Mechassault is one of my favorite games and got me into mechs, but don't let a battletech sperg hear you say that.

There's nothing wrong with Mechassault, it's just a really bad adaptation of the source material. Taken on it's own it's a bitchin' game, and this is coming from a BT sperg.

It's unreal to me they weren't absolutely massacred for that behavior. Imagine telling an overwhelming portion of your current (and potential future) customers that they literally don't matter unless they "say the line" and laughing off billions of dollars of combined direct property damage, lost business and the knock-on effects of both like it's no big deal.

With Xbox I can tolerate it slightly more because A: backwards compatability including to the OG Xbox to a limited scale, B: bitchin high speed servers, C: they know how to build a high powered machine with no compromises, including keeping the 4k player in with cd capability. They still cuck out on pride month yes, but Sony fanboys, especially them, are just another level of cringe.

I'll go off topic but I had my doubts about a console Mechwarrior game. I had PS2 when I was a wee tot so Xbox is kind of new to me beyond playing at a friend's house. Mech-Assualt fucking rocked. I even got Mechwarrior 2 for PSX. They were all really good ports and I did not expect that. I'm kind of a consoomer when it comes to Battletech shit but in my defense 60 ton death robots are awesome.

All this talk about retro collecting makes me deeply deeply sad that I sold my copy of earthbound for 40 bucks for drug money back when I was in a bad way. I paid like 85 for it and now the loose legit carts are like 300 bucks.

I collect retro shit or I did, but it was only games that meant something to me in some form or had an impact on me like Super Metroid and Mario RPG.

Never had the desire to hoard crap titles just because i want "muh compete collection"

In all fairness that's all I play Living Legends for as well, if I want a story I'll read the books or play one of the turnbased games and make my own.

I’m not a SNES collector but generally vidya prices go through a spike when the generation that grew up with them hits young adulthood and wants to relive their childhood, followed by a dip when those people reach middle age and their priorities in life change - they might sell their collection to help buy a house or to turn their vidya man cave into a child’s bedroom or something. The trend might be different for the SNES depending on the amount of manchildren involved, or it might stay the same. Who knows?

It filled up about one shelf rack, with mostly Marvel characters but also some Star Wars and miscellaneous (I think at least one Rick and Morty, but I don't remember that well). Guy also had a nose ring and one of those long soybeards. The interaction wasn't long so I couldn't get a read on his personality very well, but he seemed mostly all right besides the Funko Pops.

Starting to, yes, but they are nowhere as unhinged as the anti emulation Nintendo fans. Sony fans are glad we can emulate all of the 1/2/3 games with ease now as backwards compatibility was just a pipe dream.

But Nintendo fans will dogpile you for playing a rom of a “1 of a kind” lost game that Nintendo will in no way ever release. Nintendo doesn’t care about their history and had to track down roms from the internet for the nes or snes classic for at least one game.

They always cite piracy as a problem but the solution is to make it easily obtainable and it's really weird that they're nostalgia baiting games that they aren't bothering to rerelease. Come to think of it, have we posted anything related to these "Nintendo jannies"?

It’s one of the main reason why in the past few years and change the modding community has never been able to shake this self-righteous attitude of thinking that they are the authority as to why emulation should be a bannable offense.

Most are not like this (of course) but the ones that are loud about it are mainly outnumbering the minority of people that just want to play games.
