Oh cry me a fucking river. Qt injected herself into this fucking drama, per fucking usual. Her name wasn't even being floated until she started popping off on twitter. This happens every.single.time with her. Like when xqc and adept were fighting live, she was SO quick to demonize xqc as a woman hater, without even thinking twice as to the situation at hand (she later apologizes). This is clearly her MO, and I agree with destiny. She has a right to be upset, but was being overtly dramatic (imo for veiws), and you'd think someone had just physically assaulted her. As said earlier in thread, this is unironically the funniest shit ethans done in years, and it's pathetic how quick he caved on an apology. It's obvious that Ethans humor isn't syncing with the audience he's trying so desperately to placate, and eventually it's going to be the end of his career.

The more people spread this whole story around, the more emphasis I see getting placed on QT which just feels so surreal to me. Deepfakes? IMO incredibly gross, I get why someone would be upset with it and want it removed.
Getting caught watching deepfakes of your coworkers and friends gf due to a 2 frame alt-tab from a 4 day old VOD? Endlessly hilarious.

I'll grant that it's a shitty thing to do and I can see how someone would be pissed -- but after the Atrioc story broke, I went looking for deepfakes from the guy who's site he'd been trawling.

While that site is pay only, there was another site that had some short clips. All of the ones that I watched, it was really obvious that they were edited fakes. So much so that shallowfakes would be a more appropriate title for them.

I've seen deepfake stills that were convincing. I'm sure it's possible to do good deepfake video as well. But deepfake porn seems really hard -- matching the positon of the head to that of the body, matching the skin tones, etc. They hadn't barely attempted to do any of this in the half dozen clips that I'd watched.

Perhaps it's just me but if I was a woman and somebody had put up something like this of me, I might be irritated, but I'd never pay money to take it down. I just don't think anyone would think it was real.

But perhaps there are really good ones out there that I haven't seen?

Ludwig actually spoke pretty openly about this a couple months back, but he specifically tries to not hang out with most of the big name cloud chasing streamers outside of like, big events or anything riding on cross-promotional events. Which does sound like a pretty retarded excuse when he literally has a content company, but that aside. He's mentioned that he's been friends with Atrioc for years, and going by the video he made on this drama I'm pretty sure he's pretty genuinely distraught over it. With QT over his shoulder he has no choice but to try and take a neutral position, in fact his video mostly relates to the greater problem of deepfakes, but at the end of the video he's so close to trying to defend Atrioc but he can't say too much in his favor.

Really if we compare the difference between influencers committing literal rape and someone looking at AI porn, they're being treated as almost the same thing, but realistically I don't think Atrioc'll be super negatively affected in the long run, most of his main content is solo stuff anyway, and he'll likely integrate into doing stuff with Ludwig again gradually.

Anyway I'm getting very off topic when this is the h3 thread. I do really wish someone would put into perspective that this isn't as completely fucked as some situations can be, even if it's understandably fucked, and it'd also be the only funny thing Ethan's done in years if he decided to double down on it.

If I care enough about my image to drop five figures removing fake porn, I would probably hold back from ugly crying in a way that immediately will be spread by others. Of course I don't have a livelihood dependent on attention and good PR. This is an example of a "benign" use but let's keep in mind there's 30 different versions of the following for every second of video:

she's been streaming for years, whatever training people wanna do they'll already do with what's out there, a few minutes of a crying face isn't going to change shit. Sure it may make the some more extreme deepfakes slightly more realistic but i'm not sure it makes any difference for her, the more extreme stuff might even be preferable because it's far more outlandish and obvious that is fake. Sure at the end of the day the best way to deal with it is to not bring attention to it but with the whole drama already happening idk if it changed much. I really doubt it was some PR stunt.

Ethan seems really out of touch with even his own crew. His online habits must be so different from how he tries to present in real life, that he completely forgets what is and is not funny to average people.
