Bam's mental state is degenerating to a critical point. I wonder why none of his friends and family haven't convinced him to check in to a mental health facility, but Bam has an ego as big as Chris Chan's when listening to other people. Because of the amount of ass kissers over the years, he only listens to people who say good things about him while ignoring anyone who criticizes him.

Someone needs to get into his head the fact that unless he stops acting like a nutcase alcoholic he'll never get unrestricted access to Phoenix. Unfortunately it seems nobody will be able to do that. The only way I think will convince him is if the surviving members of the CKY crew get together and appeal to Bam's sense of nostalgia of the "good old days" (or something) to clean up and such.

They already tried that with Jackass 4 He had everyone from Knoxvile to Steve-o showing up to support and be there for him. All he had to do to get paid and be in the movie was stay off the booze and take his meds. He failed at that and then had a melty over the fact he broke his contract with them and they took away all the money he was contracted to get. He is still on course to be left face down in his own puke and shit while having his shoes and wallet stolen.
His mother and father have given so much in keeping him alive, but there comes a point were a person does not want to be helped and you should just wash your hands of it. I know it is not as simple as that, complicated feelings get in the way, But time and time again, it always ends up with the addiction bringing not just the addict, but the ones supporting him to their knees. April and Phil do not deserve that. Spoiling a child is their sin, but it does not mean they have to be broken under that childs adult addiction problems.

It did Novak good so it might be the only thing left to try when it comes to fixing Bam.

His dad is in a shittier position; he can either keep being his accountant and ensure he can’t piss away his entire fortune or he washes his hands of his son and watched him go flat broke in a few short years at best. I think a good compromise would be giving him a solid chunk of his money and tell him he can’t touch the rest until he’s got a year clean.

I get being a relentless advocate for her son. My concern is that it will get her put in an early grave from the stress of cleaning up after Bam's shitty nappys when he is 50. Thing is she is going to end up in hospital and that is when in the movies the "What have i done" kicks in and they all heal together as a family. But i expect if it did happen, he would just shrug and fuck off to another party he is too old to be at thinking finally she is going to stop nagging him. Real life addicts do not give a fuck.

Steve-O getting sober could have ended his career because he could have justifiably said, "I can't do any stunt work without being medicated, and if I can't do stunt work, I'm out of this business." For the record, the entire first season of MTV's Jackass is at least 50% Bam's CKY DVD footage. Bam filmed/wrote/edited the CKY DVD himself, which sold over a million copies in skate shops before they were featured on MTV's Jackass.

The other half of footage was produced by the Big Brother skate magazine. Big Brother skate magazine relied on Bam's underground CKY DVD footage when they were selling the Jackass idea to MTV because they didn't have much of their own footage, other than random shit they shot for the magazine's website (and maybe CD-ROMS?), such as Knoxville getting tazed.

tl;dr: Big Brother, ran by adults, stole the concept of Jackass from already successful teenager Bam Margera.

The CKY dvds share the same name as Bam's brother's band, CKY, which didn't become popular until the release of the CKY DVD.

Also very odd to claim that one of the most successful skaters of all time is "shit tier".

I think the reason CKY exploded was because it was only like 15% skating and 85% bits/stunts. The Big Brother tapes content proportions were the inverse of that.

While Jackass obviously has skate roots and underlying skate things going on, the shows and movies were almost entirely bit/stunt centric.

Interesting to see how that format evolved.

Edit to add: in a media franchise that was dependent on people getting themselves fucked up doing crazy stunts, the only thing that made Bam stand out was that every time he was up to bat, there was a better than even chance he’d cry or bitch out.

I don't know if this has been talked about in the thread, but Bam's kid was (is?) breastfeeding way too late. There were some sort of IG live postings or something where you can see Bam's wife just breast feeding the toddler.

This is bad for his development physically if she's using substances because he would essentially be drinking contaminated breastmilk all day long. Sucking on mama's boobies too late is surely bad on a kid's mental development too.
