

For fun, on Christmas Morning I watched a few of the older AVGN Christmas episodes before the new one, it's fucking night and day the quality difference. He's concise, the jokes flow more naturally, there's creative ideas like the "How the Nerd Stole Christmas" (which I didn't like when it came out, but is fucking gold now), it's just so much better than a bloated mess like this episode. Screenwave should've just split this into an episode specifically for Garfield shit and did another Crazy Castle.

Garfield was a very forgettable episode. Better than most of the forgettable episodes, but still forgettable. Kinda fun to see how many different licenses they slapped onto the same few games for different regions, though there wasn't a lot to really do with that factoid. Also cool to see Mike again. I dunno, there's just not much to say about this episode. It's very 5/10. Not the worst Christmas episode by far, not the best by far.

My headcanon is that there was an uncomfortable atmosphere behind the scenes during the making of the AVGN movie because James would constantly refer to the black actor as his "Little Winston", believing he was "making up" for the lack of Winston in various Ghostbusters games by having a black character in his film.
In my headcanon, Rolfe kept calling him "my negro" in an ill-advised attempt to bond with the African American gentleman.

I found this and needed to share it.

Damn this year sucked on the Cinemassacre channel...
EDIT: And why the fuckballs does he laugh after every clip? It's not like he is actually watching his clips through the camera lens?
It was a very uneventful year. We had 2 pretty good AVGN's. One "decent" one I.E. the Last Ninja. The rest were trash. The rest of the vlogs were trash. The Rocky 4 video was a big nothing but led to more memes at James' expense. And then the book just destroyed any delusions you had of this man.

100% Agree, and the fact he included his stupid "Is Shining a Christmas movie?" in it should tell you something or two about how the year went in terms of content.

I just realized we've only had 6 AVGN's for the entire year. It would be something to say that it was a quality VS quantity situation but it really wasn't. It was the same thing as the last 2 years where if you're lucky you get 1-2 decent episodes.
It's pretty bad compared to other years he'd barely put out much AVGN, but better than 2021 just because there's no embarassingly bad episodes or stupid shit like the bloated mess that was muh Episode 200. I mean even though the average episode is far longer than it has to be now, Episode 200 was just an utter mess.

My money's on James putting out another 6 episodes this year, and then putting out a few more in 2024 where he'll announce his retirement because he's been doing it for 20 years. On the off-chance I'm wrong, it'll be 2026 since that's 20 years since he got the ScrewAttack contract and his show really took off.

I would say 2021 was the worst year for him even though he most likely made the most money because of there being so many fucking sponsored videos. He had 2 or more sponsored videos per week during 2021. But 2022 was not much better. 2022 was the time to take the hint from fans and shape up. At first he seemed like he was going to do that and then it all just crashed and burned.

How embarrassing. I guess by James' (autistic) logic ANY movie with snow is an Xmas movie.
You leave Ross Scott out of this!
It really is interesting how many parallels there is between James and Ross. If I wasn't at work, I'd make a list.
