Its more likely that being part of an established media network + the fact that he uses super abtract cartoony stuff means YouTube auto mod has more difficultly catching. Its the same logic why south park could get away with more graphic sexual imagery on TV.

His goal is to cover the entire library of the NES and other consoles in order while also putting each game in its context. He's a leftist and once every few videos has a jab at Trump or Nazis its annoying but not a deal maker. Here in this video he complains about "nazis" mass reporting a video where he covered a game with nazis as a bad guy and showed footage of swastikas and hitler when really it seems like youtube's automod marked these vids 18+ due to "hate speech" on top of some clevage also being in the video. The difference is most likely youtubes auto mod isn't trained on ZP super abstract art style and content networks have always gotten preferential treatment on this stuff. This is why so many reviewers joined groups like Machinima was for the preferential copyright and moderator treatment.

I remember Jeremy Parish. He's an example of someone I encountered "before they were famous"--his first website was a thing called Toastyfrog where he did comical, non-serious game reviews (and I don't mean like a Web 1.0 text-based Channel Awesome either... it was pretty clear they were jokes). Back then if you had anything to say to a website owner, you emailed them. Which I did a few times.

.... And he was a fucking ASSHOLE. Any thing you said he could interpret as disagreement or criticism, he would get MAD. Actually, I remember the thing I said that pissed him off the most... at one point he had removed the "funny" reviews in favor of serious ones, and I and others asked (practically begged) him to bring back the funny. He eventually did, but not before being a bitch about it.

I soon lost all desire to speak with him. And of course, much like other Web 1.0 shitheads like Kurt Kalata, Jeremy Parish is somehow still around.

I can appreciate Vidal for what he was and how he was unique, but goddamn if Buckley wasn't right that he deserved a backhand to the face to remind him that the rest of us who live in the real world have to deal with the problems people like him create rather than sit back and bitch about how imperfect people are imperfect.

Vidal was like the Monday morning quarterback but for culture and politics.: he complained about things after they happened and with this useless woe-is-me approach that did nothing but stink of the privilege the rich have when things go south.
