We are a week out from the manufactured controversy over the Missouri gender clinic and it's clear it's taken off as well as a lead balloon.
Anecdotally, the weak hit job led by Bari Weiss/Vernedette Broyles seems to be pinging off people's BS radars.
Jamie Reed's story is being pushed by the worst of the worst anti-trans voices on the internet. I dig point-by-point through her claims and show how they undermine her conclusions.

Doing a cursory search of google stories, it's a few right wing outlets covering it and some Republican representatives talking about it, but even in most coverage I'm reading, the testimony of patients seems to be unanimously positive towards the clinic.

One of the major reasons I predict this "controversy" will fail so strongly is because there is no allegations of wrongdoing by actual patients, only a case manager (who did not do diagnostics herself as she was not a doctor).

To politically active people who saw the Planned Parenthood "fetal tissue" controversy and other Project Vertias hits, this is more of the same dishonesty from Republicans led by the same groups (ADF) that did this for abortion fights.

The clearest question anyone should be asking is: If she had issues back in 2021, why wait until Feb. 2023 at the height of anti-trans bills and JUST as a gender affirming care ban was absolutely crushed by activists in a hearing in Missouri?
This was all politically motivated.

All this said, the trajectory of anti-trans legislation is still poor in red states. I expect 10-12 anti-trans bans to pass this year. Court fights in the future and winning 2024 will be so important.
