not too widespread. Zack made a couple videos today and his fans are acting like nothing happened at all.

Plus, there wasn’t too big of a deal made out of it outside of KF. A couple of Anti CGers made videos on it and Ethan, Kelsy and Shane addressed it. That’s about it.

Comicsgate audience is small and don't care probably because the ones left had to swear loyalty to people like Cecil and Mandy Summers.. they are coomers. The CG sales pitch about making good comics and Marvel DC sucks is just to attract newbs and journos and keep the geezer old pros happy. The real fanbase is slimy coomers much like slumtown CG's Dark Grift and Finatra.

Few on the SJW side of this would honestly object to anything that happened in that video in isolation (consensual degeneracy and cuckery is très progressive), and while they might have lorded it over him once upon a time just to get under his skin, Richard isn't really a big deal anymore. That this came out so late is probably gonna mitigate a lot of the damage that there could have been.

As to why Zack would antagonize him, I don't think he would. Or at least I don't believe Zack considered his statement as being overly antagonistic towards Doug. Even assuming that's true and Zack meant no real offense, Doug seems to take any statement made about him (even tangentially) that is less than knob-slobbing praise as a personal insult. Remember: Zack is simple, Doug is petty.

Also, it was only a couple of months after this (June 2022) that the Hut saga unfolded and we found Doug had been writing a good chunk of Hut's anti-Ethan and anti-CG stuff, including the video about Zack being homeless and how funny and cool it was that Meyer didn't have a place to live. Doug stepped out from behind the curtain to take Zack to task about business matters, but used a proxy to insult Meyer personally because he wanted to maintain the facade of being an ethical, deeply religious businessman.

I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if that were the case. It actually makes more sense to me that the porn thing was less about blackmail and more of a small bit of leverage they could hold over Zack with the promise that cleaning up his act would get him access to Iconic's publishing and fulfillment.

AFAIK Ethan hasn't used the word "blackmail" to describe this situation. From what he's said, it seems this was more along the lines of leverage over him and not an attempt to get him to do anything specific in exchange for silence.

There are many wrongs in this world that aren't illegal. What Preston did wasn't illegal either and by your retarded logic, he could also be considered a persecuted victim. Of course he's not and neither is Richard. To be caught on tape willingly that way is an objectively terrible decision (except for people like Donal), especially if you have kids who will inevitably find it. It has also shed new light on his disastrous drop of the Waid lawsuit, so I think it's really important that he knows he deserves all the criticism. What was left of his rep as a comics baiter has taken another hit but aside from being translated to fewer books sold, he's not getting canceled or going to jail... so you can stop your nonsense exaggerations.
