The KOTH revival is one of those things where I'm 50/50 on if it will be any good or not. The Beavis & Butt-Head revival is actually good but that's Paramount and they aren't as Woke or as controlling as Disney is.
A lot of this is going to be riding on how much creative control they will let Judge and Daniels have.
On my series rewatch, Im up to season 7. I just watched Pigmalion.
I forgot how twisted and dark that episode got. Back then, I guess I took it for granted because South Park did a lot of dark stuff too.
But looking at it now, this is not something I'd expect from King of the Hill. Still a great episode though, lol.
Pigmalion's so infamously dark precisely because it felt so utterly out of place when it originally aired. It was obviously a Halloween episode that was written during Season 5 and meant to air during Season 6, but for several reasons, it got delayed. Some people say it got delayed for being too dark, but I'm not entirely sure that's the main reason.
This was the start of football pre-empting most of the fall lineup on Fox during the early 2000's, when even The Simpsons had to wait until November to air their Treehouse of Horror episodes, so I guess the showrunners felt airing a Halloween episode in November or in December would be tacky. The Simpsons got a pass because they always had an annual Halloween special since the second season.
Pigmalion finally aired in Season 7, but not during Halloween since once again, football pre-empted any Sunday premieres until the start of November. Instead, it aired in the middle of January, which made the episode more jarring.
If Pigmalion was meant to be a Season 6 episode, that would kinda explain why it's so out there as well. It's the same season where Bill stole a tank while Peggy nearly caused an international incident by her sheer incompetence as a Spanish teacher. Season 6 is one of the more wacky seasons in terms of outlandish plots but it's also one of the best seasons as well, IMHO.
