Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but does courtship always end in marriage?

Not necessarily. Nurie has a failed courtship to a dentist, who realizNurie was far too undereducated to teach any children they might have. Josh Dugger's first courtship ended because they learned he was an unphased child molester.

As long as Jill and Aunt Ellen don't get into a catfight again, this marriage should go through. But Jill has pissed Ellen off before.

Indeed, the only thing particularly noteworthy about her appearance is how little chin she has, but Heidi is fairly pretty (and much more attractive than Tim).

I would say her willingness to wear a shapeless sack and Chinese factory-made fake pearls (and immortalizing it by wearing it in a video where she announces a huge milestone in her life) is more questionable about her than her appearance, but it’s Jill Rodrigues’ World, they all just live in it.

I'm always amused that fundies take the King James Bible as the ~~ literal ~~ word of God. Like any of these fools know Aramaic, or ancient Greek, and can interpret the earliest scriptures... which are still a game of religious Telephone from the actual word of Yeshua of Bethlehem.

I wonder if any of them have ever heard of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Or any of the scriptures that got booted at the Council of Nicaea? Incidentally, the author of that book, Joshua Harris, is now a divorced atheist; he had the book withdrawn from publication, and apologized for the damage it caused. On another topic: The clothing choices she has are strange. Bright red dress that's too big. I believe Gothard fundies also do not wear bright red, which makes me wonder where the dress even came from. Aunt Ellen's closet? Why would Aunt Ellen own a bright red dress? Where does she wear that dress to? Did Jill buy/find that dress in a dumpster and give it to Milk or whatever her name is? And the green, tea length gown in winter is just weird. She looks nice in it, but it feels like the wrong season and environment. I also feel it's showing too much skin, relative to what the standard is for conservative Christians, but these guys seem to think if their thighs, midriffs, and chests are covered, they're good. Again, it might just be some weird paranoia, but I feel like this girl's body is being put on display by Jill. I could be wrong.

Since Jill curates and cherry picks everything, I think there's a chance Jill is doing that, and trying to make her look as bad as possible. I hate to see someone scorned by the Rods, Kiwis, and everyone when she really hasn't done anything other than not be very bright or beautiful.

It was a 19th birthday present from Timmay. Since the women in Heidi's family wear sluttish PANTS, I'm sure Tim has had numerous talks with Heidi about how wrong and horrible pants are on women, and how he expects better from her as his promised wife.

Here is a photo of Heidi taken by her mother on her birthday. Heidi stopped wearing pants some time around last spring, but you can see here that when given a choice, she wears age appropriate and fitted clothing. That skirt doesn't even cover her knees while seated, escandelo!

The massively oversized red dress (and the tacky necklace) is a little hint from Tim about how he expects her to dress. The revealing neckline was probably an accident that stems from Tim wanting her clothes loose, and there wasn't enough time between the birthday and the courtship announcement to sew in a MAHDESTY panel.

Here's the dress she wore to Kaylee's wedding (she'sthe center one in the group wearing a massively oversized jacket and skirt) - and low, there is Tim lurking in the background. Noticing a theme here?

This last screenshot off Jill's phone tells us a lot: Jill uses a Samsung. She and Shrek apparently still control Nurie's phone, because they had one delivered to her (lol like a lost or broken phone can stop Jill from calling you 20 times a day, Nurie - nice try though!). Are the Coveretts permissive/worldly enough to let their kids have close friends that are that non-fundie?

Honestly I'm a bit perplexed by this family but at the same time I don't come from this world so I don't know what's normal.

The oldest daughter Hallie dated/was together with her husband for 4 years before getting married.


This sister also has an active Tiktok account that she was posting to even before getting married. What I find interesting is that the middle sister Hope (pic of the sisters with names and birth order is below) is featured several times in the old videos starting from Dec 2021, but there's no trace of Heidi. Also Hallie makes a video with Hope where she uses the hashtag #besties and in the video the text is "when your big sister/bestie gets engaged".


Based on this I wonder if Heidi felt left out and maybe also like the ugly duckling in comparison to her sisters who have similar features. Her personality might also differ from her sisters with them being more outgoing and maybe she's more shy. Then Tim comes along showing her some attention and maybe that's all it took for her to want to date him. She wouldn't be the first woman in history this has happened to. I only hope Tim will treat her nicely.
