I'm sure it's been said a lot, but the fact this guy keeps such a consistent release schedule for 15+ years is nothing short of impressive.
There are three constants on the internet:

1. Yahtzee will make a video on Wednesday.
2. A new Freeman's Mind will be released in 6+ months and will feel exactly the same as it did back in 2009.
3. CWC will be the most pathetic human being on planet Earth.

I like that Ross has somehow managed to keep freemans mind relevant and not overstay its welcome for over a decade. Wish he would pick some actually fun obscure old games instead of largely bargain bin uninspired titles that aren’t fun or interesting. His game dungeon series is extremely hit or miss.

He did retcon his claims that Freemans mind 2 would never happen and just got to ravenholm about a year ago.

Yes, Nick, I promise not to get us demonetised in the first thirty seconds. So, as I’m sure you know, Hogwarts Legacy is based on the work of JK Rowling, who is a massive TERFy C-word. As such, reviewing it puts one in an awkward position online, as the feeling in some circles is that even acknowledging it is giving oxygen to her and her horrible C-word opinions. But damn it I have a job to do and I feel bad for the no doubt hundreds of ground-level people on the dev team who probably think she’s a C-word as much as any of us at this point, so how about this: I’ll review the game strictly on its own merits, but start out by affirming as clearly as possible that I think JK Rowling is a – we’re past thirty seconds now, right? Cunt. Does that offset things enough? The game’s set in Victorian times and none of the Harry Potter characters from the books appear in it, so if it’d make you feel any better you could just squint and try to convince yourself it’s an adaptation of The Worst Witch. Or Neil Gaiman’s Books of Magic. Or the Spellcasting 101 series. Or Discworld. Or any of the other ten million things that came up with the idea for a nerdy schoolboy wizard BEFORE JK Rowling got her sallow TERFy hands all over the concept.

Good God Almighty, just punch a hole in your bedroom wall. Hopefully he'll actually get some blowback for this ice cold take weeks after the game's been released and generally well liked, at a point in time where even normies are seeing trannies for the horrendous creeps they are.

I gave up watching it. The first minute was just him seething about JK Rowling instead of reviewing the game, and even when he started reviewing the game proper he was still seething about how other authors came up with the concept of a wizard school first.

If he hates JK Rowling that much then just boycott the game like the unhinged trannies.

Disappointing but not that surprising. He moved to California and his last book featured a genderspecial so he's been drinking the troonshine for a while now. This might be the sign to completely give up on him.

The latter half delves into actual complaints - crafting, pointless progression systems, copy-paste everything, etc. Which seems valid enough - it certainly didn't look like my kind of game, or really his.

The first half is pretty insufferable, though. Listen, I really do not care if someone hates JKR: I feel no need to stan for an author with fuck-you money who interprets lycanthropy as a good metaphor for AIDs. But at least do it in a funny way. The 'joke' is that his editors don't want him demonetized for calling her a cunt. And that joke drags on for, what, a minute and a half of a six-minute review? And to top it off, what did she even have to do with the game? She... licensed it?

Honestly, even from the perspective of someone that despises her, it would've been a far more effective good "for the cause" to take ten seconds to say you're just going to discuss the game on its merits, then trash it for being yet another vintage 2020s sandbox loot-craft-shoot-stealth-game. People who pay their own bills are on the whole more turned off by the mention of a crafting system than that some dude in california doesn't like some bong woman.
