At least tranny admins haven't shitted the Backrooms lore up like they did the SCP lore. Probably because making CG films takes a lot more effort than writing an entry on a website, and anything that takes effort is shunned by the Wokies.
To expand on this further, I think that the environment of the Backrooms should also have the danger of being spatially unstable in some areas, like the risk of stepping on a section of floor or touching an area of wall and being instantly killed by being partially "no-clipped" and stuck into that area of the floor or wall and subsequently crushed.
What’s missing from all these videos is the unknowable, ubiquitous evil dread that was so effective in House of Leaves. I love the idea of expanding this whole concept, but when it makes too much sense (to the point that protagonists have whimsical nicknames for what were once intangible horrors) it loses it’s power.
Just like Lovecraft stuff. When your protagonists have cutesy terms for monsters that make you think of pokemon, I’m done.
i like that the part of the series focused on revealing information in more detail is focused on the human corporate side of things instead of trying to overly flesh out the backrooms themselves.
i feel stupid having my super autism theories go up in smoke because the guy just left lol
So, it's been announced. They're creating a backrooms movie attached to A24 and Atomic Monster. What possess me off is that 17 year old Kane Parsons will be directing, which I find so stupid. Anyway, it would have worked better as a series.

I hate modern storytelling and its obsession with 'lore'. Modern lore is just explaining every single thing, with no regard as to leaving a mystery. The backrooms zoomers try and make this eldritch cosmic horror setting, but destroy any sense of atmosphere or mystery by explaining every single minute detail for no other reason than that is what they think lore is.
My take on writing lore is that it should present a possible solution, or multiple, but never outright confirm anything. By leaving things to your imagination, whatever the reader images is always going to be scarier or more interesting than whatever you can come up with yourself. Leave things open, let people speculate, but don't just outright confirm things.
There's also the polar opposite, which is the dumbass JJ Abrams mystery box approach also popular with retards who think they're edgy. The kind of people that if they were in the writing team for Alien they'd never hire Giger because "if less is more, then nothing is everything, let's not have any alien on camera and show just the victims' horror faces! People will be speculating for years about what was killing the cast!"
This gets mixed with the gay lore overdose into cringe shit like "Explain A to Y, but Z? I'll never tell hahahahahaha but I'll keep making forced references to Z for tHe mYsTeRy".
And then the reddit retards who love grimdark twist endings also step in: "And then everybody died!" like in that cesspool r/writingprompts
Here he talks about the drama. Seems to be exactly the same as the reddit post I linked above.
Drama update. Something about pedophilia. Guy talks about founding his own personal wiki at the end though I'm not sure if that ever came to anyting
He did an interview with the guy who made this iconic post that began the concept of levels in the Backrooms, and all its consequences. From what I remember in my digging he's got similar opsec, and is a sperg himself. Though he didn't seem to have any skeletons in his closet.
Talking about how he created the partygoers and his early escapades in the Wikidot. Notice a pattern here?
Talking about the movie. Spergs about copyright I think. I don't know.
How he got banned from all the main wikis, and the SCP wikis too.
And of course this guy has the opsec of fucking Chris-Chan.

full name seems to be Ray Collins, likely born in August 23 2003. And he lives in Cali, possibly LA, if anyone wants to go further with that.
Also guy has a Discord server linked in his channel bio but I'm not going to check it out.
Here's some other stuff I found interesting:
His animated avatars.
Some events Ray was a part of. Don't know about the left pic, but the right's from the California Watermelon Festival, which is a thing that exists apparently. And surprisingly enough there didn't seem to be any black people in attendance.
Some of his art.
You know what, I really like this one. No sarcasm, it's really nice.
Previously I linked his now-defunct twitter. While most of it is (like his writings) worthless bullshit, here's a few things that caught my attention:
Other drama stuff. Don't know where else to put this. Essentially Ray was being careless and posting weird shit in Discord where children could see, or something of that nature. From the tweet it began at the start of 2022, but things didn't get resolved until August. Why is that, I wonder?
I feel this is too off-topic for the thread, but since it's related to Ray I'm going to include here, just to give you guys an idea of the sheer insanity that we're dealing with.
So as it turns out Ray here was being abused by a fucking British furry fujoshi ftm and fucking Jerma stan (the quintuple combo of dangerous woman ) named Buki Fox (Joey Saiyan)
She'd already been previously covered in the Jerma thread. See below if the quote works properly.
But it did get worse. Other aliases of this stalker creature are RamMeSchlatt, Agumon949 and Agumon9494. Jerma isn't the first e-celeb she has written insane fanfics about. Ludwig, JSchlatt, people from some group named Soot House, Dream (whose fan insanity is already covered on the forum), probably more. Stalks notorious furry diaper shitter Youtuber Pyrocynical as well.
Art is also posted to the bukifox FurAffinity, including gems like this:
The fanfics, however, take the cake. "Ageplay", rape, drugging, piss, etc. Worst part is these may not even be the most deranged Jerma-themed fanfics on Archive Of Our Own.
Coming back to that grooming and pedo part from the first tweet, the creature known as Joey Saiyan (powerword unknown) was in some very sketchy Facebook groups, as evidenced by this another tranny who sexted with them when they were both minors:
This likely hasn't stopped and there's even a Twitter account (A), @bukifoxisapedo, dedicated to some of this shit.
Based on Steam and LiveJournal, "Joey" is (or was) from Knighton, Powys in Wales, UK and has an alleged DOB on 11 January 2003. I can't people search for shit, but considering the creepy underage & pedo vibes I get from this I thought it's worth documenting.
That video referenced I am certain is Ray's, but between when I first began researching this two months ago and today it's been taken down. Did manage to locate the thumbnail and title.
Didn't watch the whole video, but from what little I remember it was your typical Discord e-sexting and transphobia and all that. All of this happened like 4-6 years ago now.
Buki did a response. It's the only video remaining, and should give you an idea of what's going on hopefully.
Anyway, I did find other stuff from her. first is something called y.at, which links to some known accounts, plus a JustForFans (don't fucking click on the photos / videos tab if you want to live), which appears to be some sort of patreon / onlyfans-esque thing for weird shit that I'm not paying for. Also did find his amazon wishlist:
Fairly normal stuff for a guy to wish for. Also lolfat at 3XL
Also did find this guy's tumblr. Can't see too much without an account, but seems like there's a whole lot of Jerma simping and deflecting accusations.
TL;DR: modern wiki culture is gay; be a chad and watch found footage videos instead
This is my first real big "dox." How'd I do? Admittedly this was fairly easy -- these idiots used the same usernames everywhere. Also I realize just now that I neglected to actually put up any of Ray's projects and articles here. But I don't really care about that shit, and given that so many people simply tend to vaguely reference the wiki when criticizing it I assume most of you don't either.
How many other versions of the backrooms should there be? Is the yellow wallpaper hallways the only essence of the original backrooms worth keeping, or should it manifest as other environments as well? I agree that "levels" sounds too video-gamish, but how else should different backrooms sections be referred to?
Finally, would it be too much of a stretch to say that because people end up in the Backrooms from no-clipping out of reality, that some sections of the Backrooms are unstable enough that anybody entering these areas risks getting "glitched out" of existence entirely?
It would be in keeping with the original spirit of the Backrooms to have something about the environment being passively hazardous in some aspects other than the ambiguous shadow monster.

It's certainly possible to expand from the original yellow rooms organically in a way that's still true to the spirit of the original post.
I mean, just looking at the original image and you can make out what looks like a stair tread in that second doorway in the distance. Where does it lead? What if the backrooms were really the basement of some building (or what passes for a building) in this vast world made out of liminal spaces? In appearances and function it looks not unlike our own, but it is formed by alien forces that don't fully understand these elements are meant to be. Maybe this world exists as the boundary between our own reality and some unfathomable gulf, or otherwise Todash darkness beyond, and thus explaining where all those horrifying creatures originally no-clipped from? The possibilities are (theoretically) endless, provided you've got a good narrative to guide it.
The noclip thing is fine. I wouldn't dismiss monsters though. They're the big thing that makes the backrooms interesting as a horror concept. It's one thing to wander around the backrooms, slowly going mad and dying of thirst. That's about as scary as being lost in the woods. But it's another thing entirely to wander around the backrooms, and you know there's something else there with you, just off in the distance. Suddenly there's an immediate threat, some real conflict, and good horror. You don't even have to show it often; just the knowledge alone can drive someone to terror through sheer paranoia.
Of course, a monster takes serious effort to pull off right. You need good storytelling skills, an ability to depict a monster scarier than a teleporting black man, be able to show it in action for more than a few moments before the camera conveniently pans away, and maybe some other stuff I'm not sure what else. So naturally this is why everybody chooses the easy option.
Not a very good video imo. Guy provides no insight that you couldn't already figure out by being tangentially interested in the backrooms as a concept. He doesn't even mention Evan Royalty's video, arguably the biggest (and best) piece of backrooms fiction from before 2022:
Nah. The wikis and their stupid lore looooooooooooong predate Kane's series. IIRC the fandom was made like within a week or two of the original post dropping. The wikidot came later, probably around 2020 from what I recall about 1000dumplings. If anything Kane made the backrooms worse by making it mainstream.
