Disney Adults / Disneymania

Little girls still like their classic princess stuff. Disney is kind of lame nowadays though, if i were a kid i'd much prefer the universal parks, as well as anime and videogames who kids today like much more than western animation. The marketing for adults must be filling in those gaps where they are loosing ground.
This is something that both China and Disney failed to foresee. Kids today don't really like Disney anymore nor like it like their parents do. A lot of these kids like manga and video games. They want to see the new Demon Slayer, Sonic, or Mario movie not the new Marvel, Star Wars or Pixar movie. This is a problem for China as they want the next generation to be brainwashed foot soldiers for America's cultural revolution but their puppet Disney is unable to maintain the attention of the youth. Without the support of the next generation China's gradual conquest of America is one that is doomed to failure.

Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater here, Disney has done some impressive things in it's history, which makes it all the more sadder to see it being ruined by dipshits.

And all the more infuriating that Disney's hated enemies are now dancing on his grave and gloating over how they've corrupted the company that bears his name.

Disney adults and Disney derangement syndrome are two sides of the same coin, and come from the same sociopolitical camp. Woke leftists, neo-marxists, and confused liberals who think that they're commies.

I grew up going to Disney World a lot as a kid.
It was kind of fun back then but it is an absolute trash-pile shithole now.
Very overpopulated, very trashy. It is a crowed hell (especially during summer).
It amazes me that people book tickets to Disney during fucking summer and then bitch about the heat.
This is the fucking sunshine state for a reason, and we have humidity as well because Florida is a fucking peninsula so the air feels like a sauna.
Even now in February it is still pretty hot outside for the most part, even for us natives you have to plan ahead to stay hydrated and pace yourself.
We essentially have one month of Winter from late December through early January in Central Florida and that is it.
We also have these little demon's spawn sent by Satan called "love bugs" which invade at different times of year and can make life absolute hell.
FUCKING NIGGER.jpg
FUCKING NIGGERS.jpg
<-- Not even an uncommonly large swarm. Seriously fucking fuck love bugs.

Best time to go is during Jan or Feb but even then it is not worth it. Everything is expensive as fuck, it really isn't what it used to be.
If you really want to and you are in town, maybe swing by Downtown Disney for an expensive afternoon and see a movie or something.
I saw the Star Wars Disney park awhile ago and it was kind of fun, but only if you have the money for it.
My little plastic Star Wars 13oz Coke bottle cost me six bucks I think, and they don't sell regular bottles in the Star Wars park.
Apologies for language.

-All four Disney World parks (Hollywood Studios > Magic Kingdom > Epcot > Animal Kingdom)
-Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon (Volcano Bay is better)
-Disney Cruise (Nice, but nowhere near worth the cash. Royal Caribbean is much better.)

I've just been informed of #poohsized, which is a campaign for "size inclusivity" at Disney:

This is in the right direction and I would add further that these whales and manchildren are suffering from an acute case of Peter Pan syndrome who think money can buy them happiness.
I wonder if there are statistics you can find that back up the idea that a good chunk of Disney's audience and park attendees are childless, single, and are 35+ years old.
If there are, DEFINITELY include them in the OP.
Updated with both!
I feel like there's subcategories of disney adults and i would like to go over the ones ive found

strokediscow: these are the people who are posting the 200+ dollars of food that they buy , they go to disney to gorge themselves on all the food and then act surprised when they cant fit onto the rides. they are the same people who complain that their mobility scooters are a legitimate disability

peter trans: These are the disney adults who are constantly screeching for diversity in the parks/movies to an annoying level, you can find them unwashed outside the spanish pavilions screeching about how "problematic" it is. they will send 500$ on merch for any of the POC characters and will take any criticism of the films as racist

martyrs of the mountain: these are in interesting breed of disney adults, they are the ones going on social media and to the parks to protest all changes the park is doing. most notably they are the ones buying shirts that read "briar lives matter" they will consoom anything that reminds them of the "good old day" they are screaming about the removal of splash mountain and yet haven't ridden it since it opened
Adding this

The Maelstrom becoming a Frozen ride brought a LOT of the martyrs out. I enjoyed it way to much when the ride screws up as it often does and Elsa has no face when you get to the top of the lift hill.

What makes it more fun is right when you get here you drop about 3 feet and go backwards so its like a lovely jump scare for the kiddos.
"Sen! I WANT SEN! BRING ME SEN!"

They come off as wanting Disney to fail for "betraying" them.

Complaining about a server's attitude is peak Disney Adult, though. CM's are miserable because entitled retail customers have nothing on entitled Disney visitors. In their eyes everyone who works there has to serve their every whim because it's their job to make the Disney visit ~magical~.

I can understand and somewhat empathize with a fixation on immersive escapism, but to fixate on such a lame set of IPs... that I can't wrap my mind around. And I can't imagine the Disney theme park experience is immersive enough to satisfy modern people whose expectations have been refined to such a high level by all the special effects of modern films and vidya. Maybe in the 1960s, but certainly not now.
Now I see why American Mcgee aspired to be like a grim-dark version of Walt when he created his vidya series of Alice in Wonderland.

I dunno, practical effects are still pretty cool, even when used alongside cheap-ass projection mapping.

Disney doesn't have any national or ideological allegiance except for making money and the asian market is just bigger today than western ones. Americans put too much emotional stock and their cultural identity on these huge corporations that will ultimately just throw their native country under the bus if there's a buck to be made elsewhere but thats just capitalist logic, nothing personal. There's the famous Lenin quote "The Capitalists will sell us the rope with which we will hang them"

A subtype I haven't seen mentioned yet are the Epcot obsessives. I don't have any links off the top of my head, but they exclusively see Walt as a futurist genius and don't care about anything else he did, like animation or even theme parks in general. Expect constantly talking about how when they were 2 years old Epcot made them understand that they had to make the future just like it and big time sperging about Horizons being demolished.

I've become terrified of enjoying anything anymore because of this like this. I fell in love with the Disney parks on an aesthetic level around the turn of the millennium (I'm one of those nerds who can rattle off technical and effects trivia about how different gags are done on each ride), I was in theater for decades, I collect vinyl, I was a huge comic book nerd when I was younger, played D&D in middle school -- and every one of these joys has been pounded into a fine mist by insufferable childless AWFLs and their purse-puppy besties and soyfilled husbandsons. These fat, shrieking harpies have ruined something joyous and wonderful that should have been preserved for real families and kids at heart for generations, and now it's just one more money sponge for horrible white women and whatever their current sociopolitical shiny object happens to be. I am so tired of these ghoulish, nasty people ruining everything good and magical and happy about the world and I long for a real cultural fire (in Minecraft, and not literally) to exorcise these doughy demons from our pop cultural landscape once and for all.

Every time I’ve been to WDW I’ve had a thoroughly good time watching the foreign visitors who aren’t accustomed to the heat and humidity. As a person from a part of the world where temperatures soar for most of the year it’s particularly fascinating seeing the Chinese and Euro mums pouring water over their kids’ heads, not realizing that it’s only going to cool them for a minute before they become sticky since the humidity won’t allow for evaporation. I do have to wonder how many instathots have heat stroke every year because they insist on wearing those ridiculous sweatshirts/jumpers in central Florida during the month of May.

Disney's a weird animal in the American media footprint on the world.
On top of all that, Disney greenlit movies and TV shows hosted by Heinz Haber, Wernher von Braun, and Alexander de Seversky. All presented as entertainment.

EDIT: Turns out two of these guys were snapped up by Operation Paperclip and the third tossed out of his motherland by Commies.

"Sen! I WANT SEN! BRING ME SEN!"

Holy cow! (literally). In the last two fatty videos the fatties can barely breathe as they complain about not being able to fit in things.

Trying to squeeze your elephantine ass into rides that don't fit you is extremely dangerous. Let us not forget the teen boy that was killed falling from a ride at another park. He was too fat for the ride and the operator attempted to get him in the seat anyway. I couldn't bear to watch the video. But it's apparently audibly gruesome.

If you keep making accommodations for people who sink freight elevators and have to be weighed at the zoo then you are just encouraging these piggies to keep getting bigger. The food vendors will profit but the rides will suffer. And if one of these obeasts dies in a fat induced ride accident fatphobia will be blamed.

which is a campaign for "size inclusivity"
The crazy thing about these videos is she clearly could fit into all the turnstiles if she just walked sideways and dealt with being uncomfortable for 0.5 seconds and she was able to ride everything without too much struggle. It's not like thrill parks where they have weight limits on rides and the lap bars on some rides are tight enough to be uncomfortable for a normal person

Heck, my dream job as a kid was being a Disney Imagineer.

We live in sad times.

The few times I remember watching the Disney Channel at a friend's house (our cable system didn't have it) was during the 90s, before they went all in on the tween sitcoms and stuff and seemed to be genuinely confused about what to do with their channel. It all seemed very safe and wienery, like Nickelodeon with all the hip 90s edge ditched. I'm not against family friendly entertainment, far from it, but this seemed completely neutered- which is funny when you think that so many of Disney's animated films veer into some territory that's darker and scarier for younger children.

The only good thing I remember was DuckTales reruns, and I could get on Channel 5. Everything else seemed way too defanged. This was an era when I was staying up late to watch Beavis and Butt-head, I can't watch a fucking Little Mermaid animated series.

Disney Channel fans were losers.
Disney Channel was pretty cool in the 90s, like I said I got to see some cool older movies I probably wouldn't have otherwise and enjoyed some of the cartoons they aired, they also had the "Disney Vault" which would air old shows like Zorro, though you're right that channels like Nick were cooler.

But I bailed HARD when they introduced the teen sitcoms despite supposedly being the age group they were aimed at, they were painfully lame.

And yeah, I hate to think of any 90s kid that didn't sneak in some edgier affair late at night, like Beavis & Butthead, Celebrity Death Match or the highly obscure Cartoon Sushi (and later the earliest days of Adult Swim)

Hell, I would even watch a little of Howard Stern's E airings of his radio show sometimes as a kid.

You were a mental midget if you didn't have at least some curiosity about the adult world as a kid and it's no surprise that those that didn't grew up to be very stunted adults.

A good portion of them view it as their great cultural conquest. Them going is their victory lap. Especially the gay men who hang out at Disney.
There's a certain subset of gay men who base their personalities around Disney villains, especially Ursula.

Growing up they saw these "queer coded" villains trying to get between a heterosexual romance and sympathized a little too much and now here we are, they are villains actively trying to destroy heterosexuality.

Yes, like I said it's obvious when these people obsess over "Disney" it's Eisner era and Iger era and they actually have a lot of contempt for Walt and his era.

What's worrying is the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland can actually be seen as odes to white people's triumph over the world, Mainstreet USA is a celebration of the "good old days" when whites had absolute racial hegemony which was already starting to slip away in the 50s and gone by 1971, Adventureland is all about "gee, aren't non-white cultures exotic, foreign and weird?" with the original Pirates of The Caribbean depicting English pirates brutalizing Spanish colonists.

Frontierland is of course a celebration of the white man's triumph over the west, New Orleans square celebrates what was the heart of the NA slave trade, Liberty Square celebrates those slave owners that founded the US, the Haunted Mansion celebrates either Victorian era New England which was a racist era or a literal plantation home (REALLY racist)

Fantasyland celebrates "Eurocentric" folklore and architecture and Tomorrowland celebrates the next great step in the white man's endless game of conquest and colonization, space!

All this literally revolving around a "Eurocentric" image of a European castle towering over everything (well in Florida at least) as if to say this small world after all revolves around what whites can achieve.

It's starting with Splash Mountain being replaced because it's "racist" but the whole fucking parks can be viewed as racist by Woke standards, so it might not stop until the whole thing is demolished and replaced with "Wakanda: The Theme Park"

And remember, if you say one word about cultural genocide of white heritage, you're racist.

The people that claim to be Disney's biggest fans would stand by and applaud and cheer if Walt's biggest achievement got bulldozed and demolished completely.

And if you think that's extreme, imagine if Wokeness, which by it's nature keeps ramping things up, is never stopped and goes on for decades, then it's a question of when and not if, it'll be a miracle if Disneyland actually makes it to 100.

Yes, the Epcot obsessives are a special breed, to be fair, one thing that's made Walt such a legendary figure is the idea of him trying to build his own city and dying before it could be completed, it's one of the most fascinating "what if?" questions of the modern age.

But I remember thinking the Epcot we got was somewhat lame when I visited it as a kid, I didn't hate it, but people are more in love with the idea than the reality of the park, Horizons was a pretty cool ride but it's closure doesn't compare to the closure of the 20K Under The Sea ride which I think is Disney's biggest blunder in that regard, all the rides were so much exciting than Epcot's at the other parks.

Again, I didn't hate it, I do remember World Showcase being pretty interesting (but not as interesting as say ghosts or pirates), the coolest thing about Epcot is what the original plans were and not the actual park.

I used to be really big into all this stuff, it's heart breaking to see everything that was cool be corrupted piece by piece.

It's hard not to be harsh and say that women are to blame, as all this stuff became more feminized, either with actual females or feminized males, feminized in attitude it's only gotten worse and stupider.

No woman in history achieved something like what Walt did and no one ever will, only men have a certain drive to build things of a certain scale, a feminized civilization is one that's on it's way out.

On top of all that, Disney greenlit movies and TV shows hosted by Heinz Haber, Wernher von Braun, and Alexander de Seversky. All presented as entertainment.
It's getting harder and harder not to think that those guys were in the right and we'd be living in Walt's vision of a rocket powered future if intellectualization in the western world was coming from a more sauerkraut angle and less a pastrami one, if you know what I mean.

The specimens on display in this thread are perfect examples of just how fundamentally wrong things have gone, Walt wanted people to have fun, but he also wanted his media to educate people, inspire them to be productive and work on a better future and take away good, tried and true moral lessons away from his movies.

This has been replaced by fat people complaining they're too fat for the parks, Walt would probably tell these people to get the fuck out of his park.

This is something that both China and Disney failed to foresee. Kids today don't really like Disney anymore nor like it like their parents do. A lot of these kids like manga and video games. I see a lot of parents say that the best thing about being a parent is “reliving their childhoods”. But they never take into consideration that it’s not their generation but their children’s generation and that what their kids are into is way different from what they themselves were into as kids.
