Just for the sake of complete info: it appears that the 2nd part of this trilogy was also translated, though not the third (source: Amazon Germany).
Germans sometimes do a strange thing with titles in films and books. They might rename/translate it, but will sometimes elect to add an entirely different English title along with a German subtitle. Book 1 "The Ark - Humanity's last journey" is not followed by "Trident's forge", but rather was apparently renamed to "The Colony - A new beginning".
