surprised none of you mentioned ivycomb/JessieBee; he's a furry troon vtuber/"content creator" who looks like a discord moderator and probably smells like it too. he does this obnoxious act where he "swears he's not a furry" over on the unoriginal mindrot that is YuTube Shorts. He also claimed to be a former member of LMG on a few of his videos

Hard to believe he used to be the wilson of tek syndicate, hiding behind his monitors never showing his face. Now TS is dead and Wendell is front and center making good content*.

*Shame 90% of his "content" is "news".
Yeah they really should just open a separate channel for their news recaps because it completely clutters the channel and people's subscription boxes. Linus can get away with his WAN shows as he makes one per week, much like GN's HW News, but Wendell and the crew shit them out almost daily, so to try and find actual content on their channel is a PITA.

Much like people like der8auer or Vadim M ending up putting the English versions on one channel and German/Russian versions on the other, Wendell should really do the same with the news videos.

Tek Syndicate, that's a name I have not heard in a long time.

I don't know, I find it kind of refreshing that Level1Techs aren't constantly pandering to the algorithm the way most other channels do. Their news show is kind of like a podcast, they're doing a "three friends talking about the news" thing, it's nice enough to listen to during a commute if your other pods haven't put out new episodes, though Ryan tends to dominate things a bit too much for my tastes and I wish Wendell/Krista would just tell him to shut up sometimes. They probably should put the news on a separate Level1Discussion channel or something though, the audience is already so tiny they can't be earning much from the news episodes, particularly not when their audience is skewed so heavily nerd that most of their viewers use adblockers, and they so frequently veer into topics the censor bot will demonetise. You could make a drinking game out of Ryan and Wendell talking about "the collapse", or Krista rolling her eyes at some stupid comment Ryan made, and it would kill you.

I think this is criticism YouTube deserves rather than Wendell&co, though. Lots of channels have to split their content into multiple channels, Linus having a separate unboxing channel because he lost too many subscribers who were annoyed by that spam of garbage content is an example of this. Linus no doubt is equally upset that a lot of his main channel subscribers who would have watched the unboxing garbage won't, because it's hidden away on a different channel. It would be better if you could just have subchannels. Level1Techs could have a Linux, a News, a Hardware, et sic porro subchannel, and when you click subscribe on the main channel you can choose types of content to ignore.

As much as I like Wendell's autistic antics, it's probably best to bear in mind that he is just as biased as Linus is. Linus will shill whoever pays him all day, but you should remember that Wendell was an adamant defender of Vega and Bulldozer right up until RDNA and Ryzen, when he was suddenly free to laugh about how hilariously awful Vega and Bulldozer were, all memory of shilling them but a week prior gone. Intel no longer sends him review samples for a reason.

I'm not talking about them separating the news from the main channel as a "muh algorithm" type of reason, but rather the "I don't want my subscription feed to get spammed with long ass news readings I only care about the fun tech videos" type of reason.

I think it would help if YouTube moved their sorry asses and made it so that a channel can mark specific videos into groups and then when you subscribe a channel you can choose which video groups to get notified about.

Yes, that's exactly what I meant with "subchannel". Video groups is a much better term for it.

Sadly thats every youtuber, and theres a reason the only tech channel I sub to is GN. So much of youtube depends on sponsors sending shit that every channel is virtually the same.

At least wendell knows his shit and doesn't need youtube to survive; Unlike linus who will immediately go bankrupt without jewtube.

In a recent video he showed clips that apparently reveal that he has cameras filming his living room at all times:

Must be nice for his kids knowing that everything they do in their own home is being recorded and could be put on the internet and essentially archived forever. Also lol at him bluring his windows but not his kids' faces; Sebastian really has his priorities straight.

It's kind of weird how the boy doesn't sit next to his sisters. Feeds into the internet's theory that that kid has personality issues.

He does it as if his address has not already leaked, I am sure he knows it has leaked already too

I wouldnt care who else is on the couch with me, if I can get a side seat with the armrest i will at all costs, he is probably the same. Who the fuck wants to sit in the middle right next to a perfectly good armrest seat?

The issue here is that he’s using CCTV recordings to make videos, not that he has a CCTV system. In this day and age there’s no excuse for anyone not to have CCTV on the exterior and in the shared rooms of their homes, IP cameras and a NAS to store a month’s worth of video are cheap and there are pre-made Linux distros that make setting it up easy, as well as installation guys who’ll do it reasonably cheap if you don’t want to deal with it yourself.

But using these clips for his YouTube channel I consider a huge breach of trust. I actually think it’s worse than those “parenting channels”, because at least in those the kids are aware they’re being filmed. I wouldn’t have minded if he’d put up a camera on a tripod or something, the children would have been aware they’re being recorded, but without that there’s not even the illusion of consent. Abusing surveillance video like this is pretty dark.

God that house is so sterile, with all his money he can't hire a decorator to come in and make it look cozy? A sweedish prison cell looks more homey and probably less cameras.

Sure hope no one hacks into his "smart" interior CCTV camera network and records his entire household over a week-long period!
WE GOT HACKED!!!!(Again) With soyface Linus and a security cam in the thumbnail.
He would turn any event like that in to a video for the channel. He did it the first time around when his website got compromised. How he plays it in the video could go opposite ways. Either MUH KIDS IN DANGER or will laugh it off if it was a fail hack.

He would also complain about Ubiquity for not making a hack-proof product while the hackers actually used vulnerabilities in every other IOT devices and retarded wireless gizmos he has and not actually hacked the ubiquity

Are you from the UK, by any chance?
Belarus.
I'm not saying "you should let the government put surveillance videos in every room of your house" like an anglo would, nor that you should install a cameras that upload everything directly to Facebook like a yank would, I'm saying you should buy your own system, with local storage, so you'll have video evidence of whatever anyone does against you. Only the adults of your household should have the password to access it, and your whole family needs to trust each other that the video will only be used in case someone outside the family commits a crime against the family.

It might be more necessary over here, though, we still have a functioning government. Westerners would be better suited just buying lots of guns and ammunition, to ward off the raiders coming to steal your eggs and other valuables.

One of the most annoying things he does, I hate these videos and titles so much. Just because it has a lot of amazon reviews doesn't mean its being bought. I bet i could look at the review page and see that they just repurposed a different product's page to cannibalize the reviews.
