I personally agree with him, I've always thought that some of the segments from "KABLAM" back in the day just were just downright disturbing in an unintentional way. It's the sort of stuff that you would see on adult swim after trying to pull an all nighter. Also I definitely recommend this channel as well if no one else has already had before.

It's really exhausting browsing through them and they provide zero context as to the content of the video. They are just as bad as zoomed in faces of people with over-exaggerated expressions to me.

I occasionally watch clips from Jerma that get recommended to me on the Home tab, and without looking at the uploader of this vid, I was 100% sure it was just another shitpost about him being a psycho. I mean, the face in the thumbnail even resembles him a bit.

Normally Hand’s thumbnails aren’t that bad so I hope this isn’t a start to a trend for him.

I'm really into detailed disaster explanations, stuff like Plainly Difficult, Fascinating Horror, Disaster Breakdown and one of my new faves, Brick Immortar.

Any others in this genre you'd recommend doing good, well researched work? The less they put themselves on camera, the better (except for Justin Whang, but it actually works for him)

That’s the issue, though, Mandela fucking isn’t. It’s annoying as shit. Gemini, the Monument series (until the creator went insane), Local58, even that Gilbert Garfield parody are all more interesting.

I was wondering if something was off about him, was pretty annoying when he nuked the entire original series off his channel because that came to it's end. His dad died during the first run, right? I'd hazard that's the key to the downward spiral. Sucks.

Is this just aping off of Mystery Flesh Pit National Park? That's all I could think of looking at the home page and all the talk about an accident that forced the closure of the park.

I'm surpised nobody's made this point, but based on the main page gif I think he is aping The Centrifuge Brain Project, a short film about an eerily similar concept. Just no disaster or anything obtusely arg related in that. In my opinion it does what he's attempting to do far better, and it is subtle in comparison.

It actually seems like the liminalland.net main page is just copied directly from the unedited version of the video's first ride.

It looks AI generated. Image gens struggle a lot with faces so it isn't surprising that it shits the bed with a whole group people.

They're 100% ai generated. It sucks he's overusing the tech so much. It's good at getting some interesting concepts for your work but just outright using a batch of low res outputs is fucking lazy. I don't expect this project to end very well if he's skimping out so readily.

It’s obnoxious. I love looking at “back rooms” and “liminal space” images with no info attached. The idea lost its charm when people started to give these images lore.

I like how the link actually leads to an online shop already filled to the brim with shirts and hoodies and shit that you have to navigate before you get to see the actual story. He's confident about the project, I suppose.

I have no problem with AI art but when you’re trying to sell me on the idea that this is a website with real pictures of the park but you can’t even be bothered to fix the garbled text the AI generated on the signs….

The real issue is the overly obvious ai faces. Really makes a video like this

not work when every face is incorrect. It also doesn't help that this is a bog standard analog horror training tape which is almost a cliche of a cliche in the community now. I'll go ahead and say that the general concept of what he is trying to do here grew on me a bit after reading a bit more, but in other ways it's clear that him and Nick are trying very hard to copy everything that has worked for other people and just slap it in here. For the good parts, there's more effort clear in parts like this which do evoke mystery flesh pit correctly. The actually more subtle backstory of the park being built right into the site of some obscure powerplant that somehow generated 'clean energy' but never explained how and the historical images from that are leagues better than the liminal park parts of liminal park. But just when I start to get immersed, there's more crap like an ARG being stapled onto it. Pretty easy to look up, but I'll just put it here. The password for 1989 park closure page is currently riteofpassage. People found this part out just from guessing based on 'rite' being an employee code at the end of the embedded video. It doesn't really matter, though, because entering the password doesn't get you right in. It just gives you this image


So from there it's part additional guessing game and part annoying communication with probably Nexpo or Nick through a multitude of phone numbers they've set up to trickle other clues in. It's just so overdone and so trite, why do we need this shit? It doesn't add to the horror.

Dark History does this.
Maritime Horrors has a lot of ship-related disasters.
WellINever also discusses disasters on occassion and their presenter is very inoffensive.

There’s no horror. That’s the problem.

Analogue horror only works when it’s presented organically. When you have to click through the gift shop page before you even see the “story” you’re completely smacked in the face once again with the fact that the whole thing is fake.

When you announce a project like this you’ve already ruined it imho. We all know it’s not real because we aren’t delusional, but suspension of disbelief only goes so far.
