One time I was working (I do retail) and this guy came up to me and asked for the directions to the nearest movie theater. I showed him how to get there using Google maps and he said "thanks I like to ask people because I spend way too much time in my phone" then I said "me too, my favorite thing to look at on my phone is witches. One of them got mad at me because I was making fun of her so I painted a picture of her pet rat and she wasn't mad at me anymore." Then he said "uuhhhhhhh ok" and ran away.

This is the most adorable thing I've read in weeks, and it warms my heart that I was there to witness the inter-rat-ction when it happened.

I am completely unfamiliar with this woman (aside from seeing some mentions of her here), but this video has me in whoops. "Lucky Girl" manifestation? That's called confirmation bias -- when you focus on the good things that happen to you you naturally recall those and forget the bad, and the reverse is true too. I don't view it as a bad thing, necessarily, as it makes the person happier which generally results in more positive actions and outcomes but it's not "manifestation" created by the universe. <-- If she believes nonsense like this no wonder she finds being fat inexplicable -- it's not like she should be focusing on losing weight, after all, and taking proactive steps towards it. The universe should just make her skinny because that's what she wants and she's made the appropriate arcane gestures and sacrifices!

Because Tumblr witches aren't autists, they're the opposite. Autists become reactionaries because they want a hierarchical society with clear rules, BPDs want these fluid belief systems where you can make something up to justify what you want in the moment.

Ancestor worship was the first religion of the indo european race; the hearth of the home was the center of the religion, the flame was always kept alight, and tended to day and night as extinguishing of it would draw the ire of the manes(their ancestors). Before the conception of higher beings entered the European's mind he feared his ancestors and his ancestors alone; no other families lineage haunted his mind. From this point religion evolved and began to incorporate higher deities(zeus, apollo, etc...) which established a religious bond between the inhabitants of the cities and would eventually come to usurp ancestor worship, but never completely smother its flame. It wasn't until the advent of christ that the european finally moved away from ancestor worship, but you wont find any of that in the percy jackson novels so I don't know why I expect them to know this.

You see ancestor worship blend into the Greek pantheon as late as Herodotus' writings, many kings and peoples are claimed to be descended from half-God heroes like Herakles.

Imagine wanting to be oppressed so badly you make up an entire fake religion and history of Karelians and pass it off as "authentic traditions." If they want to be oppressed so badly, why not just go to Karelia and start petitioning the Russian government to rejoin Karelia to Finland?
