Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

an anime adaption aimed at edgy teenagers would probably make way more bank than whatever the fuck Velma is trying to do so it might happen eventually :optimistic:
I saw someone have an “anime Scooby Doo” concept that was essentially the original version of “Ghost Stories”, just with Scooby Doo. It was oddly fitting.

Post-Soviet Russian Animation

Succeeding this thread here.
Speaking of which, here's some other good Post-Soviet animations i've found.

The Clinic by Aleksandr Bubnov (1993)

Christmas by Mikhail Aldashin (1996)

I Can Hear You by Alexei Karayev (1992) (English Sub)

Adagio by Garry Bardin (2000)

The Cord by Aleksandr Bubnov (2019)

Zheltukin by Mariya Muat (2003) (no English Sub)

Shema Israel by Stanislav Sokolov (2003)

Nothing but drama until spring huh? Oh well at least we're gabbing about something to keep the thread alive.

Well I'm disappointed that the original creator was involved in this offer revival. I won't lie why did people here think he was based? Did I miss something.
Who thought that? Making a not lame show starring negros shouldn't equal based in my opinion. Now I bet he's just like most creators who just give the Yay or Nay on certain things and gets paid for it. To quote Nostalgia Chick from memory from her Tarzan 2 video (that i can't find anymore did she DFE?): "We all need to suckle that Disney teet one in a while."

really hard not to "bitch about wokeshit" when that's all there is on these boards anymore. well that and porn.

What show are they watching that actually uses the word tranny?
No clue. Just mock the anonbitch and enjoy your show.

I didn't know David Simpson made a 4chan account.

Tbf it is a pretty uggo looking movie that's about puberty and menstral cycles. So of course a parent would probably be a bit uncomfortable about stuff like this in a movie geared towards a PG audience.
I think, maybe, idk I haven't bothered watching it yet because it didn't really interest me.

sad thing is i actually skimmed the original comics run from 2011 and while its pretty by the book that run could have made for an average nothing special not too bad western cartoon. It's not like assigned male which Billy boy has always, ALWAYS used to preach his, "wah wah im a poor opressed transwoman and every time you deny gender reaffirming care you're making kids 41 themselves." mentality.

Still Nick did dodge one helluva bullet, I could almost see the tweets saying "our first nicktoon created by a transwoman!" Nobody cared when mighty B was your first nicktoon made by a natural born woman, nobody cared for your first nicktoon created by a mexican, and nobody cared for your first nicktoon created by a jungle bunny.....actually have their been any nicktoons created by black folk?

Bill Cosby created Little Bill for Nick Jr if that counts?

To defend El Tigre, it was treated unfairly as it was one of those NickToons that got killed by the Sponge and Nick's retarded needs Sponge numbers policy. Making Fiends, another female run show, was hit the hardest by this only a month after. Also surprised Making Fiends wasn't the first female directed series, it is always proclaimed to be, but I guess it missed the mark by a few months.

Not the first nick toon created by a hispanic though, Invader Zim was. Though Zim was...shall we say a lot more subtle than El Tigre. That show wore its mexican heritage on it's shoulder like a taco truck in El Paso.
I assumed you were talking about El Tigre as it is way less popular and got shitcanned way faster than Zim. Plus it was within the same period as Mighty B. My bad, Vasquez completely left my mind when writing.

Jorge Gutierrez (director of The Book of Life and creator of Maya and The Three) created it, so that's most likely why. Still better than the alternative though
