Sony hate thread

I will never, ever understand the kind of people who would prefer to watch someone else play a game than play it themselves. I understand following a streamer you like for the whole parasocial relationship thing, but not foregoing playing a game to watch someone else do it. Half the reason games are so satisfying is because you have to push through difficult and shitty parts yourself for your payoff.
It's somewhat understandable for games with very insignificant gameplay like visual novels because the experience really won't be that much different compared to your own playthrough but if you're watching someone go through the Soulsborne games or games with more involved gameplay like Devil May Cry? That's something I can only see peak consoomer and influencer fanboys doing.

What about Sony moviegames?

Watching someone play them is the worst of both worlds because the gameplay isn't as insignificant but it's a Sony game so the story won't be worth the watch anyway.
Soyboys with daddy issues love watching Sony games cause it lets them freely cry their eyes out and tweet about it.

>not putting Gravity Rush in the meme alongside Bloodborne
The person who made this meme is an uncultured faggot.
Gravity Rush is from the Japan Studio which they shut down. I'm pretty sure Sony has abandoned that IP alongside PaRappa the Rapper, Ape Escape, Patapom and pretty much 90% of any notable franchises from the company. I doubt they will ever see a re-release either.

A Famitsu article listed the highlighted Playstation games for this year, just as an info reference:

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
I like how Ys 10 Nordics and Project Zero Mask of Lunar Eclipse are instead present on the article of Nintendo's highlighted 2023 titles despite being multiplat with Playstation.

As implied previously, Final Fantasy 16 is going to be the first major reality check for the PS5.
-first exclusive ever in years (and in the third year of the console's lifespan).
-coming out when PS5 stock is seemingly available now.
-an IP which still usually has power behind it.

Apparently, using your PS5 in a vertical position can damage the console after 2 years of use. This was a design flaw made by Sony. This gives "PS5 leaks" a whole new meaning...
The Sony rep I talked to told us to warn our customers to keep their PS2s horizontal, because the vertical position can put strains on the laser assembly, and in that position its more likely to get jostled
LITERALLY THE SAME PROBLEM THEY HAD 20 YEARS AND 3 GENERATIONS AGO. TOP FUCKING KEK.

Their products aren't built to last. They used to be the innovator of technology with walkman and cameras now everything is made of the same quality as a Chinese offbrand bootleg.

And they are getting cheaper with their materials and durability by the year while hiking the price, just look at how their controllers have devolved each generation.

It's even worse, because that just meant the DVD drive got damaged, so you could still use it with HDLoader. PS5, though:
The problem, he says, is that the liquid metal used to cool the APU can sometimes spill, and become uneven, which impacts (at least) the cooling. Ben Montana, owner of specialized repair shop ILoveMyConsole in France, has also been trying to bring attention to this issue for months. He says these are not isolated cases. According to him, the risk is high for PS5s that have been standing vertically for a long time, and he says all models are impacted. This includes Digital edition consoles, as shown in the picture below (some people theorize that the vibrations of the Blu Ray drive could make the issue more severe on Physical Edition PS5s)

That will fry the entire system after it's out of warranty. :story: This is the most cursed console I've ever heard of, holy shit

That will probably then become an Epic Games Store exclusive, and fuck Epic too.

Seriously? The PS5 runs so hot Sony couldn't use thermal paste to cool the CPU? They went for liquid metal usually only used by extreme overclockers trying to push 7, 8 GHz? Not even the people running i9s and 4090s have to go that far! Brings to mind this old classic:

In other news, I tried to play my PS1 today but it turns out that I need a laser disk replacement since it does not read discs correctly. So, I bought one today and I’m kind of ticked off that I have to wait another week for it. Though, my powerlevel has slightly calmed down a bit because I remember that a thread like this exists.

It makes me relieved in a way.

PlayStation Productions and Scott Free Productions have launched development on Gravity Rush—a film based on the 2012 action-adventure video game of the same name, which Anna Mastro (Secret Society of Second Born Royals) is attached to direct from a script by Emily Jerome (Panopticon).

They just killed the studio, they are still trying to milk their ips with movies.

If the movie some how does end up happening, I would expect ports of the 2 games to tie into it.

Loco Roco and Patapon seemed products of their time made specifically for the PSP. I can sort of see why Sony has neglected these franchises. Same with PaRappa, rhythm games are not popular enough right now.

Gravity Rush though. Almost no one played it because it was a game for a dying console. Even when it was remade and was given a sequel on the PS4 no one cared. There's very little reason why Sony would care about a franchise that never really sold.

Fatal Frame 4 came out for the Wii exclusively and the studio is Nintendo's pal for giving the series support when no on else did. So, guess that's the reason why it's highlighted as a Nintendo game.

Secondly, there have been several cases of the liquid metal spilling on other parts of the motherboard, and actually killing the machine, even in consoles that have simply been sitting in their box, unopened. Liquid Metal is highly conductive, and if it touches the wrong components on the motherboard, it could lead to a short circuit.
How can an obvious design flaw like this even make it into the production stage?! This is beyond amateur hour, what the fuck? That shit should've been caught in the very earliest QC stages. Who signs off on this shit, seriously? Probably the same motherfuckers who thought funding a Gran Turismo movie is a sound business decision...
